Dragon's End always full
rwolf.9571 replied to philvaneyck.1932's topic in End of Dragons Discussion (Archived)
Yeah if you aren't in a group 15 min into fresh map, pretty much hosed on organized maps. Only option is to spam "join map" as ppl not doing the meta eventually leave. -
DO NOT nerf Dragon's End meta.
rwolf.9571 replied to Blackari.2051's topic in End of Dragons Discussion (Archived)
As a longtime no life casual. Is the difficulty fine. Sure. Do I want to replay this meta with only 2 successful clears since launch. NOPE! Do I want to devote 2 hours of time? NOPE! Do I want to try and make my own group, if there are no lfgs? NOPE! Could I command my own group? YES! Is it worth the effort? NOPE! (I joined a taxi with no commander, I took the initiative to command since nobody was stepping up. Did the most I could to form organized balanced groups, for the 20% phase split. Failed after a bad wipe>failed CC Phase> Tail> 50 secs left with 12% HP left. Not taking that responsibility again lol.) Shout outs to the few, and far between Commanders that run a organized meta. And those that take the initiative to help make callouts. Already feels it has come to a point where there is only one or two organized meta's at any given time. Similarly to Triple Trouble or Serpents Ire. At least with those 2, there isn't a lengthy 1 hour prep for those. Just show up 15-30 min ahead, and good to go. LFGs are dead unless it's a fresh map, nobody wants do a meta with a unprepped map. (The true PUG experience.) Props to those that do try on unorganized maps. Difficulty is fine. The Investment isn't however. Time will tell if this Meta dies off like the harder content. Things are still fresh after all. -
Eod Strikes already garbaged
rwolf.9571 replied to ugrakarma.9416's topic in End of Dragons Discussion (Archived)
I mean if I'm running one of the harder, raid like strikes. I will ask for roles, but not much more else. But this is going on pre-EoD strikes. Waiting around usually takes longer than setting up your own squad. As long as you are aware what you need in the squad comp. Create your own squad/lfg. -
i want my turtle dragons end sucks

If the bar was really set that low, we would see alot more clears. -

I was in that Squad, almost all of us were doing events for prep and full prep at that. There was nobody slacking, everybody pulling their weight best they could. Had a Commander and squad making calls. What else do you want? Start being elitist and start asking people to leave? Start asking for Kill Proof? Reconsidering squads, when it was already organized as it can get with a pug, I mean wth? Unless you have a 50 man guild to populate a map, you will need to work with what you are given. Even if prepped to the best of everybody's ability. -
DO NOT nerf Dragon's End meta.
rwolf.9571 replied to Blackari.2051's topic in End of Dragons Discussion (Archived)
Welp, PvE experience now has "Raid and Fractal CM" like elitism. Guess Anet didn't see that coming. Never had issues or complained about previous meta's being difficult, as they were entirely optional. I'd hop in try, forget about it, come back to it later with some mechanics learned. Hey it "was" fun. I've commanded a few Dragons Stand runs at the peak of it.. Was the right balance of difficulty at the time, Just needed the will of the players and coordination. Now that they've locked a whole advertised feature set behind one. Hooo boy, did Anet open a can of worms. I don't see anyway for Anet to get out of this, without nerfing this to the ground, players finding new ways to break the intended battle to make it easier/less pug reliant (one which was already nerfed, adjusted?), or entirely divorcing the mount from the Meta. I don't think I've ever seen a community divided to a meta prior like this. Seeing the same energy as those Dragon Stand runs, in Dragons End is great! People are WILLING to work cooperatively, showing up early, and set out to do the most they can, within their ability and timeframe. So people telling to get good can pound sand. You are just dividing the community to a point, where they're probably never touch the meta again. You want to help? give advice, help players who are inexperienced coming into this. Personally I'm avoiding the meta for now, I already failed enough attempts. And hearing players with more time than me, waste half a day for basically nothing, is enough a deterrent. As for ppl saying Strikes being another barrier, you can easily carry 1-3 dead ppl in a strike with a pug, with some semblance of the holy trinity. And with strikes are repeatable, comes with a faster learning curve, a sense of progression. Instead of rolling the dice every 2 hours. Even with a prepped instance, your improving the chances, but still rolling a dice in the current state. With Raids and T4 Fractals, it does not have to be toxic and elitist, as you can choose who to play with. But open world PvE gated content, where it's anybody's game... Well see if this gets for better or worse in the next few weeks. -
GW2 Promotion with Quiznos (Yes they still exist)
rwolf.9571 replied to Ayrilana.1396's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Bought a sub (Canada) from 1 of the 4 locations still open in this city. Person working there told me no promotions are going on, other than a free sub for downloading the Quiznos app. App has no reward there either, after redeeming points of purchase. I want my $8 back for venturing out in -10c weather and a snowstorm to sate my curiosity lol. -
How do you feel about the potential balance patch? *OLD*
rwolf.9571 replied to Tycura.1982's topic in Player vs. Player
Glad I quit pvp, meh balance. I'll miss the gold from ranked however. -
Consider yourself lucky then: I would LOVE it if I were to get the same amount of points in loses and wins.Notice that even though most loses we would get above 250 points, I would still lose -20 rating.... I dont even want to imagine what it would look like otherwise ( i have had games where I lost -28).In my case is lose 15-20, win 8-13: At some point I stopped taking so many screenshots because my screenshot folder was starting to get uncomfortably large. Well I reckon P1/P2 is the new "elite" player range with this low pop. Thus more carry volatility of a person that was of P3 or L1 of previous seasons. I usually stroll into P1 fairly easily previous seasons. But I'm hard stuck between G2/G3 this season before I gave up.

As a semi vet player of 9000 games. I think I quit permanently. I don't think anet can do anything to bring me back. Today's balance patch preview instilled no confidence going forward, and thus I have no confidence. Population is at a all time low, and matches are of abysmal quality. I didn't think it was possible to lose -20mmr in a 100 - 500 match as a Gold 2 player, but there it is. If Anet can guarantee that at least 70% of my matches aren't clown fiesta's I'll be back, but currently it's 80-90% of my matches are clown fiestas.
