  1. Sorry, stab share is reserved for only certain classes.
  2. 1. Elementalist is my favorite. 2. I do not like current elementalist. 3. Anet should delete elementalist and free me from my despair.
  3. Stone heart. The point of taking Earth trait line is to be extra resistant against strike damage. Stone heart is the pinnacle of ele strike damage resistance short of invulnerability. Diamond skin is an extremely meh condition cleanse because it removes only 1 condition per second per time you get hit above 75% health. There are simply too many requitements for it to trigger and even when it triggers it wont help you against most class's condition spam. If you need condition cleanse there are significantly better options like fire trait line via transmuting auras, or active weapon abilities.
  4. I would be open to changing stone heart into a flat +300 toughness in all attunements. You get to crit us again and we get to have Guardian health and armor values.
  5. I am not sure how nerfing an "underwhelming and outdated" trait line makes it more viable. Should it be improved and reworked? Yes, but nerfing most of the attractive benefits is not the path. Stone Flesh Suggested change: After attuning to earth, strike damage taken is reduced for 6 seconds. Ok Earths Embrace Suggested change: Gain increased incoming barrier. Gain barrier when you successfully evade an attack. Could just get a reasonable cooldown like every other 300s CD trait in the game. Weaver has a trait similar to your suggestion (Invigorating Strikes). The combination of these two along side vigor would be too much for competitive modes. Serrated Stones Suggested change: Bleeding you inflict has increased duration. Gain increased condition damage whenever you inflict bleeding on a foe. I'm not sure why this underwhelming trait needed a nerf. Elemental Shielding Suggested change: Auras you grant to allies also grant barrier. This is a massive nerf. Protection sharing via auras is what makes this trait so attractive. Massive nerf to auramancers and core ele. Earthen Blast Suggested change: Inflict bleeding and cripple on nearby foes when attuning to earth. Non-impactful change. Strength of Stone Suggested change: Gain condition damage based on your vitality. Inflict bleeding when you immobilize a foe. This probably would be fine now that Stone Flesh lost it's toughness. Rock Solid Suggested change: Magnetic auras you grant to allies also grant stability. Massive nerf to anything not Tempest. Outside of Tempest only staff, hammer and magnetic shield have access to magnetic auras. Earthen Blessing Suggested change: Crowd control effects have a reduced duration on you. Ok Geomancer's Training Suggested change: Don't change Feels like a repeat of Stone Flesh but I don't have any better ideas for replacing the reduce damage taken effect. Diamond Skin Suggested change: Auras you grant to allies also grant resistance. I like it but auras start becoming quite overloaded with boons. Also ele typically has to trait for condi cleanse being water or fire so removing one more source of condi cleanse could harm some build potential. Written in Stone Suggested change: Don't change Ok Stone Heart Suggested change: After attuning to earth, take reduced damage from critical hits for 6 seconds. This trait has always been meh. Its extremely strong against power if you camp earth but ele design discourages attunement camping. I don't think giving ele another source of improved protection would be an option either.
  6. Its a bi-product of the current meta. Fix the meta and you fix the tempest issue. Seems to me the core issue being raised by this thread is that auras are annoying/too strong. Auras have always been a weird concept for elementalist. It is a mechanic which encourages the lowest health pool, lowest toughness profession to get hit. Aura effects have to be strong as you usually trade health directly for an action.
  7. This sums of catalyst nicely. Its boring with anything none hammer. D/D plays nicely with it but I found the additional fields F5 provides redundant (water field is nice though due to no warhorn or staff). The augments are relatively tame and underwhelming for their dependancy on F5. Everything else about catalyst highlights how under tuned core ele weapons are. I dislike how clunky hammer is and want to go back to my weaver but the damage output and sustain are just so nice to have. I wished the other weapons could enjoy this.
  8. > Me reading the patch notes But why? > Me reading the design notes that were supposed to explain the patch notes But why?
  9. Perhaps they are having issues rationalizing the balance notes vs reality.
  10. 2/10 Honestly, this patch is in line with my expectations of ANET's balancing team. The additional material and context surrounding the changes just proves what many have believed for quite some time. The balance team does not have a complete understanding of most of the classes and balance on spur of the moment decisions when something flashy is done. I still love this game as it is one of the few MMOs left that provides content and complexity I enjoy. With the track record of ANET, balance patches have devolved in to a single question for me: Is this a game I still want to play? Its has become a resounding NO. I am tired of playing classes suffering from half baked ideas, trees with "temporary" 300s cd traits, balancing patches with roundabout methods of nerfing over preforming builds, over preforming builds which are never touched, empty promises of soon TM, etc. I have no hope for the future of this games balance with its current team.
  11. I bet they are going to gut aura sharing and replace it with some boons elementalist normally cant access. Then they will look at golem benchmarks and nerf core ele where ever a specialization over preforms. As is tradition.
  12. The catalyst tree is just a stat stick with a juicy aura minor trait at the end. There is nothing in the tree that encourages either a new play style or theory crafting. Id rather catalyst moves away from auramancer focus and looks to traits for combos as that is one of the most interesting and least used part of this game nowadays.
  13. I quite like my Thermaltake Nemesis Switch for $50. It is a claw grip mouse with up to 8 side buttons that have good tactility to them. The software is pretty decent as well. The optical sensor on it is widely used and of good quality. I have been using it for 4 years now and have had no issues.
  14. Seemed like a pretty decent fight to me. Even with cleanses you were dishing out damage while being evassive. Damage taken by both was about equal throughout the fight. The warrior cleansed 6 times with skills in a 60s clip which makes sense between Shake It Off, Mending, and Major Trait Shrug It Off. Condis on a whole are fine but there are certain builds that gain too much from running condi + trailblazer. Condis require active countermeasures in the form of cleanses while power can be mitigated passively via stats. WvW as a whole could benefit from more frequent balance patches.
  15. I think you are referring to an old meme build some elementalist's ran. It was full beserker, glyph of elemental power, arcane power, lightning flash. The idea was you self buff inside a tower. Pop arcane power, elemental power, dual atune fire/earth, charge churning earth, atune air, flash onto the tower exit portal and insta nuke anyone on ram or nearby. That is the only true one shot ele has to my knowledge. There are other methods that produce short TTK such as FA builds but in todays meta most of these gimicky glass memes wont be effective.
