  1. I give up. I have had it. I am through. To everyone who wants to, you are free to read the entire correspondence between me and every other party involved in trying to fix this issue that remains unsolved, eat your heart out. I'm done with this game and I regret having spent money on it. https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XnuDff1wR30fBe5pJHgy6ubCHxU8Z6keecVM4Jhyxs/edit?usp=sharing
  2. @Healix.5819I already tried everything you just said and more. If you want I can mail you the entire correspondence between me and GW2 support. Except the connect directly to router because my computer is downstairs and the router is upstairs, and I'm not moving either of them.Also, my housemate uses wifi without disconnects, so my wifi should also work without disconnects.
  3. Maybe for you, but my housemate and I use the same internet. Only difference between us is wifi hardware, mine is from asus and his is from intel. He doesn't get the blackscreens, but I do. So since we play from the same spot in the house using the same wifi, it's literally not possible for it to be a tier 1 backbone issue since he doesn't have any problems.
  4. I'm describing the same issue in this thread here:https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/85262/my-game-crashes-at-least-once-a-day-on-brand-new-computer I've been receiving help through arena-net support unsuccessfully since august 26 2019, and my ticket has even been escalated to Lead GM Magister, who has been trying to help me to no avail. I've done several tests, contacted my ISP, the tech help desk of shop I bought the computer from, even asus the company I bought my wifi hardware from. Literally all of those have tried to help but concluded everything was honky dory on their end. Except Asus, their main office in Taiwan is still looking into the issue. (but I have a feeling they will conclude the same, that it's guild wars that causes the problem) After asking the gm's multiple times to forward this to the development team, I now have resorted to begging them and using please multiple times.I hope they listen, I'm so tired of trying things and contacting everyone when it's clearly an error on their end. The last reply I received was from wednesday last week, so it's almost a full week since they last replied to me. If you have this blackscreen issue PLEASE open a ticket, they will only seriously consider this being a fault on their end if they receive enough reports of people with this issue.
  5. It did reduce the amount of disconnects drastically though, so it's still worth a try. But yeah, unfortunately problem not solved yet.
  6. Nope, nevermind. Looks like I jynxed it :'( another black screen disconnect. Darn it.
  7. I learned a lot about connections/internet/ports and such lately, and I really don't want to jynx it, buuuut I think my problem might be solved!! @"Popocatl.2649" Here's what I did:1) I took the manual that came with my router, and logged into it from my pc.(in english it's configuration, but in my language it's referred to as set-up/settingFrom there I was able to add ports to my router. if you want to make sure you do it correctly, call your ISP and have them guide you through it. It's what I did because I wanted to be sure I didn't make mistakes, and this way I was able to ask questions during the process and learn more about it!)2) After adding the three ports required I hit the save button.3) THEN turned off my pc and turned off my router.4) Unplugged router <- this step is very important, you have to take the power plug out of the socket for your port forwarding to be integrated. Wait 5 minutes. Then put the plug back in.5) Turn on your router, and wait for it to complete start up. In your user manual there should be an explanation on what to look for on your router to indicate it's complete.(my router/connectbox is an ARRIS and isp is Ziggo, user manual is very clear and informative.)6) Now start up your computer again and you should be able to play without the disconnects happening anymore. IF that doesn't help, then check the IP that you entered in your port forwarding. Make sure it is your router's IP. You can check your IP by opening command prompt(just type cmd in your search bar) and entering ipconfig and then press enter. On the bottom it should say Default Gateway, and beside it is your IP adress. Double check to make sure this ip is the same as you entered in port forwarding. Two above that line it sais IPv4 adress, which is the address generated for the machine you are connected to, so your laptop or pc connection code. Both Default Gateway and IPv4 should NOT start with 164 or 264, something with six I don't really remember, but if they do than you need to get it fixed. So if it's your IPv4 adress that has the faulty number you know you have to get your wifi hardware or software fixed. If it's your IP that has those number you have to get your router fixed. If they are both fine and you still have the disconnection issues then there is one more thing you can try!Go to this website: https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ <- the port checking on that website doesn't work btw, it will keep saying the ports are closed even if they are open. This is because ISP's are protected and such info can and should only be accessible through logging into your modem account. There you will see it generates an IP "your external address" and claim it is yours, even if it's not the IP of your router.This address serves as a.. Hmm I'm just gonna use rigging terms and say parent. If your internet provider shuts off your internet on purpose due to not paying your bills or illegal activities, they turn off the internet for the parent IP. What you can do is log into your router, and add port forwarding of the GW ports to the parent IP as well. Don't forget to save! Then repeat the steps of turning off computer etc. as explained above. <- if this works you are not going to be able to enjoy it for very long, because the parent IP changes every few weeks. THUS you should contact your IP and tell them the external address is keeping you from accessing port forwarding through your routers IP. Please let me know if it works out!! =) <3
  8. It would help if you send in a ticket about this. GW2 keeps thinking it's something wrong with our computers instead of them and if everyone with connection issues started sending in tickets they might be inclined to finally look in the mirror.
  9. OH LOL I just realized my housemate's wifi hardware is from Intel. HMMMM. Is your wifi hardware also from Asus? Maybe a switch to intel in wifi hardware is more compatible with guild wars. I doubt Asus is going to recommend I switch to their competitors LOL so hopefully they will fix this asap if it is indeed their hardware that causes the connection issues with Guild Wars. I'm really curious to hear what wifi hardware you have.
  10. @Popocatl.2649 Hi, I've spoken with my ISP and the GM's and after several tests it has been established that my internet is fine so we can rule out the ISP. However it IS a disconnection issue. Basically what happens is the game disconnects, but instead of returning to the character select screen with an error message the screen turns black with a move-able cursor. That said, I have been waiting for over 36 hours for a response after they asked me to send them a pathping -n on both my and my housemate's computer so they can compare. They haven't responded yet, probably because they are still trying to figure it out. As I waited I also sent this info to my ISP and they assured me that from the pathping all they can see is that the internet is fine and that it's either GW or my wifi hardware. Sooooo I have taken it upon myself to contact Asus, the provider of my wifi hardware, and asked them why on my Asus PCE-AC51 AC750 I have frequent disconnection issues to the guild wars game server, while my housemate who uses Dualband Wireless AC 3168 never has disconnection issues. If Asus is able to provide a solution, GREAT! I will get a different wifi hardware for my PC and problem would be solved. If not, then the GM's will have to hopefully come to a realization that it's Guild Wars that is the problem and set some people on it to fix it. Hopefully they won't require an increase of connection issue reports "more players would be affected and be contacting us, but we have not seen any uptick in the number of reports of connectivity issues." I mean generally people are lazy and would take the easy route and play with their cable directly connected to the router instead of sending in a ticket and troubleshoot for hours upon hours to find out why the wifi ain't working. I've spent so many hours sending mails to the store I bought this from, to the gm's to troubleshoot, to my ISP, and now to fudgemuffin brownie cupcake Asus my wifi hardware provider, if I got minimum wage for the hours I spent doing all that I would have made half a grand. >.>;
  11. Thanks for the information, I will try clearing the cache to see if that helps :) The GM just got back to me, so now I don't know if I should still contact my ISP about it a second time or not: The main difference is that I use a PC and he uses a laptop. As far as connectivity is concerned the antenna in a laptop is located behind a screen, while the antenna on my computer are on the back end and blocked by my desk, but that doesn't stop me from having lightning fast internet when streaming or playing other online games. I think my next step is to run an arenanet diagnostic for my housemates laptop and see if they can figure out what the main differences are. As far as I know we both have windows defender as only antivirus.
  12. I'm not going to do those things without knowing what it is I am doing. What does the appdata folder do? And why would removing it help my problem?I have nothing of Nahimic.DVR game bar was already disabled. The GM said the issue was packet loss which causes the connection to the game client to break and to inform with my ISP. I contacted my ISP about it, but they haven't gotten back to me yet, I will call them tomorrow to ask what's taking so long.
  13. @megal.6275 press ctrl+F then type in September 2 That will take you to my post that explains I already tried that.
  14. Okay, as it turns out the latest patch only temporarily solved the issue for regular and PVE and PVW. The past two weeks I've been going back and forth with GM's over how to eliminate the problem again. They had me run several ping plotter and GPUZ tests to pinpoint when the crashes keep happening. We tried uninstalling-reinstalling guildwars.Repaired missing or corrupt system files with Microsoft's System File Checker toolUse google DNS settings:Google DNSPrimary DNS: 8.8.8.8Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4Reset my BIOS All these things proved ineffective. They asked me to contact my ISP, which I did over the phone. My ISP is Ziggo and they put our router through a different path, but unfortunately that didn't solve the issue. I also think it remains odd that this happens to me and not my housemates who use the same wireless internet as me. I even forwarded my emails to the store I bought the computer from since they provide technical support for their customers, and they informed me this is a long known bug that is related to Guild Wars 2 the game, and even linked to these two sources that reported a similar issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/711odk/black_screen_but_you_can_still_see_the_cursor_and/https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/8138/fixed-black-screen-with-cursor-bug And now I'm copy pasting my ticket correspondence over to a google doc so I can send it to my ISP customer support, who annoyingly enough don't have an email address to mail to but rather a "contact form" type of deal on their website, meaning I can't just press the forward button on my hotmail and send it to them. Straight up copy-pasting it over in the little box would probably be a bit much, not to mention cluttered and difficult for them to go through.. Sooooo great, just more and more time going into me troubleshooting this game, I've been really patient the first month, but now I'm getting frustrated.
  15. Little update on the situation: The latest patch eliminated the problem for PVE, PVP and WVW gameplay, but me and the GM's are still troubleshooting to find the problem with why it's still happening in instances. Things tried so far that didn't work include:Playing in windowed mode. (to rule out settings)Disabling all non-windows background applications.DNS flush and winsock reset.
