I want to play the game doing the things I enjoy doing in the game. If a mastery was locked behind PvP ranked or wvw I doubt you'd have the same response.

I don't like open world and unlocking masteries, but I wanted to play strike missions to discover I can't even get any rewards without the living world masteries.Why is the reward itself mastery gated? Isn't not getting the pylon buffs not good enough of a reason to get masteries? I have literally no reason to go do strikes despite wanting to. This is the first time a closed raid-like instance rewards are blocked by something like this.Seems like bad design, would love clarification - all this is doing is making me dislike the content I would otherwise like.

While sarcastic and exaggerated I think this is close to the truth.They have to make sure they don't break anything else while fixing stuff.And this combined with the low priority PvP seems to have, is probably the reason things always take months.

The only thing I disagree with in your post is the esports point.Esports is one of the main attractions to competitive players looking for a new game. With no esports many people I know just chose to not even try the game out. It’s literally the best marketing tool for PvP communities out there.Also keep in mind the money that went to esport tournaments was intended for marketing anyways, so what you’re saying is that Ads > esports. Others claim Anet is balancing around esports - this isn’t true anymore. Otherwise PoF specs wouldn’t be strictly better than everything else wouldn’t they? Except o. Rev but my point still stands. Balancing around esports would actually achieve what these people claim it destroys, which is lower the powercreep and add diversity, counterplay and complexity to the PoF specs. I’ll finish by saying I very much agree with everything else you said so you have my upvote regardless of your unnecessary bash on esports.

Very true, but I find thief still better because of the thief-rev matchup itself.Essence sap makes it a bit too favorable to thief.

No this is how you promote it.You fix wintrading by actually banning the people you catch doing it.

It’s not even a vocal minority anymore it’s a vocal 1 person who thinks they’d be rank 1 if only not for the matchmaking rng and getting carried by comms vs pugs LUL.There is no reason for 5 man to exist in ranked ladder, its goal is to measure personal contribution to your team winning. You can play with your friends 24/7 in unr and ATs.
