  1. No, it's because as a company, lying to you shareholder is illegal, lying to you customers however is just daily business. The problem is there are plenty of reasons why the "we are focusing on GW2" statement, is what they would say anyways.
  2. I'm kinda feeling a bit unmotivated aswell lately. I've been taking a semi voluntary break over eastern were i had some other stuff to do. than a some point i kinda remembert "mh, you haven't even played GW2 the last 3 Day." and all i thought after that was "meh, anyway...whatever". But truth be told this isn't really about the "gw3 news but not really news" situation. I was feeling somewhat bored with the game lately anyway SotO dind't quite turn out the way i hoped and i've essentially "finished" the rest of the game already. I think the GW3 namedrop isn't even the Problem of moste people. There are very few people that actually believe the servers will shut down anytime soon or that GW2 will go full maintenance mode. But i think Anet repeatedly stating that "there focus is on GW2" might even make things worse rather that better. If the current situation is what "focus is on GW2" looks like, that i dont even want to imagen what it would or will be like if GW3 actually does go into active development.
  3. The closest thing to real Numbers we have is probably Steamdb but keep in mind 2 import facts... #1: This Numbers only shows current players a.k.a. only the once that are acctualy running the Client at any given moment, through Steam. Wich brings us to the next point... #2: It only Shows players on Steam. Since the game lanched very late on Steam the the vast majority of players is using the Arenanet Client and is therefore not included in these stats. Conservative estimates asumme the acctual playercount to be about 10x that of Steam but again no exact Numbers on that one.
  4. Okay, with all the Talk latelly here are my 2 cents. 1. Don't do it!... no siriusly. If it's not a real sequel and some kind of spin off in a different genre, just call it something different and do it early on to avoid the doomsday panic some are facing right now. if it IS a real sequel... still Don't do it!... just make it a GW2.5 instead. Meaning have it work more like a standalone addon with character import functionality, sort of like old school Bio Ware games, like Mass Effect did it. I know it's not practical to let everyone keep everything but thingst that should carry over are: Legendarys Your Character with his Backstory (a.k.a. the Commander) Titles & some achievement some level of MTX at least the Character bound upgrades such as Bagslots and Gear/Build Templates Maybe some other skills, the slot your character is in or Bank/Storage expansions. Basically a hall of monuments dialed up to 11. For a lot of other Systems in the game i believe a clean slate could be benificial. There are a LOT of legacy systems in place and parts of the economy are borked beyond repair. Some stuff just needs to be wiped and redone but to only way to make players accept this ist to let them opt in. The things that are subject to change should be: Skills, Traits and Boons but don't reinvent the wheel. The Combat system. Thats a tricky one. I like how it is now but i also think it's to fast for most people. make it accessible but keep it action based. Leveling. Honestly just get rid of ot all togehter it's meaningless in this day and age anyway also makes the character import easier to handle. Currencies. I know. I know. Everone loves there gold but keeping this would destroy the new economy out of the gate so that stuff should stay in GW2. The engine. Obviously! With that some updates to graphical fidelity but keep the general vibe, don't make it hyper realistic. mabe dial down a bit on the effects. Multiplattform support. While i am a member if the PC masterrace myself i can't deny that the real monye is on consols and even more so ... mobile🤢 i don't think it will be posible to make the game fully playabme on mobile yet still engaging enoght on PC but some kind of companion app with mini games and/or management tools and social featues, as wale bait could get a long way. Can but not Must: Reimport to GW2. Not shure how it would work but i'm sure it would be complicated Lorewise you can go the cataclysm route. "Oh, no something very bad happend. Aurene died, magic's going wild, all ower skills have changed, Tyria is doomed. We need to flee to the mysterious, magical land of GW3 to survive and stop the BBEGs before they destroy everything else. While we are there you we can use ower arcane magical macguffin to travel to a mist echo of Tyria before the calamity a.k.a GW2".
  5. Hi, I can confirm to everyone that it worked just fine for me on the preview driver but the full realese 24.1.1 gives me sad "Please use DirectX 11 or 12 API." message. I know that it is not compatible with Blish Hud (i tried), yet Arc DPS still worked for me, at least on the last preview driver from 2023. Although i did not find the feature particularly usefull in this game anyway. In big meta events, even on my 7900xt and r7 5800x3d, framerates would drop so low that the generated frames became quit blurry with frequent artifacting on particle effects and whiel not in big events my FPS exceeded my monitors refresh rate a lot of the time anyway. Bottom line it was always one of two things, either ugly or unnessesary so i turnd it back of and used sharpening instead, wich maches the game look much better. One time i somehow managed to have them both working at the same time, even though thats not officially supported, and could not get it to work again afterwards. However. I'd still like to try it again and see if there are any improvements, so let's hope AMD fixes this issue soon and if not... meh, so be it.
  6. Hm, okay. Hot take here. I think giving the relic out for free, especially for having made just a single rune, is a bit of a mistake. Truth be told i'm kinda bored with the game lately and was looking forward to having a new goal to work towards. Therefore i'm in favor of the decision to not auto unlock relics in future expansion. In fact i think stats on legenday gear should have been handled the same way although i kinda get why that wasn't done that way back than. However one caveat i have is that i find the whole relic system is still a bit lackluster. Nearly evey build is running the same 2-3 relics for its archetype and many of the more interesting effects seem a bit undertuned, often because of longish ICDs and or low boon/effect durations. Also some of the more flavorful rune effects from core are still missing. ( Looking at you, Runes of the Lich and Oger).
  7. Generally i like most of the changes in this update the point that's obviously sticking out it the very harsh nerf to Scourge. While the res-power nerfs look very hard on at first glance i can understand why they are in there. However i would have targeted the CD of Ritual of Life rather than nerfing it's revive percentage this hard. What makes Healscourge so problematic is not how fast it can res people but how often it can do it. I'm convinced it will still be very strong after this patch just no longer godlike OP as before. The far bigger issue is DPS Scourge and the nerf to Sand Shade duration, the real issue here however isn't the duration itself, arguably this even leads to more interesting gameplay by making shade management more of a requirement and is better design in the grander scheme of things, but the effect this has to the two minor traits Sand Sage and Blood as Sand. With only one Shade being maintainable this leads to a 10% nerf in condition and boon duration from Sand Sage and, probability even more important, a loss of 10% damage reduction from Blood as Sand. The Condition duration loss can be compensated for by slotting Sigil of Demons, as Bleeding overcaps with Nightmare Runes anyway, and it can be argued that the sustain nerf has been warranted but all these nerfs to utility have not been compensated by an increase in damage, quit the opposite damage will most likely go down a little after loosing Sigil of Torment, all on a DPS build that's already at the bottem of the chart. All these issues will also hamper the upcoming alacrity build greatly. I understand that some of the nerfs have been necessary to prevent the Alac build from becoming totally overpowered but i feel like some of this wastly overshot and DPS scorge got caught in the crossfire. I'm not advocating for huge Damage on Scourge, Harbinger already has that coverd, what made Scourge so good and interesting is the utility it can provide with still pretty respectable DPS, after this Patch i'm afrait both of this will be mostly gone. Please reconsider the changes to Scourge or, even if it's a but of a clunky solution, tie the Shade duration reduction only to taking the new Version of Desert Empowerment until a better solution can be found. As a side note: A 180 radius for Alac application seems a bit small imo. Maybe put Alac on Sand Savant instead? That’s kinda what i was expecting to happen anyway.
  8. Hm, some of the points are really confusing me. Personally i have yet to encounter these illusive "overperforming alacrity willbenders and Condition-based alacrity renegades" most of what is see when it comes to alacrity is mechanists and the odd tempest now an than. For Revenant quickness herold seems way more out of whack they anything i've seen from renegades at the moment. It's nice to finally see some reaper buffs even if some are the meme worthy axe buffs. For the focus buffs i would still prefer a functionality flip on Spinal Shivers to deal more damage when no boons are remove rathe than the other way around and that game wide if possible. The Buff the Elixir of Ambition looks nice but if my math works out right the cooldown reduction has the potential to enabele "harbinger only" partys with full boons and i'm not sure thats what you want to see. For Engi. Do we really need condi holo? I'd much rather see some buffs to quickness scrapper. Improving its flexibility with utility skills and giving it some accsess to fury. I'm also a bit on the fence about the mirage nerfs. Staff mirage is a very situational build and i have not seen that many around lately. While it is certainly very good is some cases, it's just mediocre in others and this nerf might bring it down to just "always bad". Chrono on the other hand could use some love for its support builds especially the alac one.
  9. Right clicking an Item and and selecting either "Sell at Trading Post" oder "Buy more at Trading Post" causes intermittent client crashes. I often, but not exclusively, observed this right after opening bags, when trying to sell its contents or after a load screen. Opening the Trading Post manually does not seem to cause any such issues.
  10. The Cooldown reduction remove from "Banshee's Wail" basically results in a strait nerf to a trait thats hardly beeing used anyway because of the strong competing traits in this tier, especially from "Vampiric Presence". Unless you want to give this another rework down the line "Banshee's Wail" will become pretty much a dead trait if you not raise its powerlevel back up in some other way, maybe increasing its healing modifier a bit more. "Augury of Death" has pretty much the same problem but would be even worse of. If i understand the notes right this traits only remaining effect would be to add some measly amount of life siphon to shouts. Thats unless only one portion of the CD reduction is getting removed, most likely the on hit part(?). Also the new CD for "Rise!" will prevent the previusly possible "permanet" uptime of shambling horrors. I get it if this was the intention for competitive modes, even though in PvP you hardly ever hit max. targets anyway and in WvW minions would simply get killed before they expire. PvE minion mancer builds, who already get far to little love in this game, however would get hit quite hard by this change.
  11. Hi, To be fair i'm not really sure if this is a bug or intentional but since i didn't see anything mentiond about it in the patchnotes i'm just going to assume it's a bug for now. After the last update the repeatable hero challenge in Arborstone (The Tengu) seemingly stopped rewarding a wiggle chest on completion. I asked in map chat and it's apparently the same for other players. If this is not a bug but an intentional nerf i can understand that but a small notice would be nice since it took me a few days to realize and confime what is going on. Especially because the NPC locks up for a few minutes after defeat, introducing pointless downtime for players that might actually still need the hero point.
  12. I had some problems starting the game on my steam deck last week. I am using my old account with the "-provider Protal" launch flag. When i tried the "-ignorecoherentgpucrash" workaround the launcher got stuck on "initialising...". I hadn't updated the game recently so tried to lauch my seperat f2p steam account and the game startet just fine, the update got downloaded and after this my main account, with "-provider Protal", worked again aswell when forceing Proton GE-7-29, which was most up to date GE version i had have installed at that time). I'm not sure how the GW2 launcher works but my best guess ist that the login mask might be based on coherent aswell(?). So i assume the game wasn't able to update itself but since steam uses a different login methode it got aroud that somehow.
  13. I noticed today that i'm having the same issue. For my brother it startet about a week ago. The last time i successfully bought gems was about 3 weeks ago. Back than i got a message stating that the transaction will have to me approved manuelly and it took roughly a day for my gems to arrive. Just in case the information is of any help i also tried purchasing gems over the Webside insted of in game and i'm getting the same error. It would be really great if this problem could be resolved before the current sale on bag slots is over.
  14. My suggestion for Gyros in the future would be to make them behave a bit like "Water Globe" (Tempest Water Horn 5), so still a moving AOE and Combo Field but no longer attached to the character. For a bit more flexebilety they could also be turned into a "skill shot" like Lightning Orb (Tempest Air Horn 5). The speed should be matching superspeed so you neither outpace them nor fall behind, but casting them would mean you kinda commit to a direction of movement for the next few seconds to get the full value out of them. This would preserve the uniqe feeling of the skills but make them less powerfull when not used properly.
  15. I just finished watching the preview steam VoD on Youtube and just wanted to say that i love this new style. This is exactly the Type of communication so many People of the community wanted to see for so long. Pleas keep this going on a regular basis. As for the notes im very happy with everything so far and excited to try some of it when it goes live. So far no red flags for me. Only think i would like to see is , while you give some damage back to CC skills, please include Executioner's Scythe (Reaper Shroud 5) in that aswell. Reaper could use some buffes anyway and smacking someone over the head with a gigant Scythe just feels like it should do some damage.
