I think they said they want to take another look at boons and boon removal so I see this as a temporary measure. Though I still don't understand which urgent problem it is supposed to fix. If anything we need more boon removal (and fewer boons being spat out by certain professions). The WvW meta is much too tanky and boon heavy. Too many boons, near permanent uptime, imperviousness to cc.

Putting 25% movement speed in place of Desperate Decoy is not a bad idea. Desperate Decoy isn't is a trait with limited usefulness and unlike most Mesmer elite builds core builds actually can use Duelling without completely ruining the build. I still believe a second teleport is justified, though. It shouldn't be a stun break but especially in WvW our lack of mobility/chase/disengage is hurting. Even core Necromancers run circles around us, not to mention stuff like Willbender etc. A teleport on GS 3 would also force us to make a decision. Right now with its very short animation we use it pretty much on cool down and other than the self-root which can be stow cancelled there's no reason to not use it ever. Adding a teleport to it means you will be in melee range if you use it to damage your opponent. Which is something you may or may not want. You also may want to save it to get out of a sticky situation. Ads a little bit of thinking and counter play. -

Mesmer, and I mean basically core Mesmer needs more mobility. In WvW roaming everything that doesn't want to fight you just zooms away. Some of the EoD specs have insane mobility. Meanwhile Mesmer has one single blink on a medium length cool down. The only Mesmer build with decent mobility is Mirage, and that's only with sword ambush and Blurred Inscriptions. Core Mesmer and Chronomancer are probably the slowest moving specs in the game. I believe the least they could do is add a teleport to greatword 3, un-nerf Chaos superspeed and add swiftness to something you would actually take for roaming. Perhaps also add 25% movement speed to one of the signets that are actually used so every single non-Chronomancer power build isn't stuck with Firework runes. Also re-work the mess that is the core traits but that's a different story. -
That's true. Core needs to be looked at, too.

From my point of view Blurred Inscriptions is a crutch. A floating device. It keep otherwise underperforming builds afloat. It is also not fun to play against. At least I have never liked playing against builds with long lasting or chained invuls/blocks. And Virtuoso has plenty of that. And now will get F4 Distortion on top. Virtuoso at least doesn't need BI after that change. And other Mesmer builds should have their underlying issues fixed instead of hiding them behind BI. I know, asking for a complete core Mesmer overhaul is wishful thinking, but so is anything we post here so I might as well.

Sword 2 dps is too low in PvE? I wish we had that damage in PvP/WvW. Sure, it's an evade that does damage and needs a drawback. But it already has the drawback of rooting you in place. Either remove that or give more damage to it. -
Nerf Blurred Inscriptions please. That will take most of the toxicity off of Virtuoso.

I see what you want to do with these changes and in principal I agree with them, or most of them at least. But to me they appear to be targeted at a game that is not GW2 in 2022. What I mean by that is in order for many of these changes to make sense we need to bring down a lot of other classes first. Mesmer is already one of the most sub-meta professions in competitive game modes, and many of those changes are pretty hard hits. If you apply these changes to Mesmer to the game as it is right now Mesmer will be dead. That being said yes I believe if you were put in charge of GW2 balance I believe the result would be much better than what we have now. -

Power Chrono with distortion would be kind of okay for wvw roaming. Still need to adjust some of the overtuned professions though.

They gave more power to cmc. Unless he recently had some kind of epic epiphany that doesn't make me feel optimistic at all.

We already have 3 elite specs that don't really work plus a broken core class, but sure let's add more. I'm sure this time it will fix everything.

Mesmer has never been this bad in the history of the game (PvP)

I think you haven't fully discovered the depths of WvW roaming then. Your view on it would be like me joining a PvP match and then mindlessly strolling around the map or standing at crossroads looking for duels, wondering what all the fuzz is about.
