  1. nope the +9AR infusions with stats are not mandatory, especially not in pugs (though more dps to phase things in fractals is always nice). Whether they are worthwhile or not depends on where you stand with endgame content. People who try and push for the highest possible dps (or healing) will buy those. People who don't care about that, don't buy them. I have i think 3 builds with +9AR +5 stat infusions (and another 2 with WvW infusions that I don't take into fractals), but I also have brought my soulbeast and mech into fractals with normal +9AR infusions. Oh but do make sure you have at least 150AR if you plan on doing all T4s. I mean yea technically you don't need 150 until the higher levels of T4 (and ironically you don't need any AR to do 100CM), but having a solid 150AR is a guarantee to not take agony damage. TLDR: no you dont have to get them but they are useful to those that care
  2. maybe try joining a guild since it's in the name Guild Wars 2. Also instead of complaining just do the content. If you think you know the mechanics, then just join a group and on LFG and go for it (and if you get kicked for being bad, just get more training). If you're actually inexperienced then ask for resources for where you can learn. As for wvw, like others have said, join a wvw guild that is willing to teach. And if you can't find any then ask. At the end of the day it's a game, so don't take it too seriously. I think you tunnelled into thinking "wow I've put so much effort in this game in the form of spending money and gearing and learning but no one wants to play with me wahhhh", when the reality is much more broad than that. If you're a skilled and polite player people wanna play with you, if you're not then they don't. And if you never put yourself out there, no one really knows that you exist. It's not up to other people to find you. Edit: had a look at your profile and i see you've made almost the exact same post a month ago complaining. Yikes. Also saw you asked for and received and invite to a guild. Hope that solves all your issues lol
  3. not to be that person, but in amongst the "hardcore" fractal community (just means they do them more often tbh) it is really well known and as long as you're on a class that has either superspeed or death defying heal (so that you run either superspeed runes or rebirth runes) or ideally both like tempest or scrapper, it's really easy to do (with choya tonic ofc). If you're interested i do recommend you giving it a go, it's a skip you can practice really easily since it's at the beginning of the fractal.
  4. also your view of what CMs are is just plain incorrect, inaccurate and wrong, and by extension you have no idea what speedrunning is. Just because skips exist and someone executes them in a run doesn't mean that run is a "speedrun" lmfao people really love to just throw that term around. Speedrunning is an art form, and an experience more than just it being about technique, it's more than just going fast. If you skip the mechanics between Point A and Point B but you wipe to the fight at Point B, its both an unpleasant experience and not fast, therefore not a "speedrun" run. Again to highlight the point, speedrunning involves skips but doing skips does not equal speedrunning.
  5. someone clearly doesn't do daily fractals or else your opinion would be "wow thank goodness Solid Ocean is a daily so i can get easy, painless and relatively quick loot". This fractal is especially a godsend on days with other arduous fractals/CMs with horrible instabilities. Imagine complaining about something because it's easy lol
  6. cool so there was actually no legitimate reasoning behind removing signet share, aside from it falling in line with the whole "homogenizing gameplay" direction of the patch - which in itself is poor reasoning.
  7. This is coming from the same guy who asked for a list of GW2 bug fixes from a couple of streamers over a conversation stemming from him being in the same Twitch chat as them. Highly unprofessional. Same with the behaviour and words of that Dev in the leaked discord. That GW2 bugs document which included fixes to a bunch of speedrunning skips in fractals was made known to my bf Mrmeowgi (one of the few people in this game who invents such skips, with many of HIS skips in that document) and myself. Over the course of several weeks we tried again and again to reach Grouch (who btw accepted Meowgi's friend request on Discord) to try and get an answer on 2 things: 1) What is his vision for the game, specifically, where will speedrunning be in his vision of the game? Because it feels very demoralising, to not only spend hours discovering something, perfecting the technique, and (possibly) hours/days/weeks recording a video getting that perfect take that demonstrates the skip, only for Anet to patch it in this secret document. We thought if we could reach Grouch and talk to him about what he thought of speedrunning we could even work WITH Anet to ensure that the content we put out would be approved, and they would get the benefit of learning what the actual problematic bugs in fractals are, instead of having people who have 0 knowledge in fractals simply copy and paste a bunch of YouTube fractal skips and present them as "high priority bugs to be fixed". 2) If Anet is disapproving of the content we put out (we are in essence "breaking the game"/playing the game in an unintended way - which is the spirit of speedrunning) then we wondered and were concerned: Would Anet one day, all of a sudden, turn around and cite what we were doing was against ToS and ban us? We got silence. Even though I went as far as to track down Grouch in Teapot's stream (seems he has no problem "communicating"/dropping hints of his vision there, in a streamer's chat of all places), asking him to read Meowgi's DM to him on Discord, to which he replied "KK". Nothing ever came of that. Which after everything we've seen I'm not surprised. And after my personal loss, of losing signet share (which is barely used nowadays anyway, and is used in 0 builds aside from specifically Perfect Inscriptions Heal Firebrand - which in itself takes skill to play well since you drop a lot of passive healing from taking Virtues, which again is ANOTHER sign that Anet doesn't know their own game), all I can feel is just an overwhelming sense of "disappointed but not surprised". Will I be quitting the game entirely? No, I'll still log in for the apocalypse and to get my Harvest Temple CM and infusion, (props to Cameron Rich and his team and the art team respectively). And I'll still maybe log in from time to time, but as I saw somewhere else "The story for me has ended, Tyria is safe and they don't need me anymore. I finished the game." (Edited to clarify and highlight that Meowgi's skips were included in that secret document.)
  8. I don't normally take to forums to actively voice my disapproval, but I feel compelled to add my voice to the pot here. Catalyst gameplay feels clunky, slow and makes me want to take another weapon other than hammer - but in doing so effectively turns Catalyst into core ele (with a discount, semi-functional gyro) The jade sphere feels inconsequential to use for the time cost it requires to power it up (both for dps and support builds), the traits are meh. Ultimately, the gameplay is unrewarding and makes me question my choice to play Catalyst, and ele at large, when other classes can output dps and boons/support far better than Catalyst, with more rewarding and fun gameplay. At its core, elementalist gameplay is known for being glass cannon, high risk, high reward, and complex in style. This takes everything that elementalist is and throws it out the window, in the worst way possible. edit: forgot to mention the utilities - that's how insignificant they were to the spec. The utility skills add nothing to the class - for both dps or support builds, nor my enjoyment of the catalyst.
  9. Why the Condi weaver nerf ? It's hard enough as is to pull numbers given its complex rotation, squishy glass cannon nature and it's reliance on perfect quickness and alacrity... Seriously...? And no nerf to the insanely OP axe 5 on soulbeast. Right. Makes sense.
