  1. these are all good Ideas, but knowing arenanet the elite specs will change very little if at all, but we shall see
  2. yeah, these sounds pretty good. but idk 100% dmg increase across the board might be a bit much, i was getting 4 - 5k crits pretty consistantly on all the attack numbers and some of the skills hit more than once. maybe 50% increase would be good, and adding movement impairs for the damage buff would bring it to 75% increase because as a ranger i'm constantly applying cripple and/or immobilize. and as far as the utility skills go, there is only one good one and that's Exploding spores. IDC about the teleport, rangers aren't supposed to do that. the heal would be good if the pet wouldn't literally melt all the time. pets really need like 90% dmg reduction for PvE as a baseline, and more frequent basic attacks. ever since the great ranger ban [because of bots back in 2012,] rangers have suffered in the damage and AoE department. Soul beast was a step in the right direction, I don't have a problem with dmg being locked behind impairments but they need to make it so that the profession needs to rely on others to get the benifit... that's just poor game design. I don't think Untamed should be a Direct replacement for soul beast as far as damage output goes, soul beast is high burst damage vs single targets it's great for bosses, not so much against groups. that's where the Untamed comes in, and with build templates being a thing now you can switch for when the situation demands it
  3. is anybody else having problems with getting max DPS with the hammer skills? it seems like the damage is gated behind disables which is incredibly hard to keep a target disabled with this spec. on top of that the disables don't stay around long enough to get max damage because the animations are too slow. daze for 1 sec, knockdown 1 sec [2 sec with wolf pet skill, 3 pig pet skill], fear 2 sec with wolf skill... fear is counter productive because the target runs away. I think movement impairs should be added, ranger actually has good access to movement impair skills unlike disables. maybe this won't be an issue with group content [zergs] but for solo content it makes it hard to get maximum damage. I know they didn't do this because the ranger would become too powerful, we have Gunbre... I mean Oathsworn now that does ridiculously ludicrous amounts of damage. I can see how adding movement impairs for damage would be a problem in PVP, but can't they just disable movement impair damage bonus for the PVP versions? or maybe just make it movement impairs for PvE and Disables for PvP and do that for the traits as well. I don't really like the Idea of constantly swapping 3 things all the time, it just feels like bad design especially when one of the things you swap share the same CDs as the alternate skills. the untamed should be called the Swapper or Juggler at this point because you are spending more time changing weapons, pets, and unleashed status now than actually using skills. and all three swaps have different buttons you have to press. and with all the things you have to keep track of in such a short window of time [20 seconds] it makes this profession more convoluted, confusing, and difficult to play than a lvl 80 Ninja on FF14. sorry to bring up FF14, but it is what it is. Ninjas in FF14 have a Mudra system, for those who don't know, that use 3 different hand signs that you have to use in a specific order to use the skill you want to use, if you screw up the order then you get patronized by a stupid bunny thing bouncing on your head. this isn't that complicated at lower levels but the more you level up the longer chains of signs you can make allowing you to perform more powerful techniques, but this also increases fail rate in high stress encounters significantly lowering your DPS. the chains begin with 1 sign at level 30 and like 6 - 8 signs at level 80. I'm not even mentioning the other things you have to worry about during an encounter as a Ninja, just the Mudra system. a person can only be patronized so much before they give up on a profession in favor of another one. Ninja just isn't for me, I don't want Arenanet to make the same mistake. this is how I would Fix Untamed. 1) Change the Name of the Spec, Untamed sounds kinda dumb when it give you more control over your pet. Call it Beast Lord, or King of Beasts, or Bestial Harbinger, or something better suited that Untamed 2) make Unleashed swap skill remove the debuff, it should be +15 dmg while PC is UL or +10 dmg resist while Pet is UL. Having a debuff as well as a buff just makes a profession feel bad to play 3) remove the Non UL hammer skills or unlink the CDs for them. it's kinda pointless to inflict a 1/4 second and 1 1/4 second daze when the alternate skill has it's CD linked to it. the same goes for the pathetic knockdown length. I know it seems that the Non UL hammer skills appear to have synergy with the UL hammer skills on paper, but they actually don't on execution because the animations are too long and the CDs are linked so this class feature is poorly implemented. it forces you to either focus on CC or DPS, you can't do both as it stands right now. Last I check only DPS matters for events as far as drops go so CC is pointless. besides aren't most elites and bosses immune to daze and knockdown? 4) Add movement impairs to Damage bonus for the hammer skills for PvE ONLY, power creep doesn't seem to be on Arenanet's mind... Dragon Trigger, enough said
  4. Rev is my favorite class in this game, the only class that actually feels like a GW1 class, It's sad to see that the Rev's get another terrible elite spec. The Greatsword is supposed to be the strongest power weapon in the game and yet I do more DPS with my shortbow rev speced for power which just boggles my mind. it's very clear what the dev's favorite classes are and Rev is not one of them. what's the deal with the 400k dmg warrior now? i guess it's the world boss easy button now. all of the greatsword attacks on the rev are utter garbage the damage is way too low compared to other GS classes, and the #5 GS skill is far to random to actually do reliable dmg, the hitbox for the #2 skill is finicky and small the hitbox is literally the tiny lines so it hardly hits anything good luck in using it in actual combat, the only halfway GS skill is the reused counter block from ranger GS and it's only because it gets stronger as you get hit more while blocking. Utility skills are generic and uninspiring, why does Archy's spear only hit one enemy for negligible damage? shouldn't it be a big AoE nuke? no of course not, why should rev players have any actual fun! and the main class mechanic the Dodge attack... alright this seems interesting on paper, but awful in execution [a certain quin69 playing a certain jumping job in a certain mmo comes to mind] the only thing this mechanic does is get you killed! every. single. time. it could use 1 second of invulnerability to get out of the chaos that is GW2 combat, heck even a half second would help. this e-spec will be trash for group and solo content because it can't hit the broad side of a barn if it's life depended on it, unless you jumped on it and then the barn would kill you. sorry for the negative feedback, it is what it is. this e-spec still needs a lot of work to even be viable over non e-spec rev, but kudos for trying... just make it better. attack dodge should always crit, that would be a start. the class gimmick should always do the most dmg for the spec i.e. bladesworn dragon trigger is OP maybe a bit too much
  5. is it because that's what's popular in fantasy right now? is it because anet has run out of ideas for the future of gw2 that they have to rip off a dead author's ip? is it both? if the deep sea dragon is really Cthulhu then according to every lovecraftian game then we cannot win and our pcs will just go insane by looking at him. but elder dragons are good for tyria so this means that is gw2 going to be a retelling of Cthulhu saves the world? is there any lore to support cthulhu existing in gw2? if i want to play lovecraftian things then there's a bunch of things on the market already i.e. call of cthulhu, the sinking city, cthulhu saves the world just to name a few. there are also cthulhu themed things in DDO [dungeons and dragons online] so i could go there instead for stuff like that. just what is going on inside the minds of the devs at this point?
  6. obviously pvp is out because of the shear amount of hackers that plague that game mode. wvw is out because no one really does that during the week. all that's left is pve which has been nerfed into oblivion, so unless i'm missing something then anet doesn't want its player base to earn any gold because they can turn said gold into gems and then use said gems to buy stuff off of the gem store which make anet lose money. there is an easy fix to that just remove the gold to gems option in currency exchage. but seriously is there a good way of making money now that the boss tp item has been nerfed? the domain of istan used to be best way of making money but nobody does that any more, so i assume it has been nerfed to oblivion as well. as far as pvp goes, anet doesn't seem to do anything about the hackers... obviously banning them doesn't work because gw2 core is f2p so couldn't they make up some kind of algorithm to detect them and only let them play with other hackers? or maybe they could use easy anti-cheat or some other program to help, yes we would lose reshade and what not but getting rid of the hackers one way or another would be worth the loss of the 3rd party extensions imo. it just seems like every time i find a new fun way to make money in the game, anet nerfs it into oblivion. is it really due to exchanging gold into gems? if so then just remove that option, then they don't have to nerf events and other ways of making lots of gold in the game.the only downside to posting this is that if someone does know of a good way of making money now and they post it, anet will nerf it into oblivion [most likely].
  7. Problem is that it's not dyeable and it also has that ridiculous coat hanger. Would like to have capes on my warriors though, like the Spartans! the coat hanger goes quite well with the awakened zealot outfit and desert king weapon skins... i love the Egyptian themed skins we got since PoF!
  8. the closest thing to a cape we have in game is the back piece "Banners of Ancient Elona" you get it from doing PoF story i think
  9. i would like to see Yul Brenner's Pharaoh Battle Armor from The Ten Commandments as an outfit or something Egyptian like it
