  1. I wish there were a way to scale up the training opponents in the mists. If I could play all bots and choose a challenging (for me) level for all the bots I would never que ranked again and ruin your matches. I know all you die hards hate and get frustrated with we try hards, but it's really not much fun for us either. It's like walking into a chess club full of grandmasters and looking for a casual game.
  2. Thought unranked would be the obvious choice, but it seems the skill level (and attitude) is higher in the unranked.
  3. GW2 is not a pvp game. Go find a real pvp game. What's wrong with you guys? 10,000 crybaby threads, each one about how broken pvp is. GW2 pvp is just for throw away fun. Go look at all the classes and all the builds. How do you balance that? You can't. Go find a pvp game designed for pvp balance. GW2 PVP is about 20%skill, 55% who you draw, and about25% build. How can you take that personally or seriously? So just relax and don't take it seriously.
  4. The biggest turn off for me is people caring about their rank. I’m pretty okay, but I don’t ever play ranked anymore. There in no on ramp for new players anymore. Over time the pop will shrink. Ironically the ones who want it most drive away the people who can give it new life.
  5. The answer is to have better bots.
  6. No monthly fee and no gear grind. I’ll take it. I turned off all chat and text bubbles to get rid of the toxic element and that made a huge positive difference. Harder to coordinate but I don’t care.
  7. I would love to find a group of novice players to train with and try a tournament. But I can't imagine there are four other players left in all the GW2 community who would walk into that buzz saw with me. It's a closed and dying club from what I can tell.
  8. higher than Cypress Hill at a Snoop Dogg concert. I'm actually re-installing as we speak. Word brother!!! I was shrooming and little tipsy whilst playing and I was having a blast. Just the visuals of GW2 make me high. This game is amazing high, and then these nuts come in all salty about some meaningless ranking. So funny. Do they realize how much joy they are missing out on? And I've ranged all over the rankings, and would personally rank myself a solid B. Well, B- when sober. Reinstall and come back!!! I need you!!!
  9. Had a few ranked games today where a player got all bent out of shape and started lashing out at teammates. One player went afk, and then a typing war erupted. I told players to settle down because it’s just a silly game, and then some tryhards came after me saying I needed to understand how important their rankings were to them. So here is a truth bomb: gw2 is a casual game and the pvp is a mess. You have wildly varying skill levels, and bots, and afkers, and match throwers. If you care about outcomes you are setting yourself up for misery and disappointment. Just play this game for fun and do the best you can, but caring deeply about results is a form of masochism and it makes you look ridiculous when you get angry.
  10. From what I can tell is good players have a good player experience. But lower level players have a really bad experience. I suck and just like to tool around in pvp with some meta cheese builds. But this season is the worst I have seen by a wide WIDE margin. In a lot of games I totally lose interest after going down > 200 or up <200. Losing interest fast. This pvp game had better be careful or it will end up being a small club.
  11. Balanced PVP gameplay is impossible with 27 professions and multiple builds designed for a pve world. Something drastic is called for. But no need to reinvent the wheel, just take the best of what’s out there. Limit the build options to something like Overwatch’s numbers. Allow toon swap at respawn. Create different pvp modes like eso has, for example 3 teams in a match. Get different size battles. 8 man teams can be very fun for objective based games. But for heavens sake do something to shake it up!
  12. If the Duo partner on the opposite team wants to take a dive in that case, they easily could and boost their friend. Not to mention with top players spread out more evenly, that's basically SoloQ anyway. Good point, so how about this: you can duoque, but you get no advancement in ranked, and you each only get 5 pips win or lose. After all, you are duoqueing for fun right?
  13. The problem is you can't easily have pvp builds and pve builds and group builds be interchangeable, and still have a good game. Let's be honest, most people play pve and the game props them up to be GODS, then they enter pvp and they are worse than newborn babes and they leave with their tale between their legs.
  14. Here's an idea: duoque puts you on opposite teams, winner take all in the duo.
