  1. I'd personally like to see them reverse the skill. Instant cast forward (clone generated at the point of contact, 2 if traited), cast time to return to previous location.
  2. Rifle 2 currently does generate clones when used on yourself or allies. The catch, of course, is the clone needs to be able to attach to a nearby enemy when doing so, much like all the other clone generation skills and traits. This is also while not selecting anything.
  3. I believe it still kicks for afk autorun on a mount. Does anyone know when it actually did used to kick for afk running without a mount?
  4. I don't even understand how red bl continues the way it has for all these years. In nearly every single matchup since it was added it has the lowest WvW activity.
  5. The only advantage the unorganized can quickly and easily achieve is to rally for more. Sometimes people are just so desperate for something to fight that a simple callout results in way more people showing up than needed. If your groups are lethal enough, then yes, pugs will absolutely wait for overwhelming numbers before re-engaging you.
  6. What is it you like about bladeturn requiem that would make you desire it over having distortion?
  7. Well, at least one thing to clarify is that in WvW Virtuoso F4 is 3/4s per blade. Also Bladesong Renewal and F4 distortion don't stack, because as soon as Bladesong Renewal finishes casting it removes all distortion (even if you stacked them).
  8. If a server with a strong timezone goes in and dominates both servers, capturing their BLs, your solution will grant the dominating server a bonus when those servers "double team" by flipping their own BLs back. Further, the dominating server will be granted a bonus when the weaker servers are both getting most of their kills against the dominating server while trying to recapture their sides.
  9. It's time to put it up for adoption and hope Chrono finds a new home. I don't know of any other profession that had to have built-in exceptions to skills to prevent them working with the profession mechanic.
  10. We do gain better boon rip on shatters when traited, though some of it might end up being nerfed. F1 rips up to 5 on a target, 5 targets max. F2 rips up to 10 on a target (if you use the double hitting F2 from point blank range). Theoretically can hit 5 targets max but they'd have to be super stacked. F4 rips 1 boons per pulse (I think 6-8 pulses?) per target. We do lose boon rips on F3 though: F3 rips only 1 boon, and counts as only 1 CC for the additional boon rip (down to 2 from 8 potential with clones). RIP F3. I'd also argue that superspeed chrono clones on shatter move about as fast as the F1 projectiles when factoring the animations, so the 1200 range advantage there isn't as great.
  11. That's really cool, didn't know you could do that. We're now entering very viable and cool territory, though I have my doubts that it's intentional. If they removed the cast time component of the block/invuln (or allowed you to stow the minor effects) then I think it would be in much better shape.
  12. Basically this spec seems to be optimally played as full glass with ranged about facing. Utilities can be cast while facing away (1200 range on the two AoE damage/immob) Cast F1/F2/F3 and about face immediately after starting the cast Pistol/Greatsword phantasms cast while facing away, periodically turning to do greatsword/dagger skills or autos If something gap closes on you, you have 3s of invuln (where you can't do anything else since locked in cast time), and 1.5s of block (again locked in 1.5s cast animation). It's really funny that mesmer is designed to be within 600 range and yet this spec is less punishing to anyone within that range.
  13. Absolutely 100% agree. If an entire elite spec is centered around projectiles (though oddly no projectile finishers) it's time for ANet to lay the hammer down on projectile destruction/reflects. Limiting reflects to 5 to 10 projectiles would only be fair considering the same target limit placed on the projectiles themselves.
  14. WvW Perspective: Easily the weakest mesmer specialization, and it's not even close. Reflect heavy fights completely nullify anything you could ever bring to the table. F1-F3 going on 5s cooldown when an opponent isn't facing you is really bad. If you insist on not letting us cast them while facing away at least don't punish us for pressing it. Cast times on F1-F4 take a lot of getting used to. Personally, I don't see why a cast time was added to them, since their power isn't even stronger than 3 clone effects. Very underwhelming. F4 block is only 1.5s but the tooltip says 4 seconds when traited. Only the spinning miniscule damage lasts longer. I'd honestly trade being able to keep blades out of combat if the payout of stronger F skills was given. Mesmer survivability without instant cast defenses is really low. F2 traited to blind is too slow to be a reactionary defense, F3 has too long of a windup to be a reactionary defense and neither of them can be used while CC'd. Dagger skills lack utility and damage, which means they will not be used. Sword leap is nice. Also love that you tried to build some synergy in with other blades like greatsword and sword. With graphics on low/standard I do not see F1/F2/F3 animations from enemies. I was dueling another mesmer and the lack of animation meant I was constantly getting hit by something I couldn't even see. Blades shooting out on dodge/phantasm breaks our stealth. Basically if you plan on bringing stealth you can't pick those traits. The traits themselves don't really offer any interesting change in play like other specializations traits do. Like all mesmer specs, it can be decent in duels but it's actually easier to fight than other mesmer specs due to the animations giving time for people to dodge (assuming they render) or reflect and the easily predictable plays.
  15. The conclusion I've come to is that traits are simply darts that ANet throws at the board. If enough of them stick, and at least one of them hits the mark (becomes meta) they don't worry about fixing the rest.
