  1. Haven't really had any issues with DX11 so far other than this... https://imgur.com/a/MGjvNjG Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor 3.70 GHz Video Card: Gigabyte RX5700XT AMD software version 21.9.2 Installed RAM: 16.0 GB Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit In game location: Arcana Obscura (instance) LW2Chap8 Was attempting to talk to Ogden Stonehealer. Everything was fine until I went down the spiral staircase. Then everything glitched and I had to close the game. Tried it a second time, just to be sure. Then did it again with DX11 off. No issues with DX9.
  2. We can discussed if weekly new content is good (remember LS1 with two weekly new content), but it just seems that they did screw up already with new content coming only when we reach tier 5, but making it unable to reach tier 5 now. (I assume that this is happening right now.) Personally I would find it okay if they slowly increase the release. Maybe one more story, one mastery and two DRM (yes, I know that many got tired of them already), maybe a few more achievements and most would be okay with it. I don't believe the Devs 'promised' weekly updates. This does not mean 'weekly':In the weeks between releases, each chapter will continue to evolve with new content and ways to play. 'Weeks' means any time between releases, i.e. sometime in the weeks between the release in November and the release in January. We've rarely, if ever, received any kind of update less than two weeks apart. Things like this is, IMO, one of the reasons why they don't engage with us on the forums. Things like this, IMO, only happen because they don't really engage with us on the forums. No, things like this happen because the in game communication sucks. Not everyone comes on the forums. I had no idea anything was going on for over 3 days.. and I'm a relatively active player. All I got was an in game mail saying "here is something.. visit the Eye of the North". Days later when I finally went I still had no idea what to do or what was going on. I will admit that I have always had issues with how the game lets people know what to do. I should never have to go research something to figure out how to do it. Maybe I'm alone in thinking that.
  3. Looking for a casual 'family friendly' guild on the Fort Aspenwood server for mostly PvE with some PvP and WvW. Just not very good at PvP stuff... I'm an American living in Japan and looking for a good guild to join. I've been playing MMO's for a while now and recently came back to GW2. My daughter also likes to play sometimes, hence the "looking for a family friendly guild". I''m not that worried about a bad words in chat as I can turn the profanity filter on, and I'm sure she's heard me say much worse. I'm happy to do discord if necessary. I miss having good people to play with and talk to. I'm always willing to help out a guild-mate and know what good teamwork means. Look forward to hearing from you... Wasabi Farts
  4. Honestly I don't really have a budget, I just cant see spending $2K on a PC for Guild Wars. If I was 25 again and playing for 12+ hours a day.. yeah. I've been watching a LOT of YouTube videos about the the new Ryzen CPU's and Radeon video cards. It's such a hard decision. I'm willing to spend a bit more for a quality part, but don't like spending money for something that I'm not going to utilize. I'll take a look at the Ryzen 5 3600. Think it would play GW2 well enough??
  5. Sorry for the late response.. we're in the process of moving and work's been busy. Really appreciate all the replies and people inputs. It's so hard to not go big when building a computer, trying to get just above what I need to make sure everything is good and will last for a while. And I've settled on Intel definitely, seems to be the consensus that its the only viable option for GW2. Really appreciate it.. and yeah, all new stuff. I've already been quizzing her on the components of a computer. Start out with the easy stuff. =) Again, thanks for the input!
  6. Greetings! So I've been thinking about building a new PC and would like some input on the most bang for buck parts. My 10 year old daughter has recently started playing GW2 with me after I got back into it after some time away. We're currently playing on a i7-NUC8 that I got recently as a small home computer/media player. But once my daughter started to really get into playing I thought it might be cool for her to learn more about computers and build one with me. I've built several gaming computers in the past for myself and friends so I'm not new at it, I'm just not up to date on what's good and worth the money right now. I'm seeing in the news that AMD just released some new CPU's, but then everyone on here and Reddit is saying that the game runs way better off of Intel CPU's since it utilizes more CPU processing over GPU. So with that is it even worth getting a high end CPU or GPU? I usually fall into the category of spend a bit more to get good products so you don't have issues later on. But it's hard to justify spending that much on a computer that will probably be used for GW2 and Minecraft. I am willing to get good storage, either SSD or even M.2 as I read that storage speed was pretty important too. Tl;DR.. Whats the best bang for buck CPU/GPU setup for GW2? I would like to end up between $750 - $1,000 price range... less would be even better though. Really appreciate any info and insight you may have! TY!
