  1. That might be a personal issue then, mate. You're kneecapping yourself in a lot of ways by not leveling a craft to 400 (takes less than an hour with the fast guides), especially when it comes to ascended/legendary stuff.
  2. You need 400 crafting for the insignia/weapon version to stat swap. That's a max of ~30g to level if you do the Fast Guide from gw2crafts.
  3. Hi, Fellow Player Traumatized By NCsoft's Mismanagement In Their Other Games! 👋🙃I'm still salty over what they did to Aion (and MXM). NCsoft has some absolute garbage management, inconsistent vision everywhere, and poor leadership, and has had that for well over a decade AT MINIMUM. Them bleeding money and being so surprised about it is amazing.
  4. If you consider Soon(tm) being 5+ years, based on the current development pace of modern MMOs, then, yes, it will be replaced Soon(tm), especially since NCsoft had to turn around and clarify that GW3 is in review, not active development. T&L just took NCsoft...10 years(?). Aion 2 has been rumored for gods know how long. MMOs, even mediocre ones in modern era, aren't made in 2 years.
  5. Good news for anyone who comes across this thread in the future: ^ got refunded when they asked support. :) Support tends to be really good about refunding things, so long as your mistake didn't "unlock" something on the account (example: crafting the wrong legendary armor piece). So, if you're someone like me who accidentally salvaged their ascended precursor WvW armor piece or deleted some stuff, reach out and see if they can help!
  6. It's funny in that GW2 does have design flaws (like every single game in existence), and the ones the dude posted aren't quite them. 😂 1 and 2 are basic MMO staples (I had to use 2 all the time in games like SWG because there was no info online at the time lmao), and 3 is a "flaw" found in far, far, FAR more than GW2. I think every "complex" game I've played, single player or not, has required me to look up guides/videos at some point. I remember finding .txt style guides for the Sailor Moon SNES RPG back in like 2000 because I got to the end of the game and realized I hadn't found all the puzzle pieces to get special accessories. 😭We used to have to buy guidebooks if you'd get stuck on some games! You kids have it so easy these days! *waves cane* Things that I'd personally consider are flaws in GW2 are: "Here's a server list but not well enumerated that it only matters for a specific mode and that the PvE/sPvP portion of the world is all a single server unlike most MMOs" + "this is how you join people on the same map; you don't need to transfer servers to play with your friends outside of specific gamemode," lack of good feedback on how you're performing without using things like arcDPS, the entire New Player Experience being kinda potato at explaining "basic" game mechanics (like break bar/CC), that you can't kill steal by just hitting something once (unless you one shot it, lol) and don't HAVE to group up most of the time to get loot/XP/credit.......Explaining that one has always been fun. Some other stuff, too, but the "Server list," performance feedback, and new player experience are the ones I see pop up the most. :(
  7. ^ this! Home instance cat collector title would be great! :>
  8. What changes? The ones where they're covering their butts from multiple people using the same account and then having one of those multiple people abscond with the account, with the actual "owner" trying to get it back, by saying each account created can only have "one" owner? I feel like that was more explicitly clarifying the mutiple users (even in same household) one account thing, making Support's job less ambiguous. Or the "You're not allowed to multi-box accounts in PvP/WvW" anymore (sans Custom Arena exception)? That's also not a bad thing. (For those who didn't know: https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013658134-Policy-Dual-or-Multi-Boxing )
  9. my, my, how can I resist you (<gw3 thread>) Edit: In all seriousness, with how inconsistent the story quality of GW2 has been, with some amazing highs and ungodly awful lows, the last thing I want is for them to concentrate that into a single player RPG and slap the GW name on it. Also having some flashbacks to the end of ME3 and the disaster that was......
  10. Masteries are so much easier to grind than gear, imo, especially if/when gear has RNG involved (long, pained, hard stare at my KMMO days). The hardest part of HoT is the mastery points themselves; there are ways to relatively quickly get HoT XP. (AB will drown you in XP) Tbqh, the hardest part of masteries is knowing which ones to focus on first to optimize your time/which will be most valuable to you in the immediate term vs long term.
  11. The people hardcore enough to do that likely already have legendary equipment, or already have a ton of ascended equipment sets ready to go and chilling in their bank/inventory while they may or may not be working on legendary equipment, especially since most of the meta builds on things like Snowcrows are berserkers/vipers/harriers/ritualists gear. (and then you have ascended armor/weapons being stat swappable with the mystic toilet) Probably 99% of the time, for 99% of the playerbase, they won't have to worry about more than one or two sets of gear and access to exotic weapons, even if they're playing endgame PvE content in a static.
  12. An MMO making it past 5 years with active development is pretty impressive these days. Have had so many flash-in-the-pan MMOs that are ultra hyped and then just...die, or change developers/publishers multiple times until they wind up with Gamigo/similar publishers and become p2w and die. MMO gamers are a niche subset within gaming overall. There aren't actually a lot of us relative to the entire "gamers" group. The chance of an MMO getting (and maintaining) 20 million players from the beginning is stupidly small.
  13. 100% is. Burnout is also a thing, even if it's something that happened slowly over a long period of time. Boredom, too. Taking a break/changing scenery is important. GW2 is great in that you can take a break for months/years and not be "behind" when you come back.
  14. Just off the top of my head - White mage: Holy Enjoy listening to that being spammed. It's unnaturally loud and annoying and obnoxious, and I hated using that skill because it's so grating, but I'd get raged at if I didn't use that skill (not unexpected nor do I blame anyone for that; AOE damage is AOE damage). There were other ones, too, but that is the big one I can immediately think of.
