  2. It's ok. You're quite the expert & very knowledgeable. I was hoping for an exception to a "RoadMap" based thread that would keep the discussion & in depth knowledge in one place, but you're correct about the rules. Thank you for helping me with this. We only see what we want to see...I'm no exception. Let's just agree to disagree & move on. Yours truly, Diku p.s.   4. Necro posting can be annoying...I agree. Necro posting to a "Game Mode Roadmap" thread, however, should be encouraged & nurtured...imho...but many of the forum experts here strongly don't see it that way. Necro posting helps to maintain a self-stamped timeline discussion while coordinating deep knowledge on a discussion of ideas that should evolve over time...and help show the path from where things started...all the way up to the current "Necro Posting". We need to have a "Game Mode Roadmap" thread that players need to tolerant of necro posting for the greater good of maintaining a central library. Imagine a library (posted thread) that provides a Roadmap for the technology of flying. Books that necro post ideas, concepts, and designs that make air travel possible will probably be found in this library (posted thread).   5. Personal observation & opinion here. I've gotten overly used to seeing discussions like this... Where highly intellectual forum experts here love to discuss something in great detail that ultimately & absolutely does nothing in the end. I might add it's the same bunch of experts...myself included. Over many years I might add. This is just cannon fodder discussion that's only purpose is to amuse anybody replying to it...myself included. Hoping for a solution, but would recommend that you don't hold your breath waiting.   10. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You are completely correct that megaserver feature IS in use. But this solution will not use the megaserver feature. Let me illustrate your point, but also ADD the missing piece to help you. Current Guesting = Players join PvE Instanced maps of megaserver Modified Raiding = Players join WvW Instanced maps of WvW Globes ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Current WvW Servers need to be re-configured to Own All maps within their Instance that can be called a "Globe". Current WvW design does not do this. Current WvW design splits ownership among 3 servers of a WvW Match-up Solution design requires ownership of all maps to be assigned to a single Server that would be "Raided" by a modified Guesting mechanic for WvW. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Re-Design New WvW Server's permanent Instance will need to be created & owned by a single server will have at least between 1-4 maps. Each Single Server's Instance can be called a "Globe". 1 - Map - EBG-A - Eternal Battle Ground 2 - Map - Desert-A - Red 3 - Map - Alpine-A - Green 4 - Map - Alpine-B - Blue 5 - Map - EBG-B - dynamically opens 6 - Map - EBG-C - dynamically opens Additional maps can later be added dynamically to allow for greater player capacity due to maximum "seat capacity" of a map. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- New WvW Servers will encourage players to defend All maps that they own within their Home Globe Instance, but allow them to weekly choose 2 Enemy Server's Globe Instance to attack. 1) Player picks a static "RED" Home Server & will be able to use All the RED based Waypoints in their Home World Instance. Enemy can only use their Home Server's Instance of "Red" Waypoints. 2) Player picks a weekly Green & Blue enemy then visits their World Instance by using the corresponding GREEN and BLUE Waypoints in the Enemy's World Instance. 3) Reward players for attacking only Higher Ranked WvW Server's Instance in relation to their Home Server's Instance ranking. Roadmap & Full Solution - Warning - Very Detailed & Long https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/89449/wvg-world-vs-globes/p1 For Fast & Simple deployment of this New WvW Server Raiding Solution that uses the "Guesting" mechanic modified for WvW. EB = Eternal Battlegrounds Red Home Globe Instance = 1 or more maps In this example we'll only assign a single EB Map to each server in both EU & NA. All other maps are removed from service. -------------------------------------------------- 1 ) Assign WvW Servers - EU & NA - A Single EB Map - aka - Globe's Map Instance 2 ) Require Players to pick a "Red" Home Globe Instance - Use player's current choice 3 ) Modify WvW to allow Players to Weekly pick a "Green & Blue" Enemy they want to fight against. -------------------------------------------------- 4 ) Modify waypoint - Players enter their Home Globe's Map Instance using a Red WP to DEFEND 5 ) Modify waypoints - Players enter their chosen "Green & Blue" Enemy Globe's Map Instance WPs based on color to ATTACK In Example: Player enters their Home Globe's Map instance using their Red WP. Player enters their chosen Green Enemy's Globe Map instance using their Green WP. Player enters their chosen Blue Enemy's Globe Map instance using their Blue WP. -------------------------------------------------- 6 ) Players are not limited on which Globes they can choose as their Enemy, but can weekly only pick 1 Green & 1 Blue to fight among all EU & NA Globes available. Players will have to deal with Map performance issues related to their physical location in the real world. 7 ) Players that pick popular Enemy Globes to attack must wait in queue for an open seat to play on due to map capacity...much like what happens at a popular restaurant where seating is limited, but customers are overwhelming in number -------------------------------------------------- 8 ) Players are rewarded only for attacking higher ranked Globes compared to their Home Globe ranking REWARDS Increase in scale for Lower Rank to Attack a Higher Rank globe REWARDS are "Constant" in scale for Globe just above or below your Home Globe's Rank REWARDS Decrease in scale for Higher Rank to Attack a Lower Rank globe -------------------------------------------------- 9) Players on Number 1 Ranked Globes are rewarded more for defending, but get scaled rewards for attacking lower ranked Globes -------------------------------------------------- 10) Players on Number 1 Ranked Globe are open to attack by all Lower Ranked Globes (EU=26 & NA=23), but are limited to weekly only choosing a single Green & Blue Enemy to retaliate against -------------------------------------------------- 11) Players on the Last Ranked Globe instance probably DO NOT need to worry about being attacked due to no reward being given out due to their ranking, but players on higher ranked Globes can attack the Last Ranked Globe's instance if they really want to...it's just that it will be a scaled level if not zero profit for them to do so. -------------------------------------------------- Example of Guesting used by Megaserver for PvE Instanced maps WvW Instanced maps are currently not available for "Guesting" to use This post is asking for the Core WvW Design to be changed to allow for a WvW "Raiding" that is similar to the "Guesting" mechanic illustrated here. Key take away from this "Guesting" mechanic concept. Allow Players to Weekly create their own Match-ups by letting them pick with their friends & guild which Green & Blue enemy to "Raid" If you can understand this . . . give a like & thumbs up.
