  1. Hotfix worked for me. Thanks for wrangling the new compiler.
  2. Nearly 30 hours ago.. but admittedly after business hours.. Everyone needs time to sleep.. This absolutely cuts into their bottom line.. they are most likely working as hard as they can on it and taking time to tell us that there is no progress is removing time that they would actually be working on it.. I'm pretty sure a significant portion of their player base not being able to log in.. and therefore access TP in any stable way hurts their bottom line.. so they are probably paying it a lot of attention. No, calculating time zones that would have been around 9am on the west coast of the US. So absolutely during business hours yesterday, but that's not really relevant. I can't imagine that giving some sort of update will take a significant amount of time away from working the fix, or if it would even be the same person doing it. I have complete understanding that they're working on this and doing their best, we're just asking for information. The fix will come when they've solved it, in the meantime they can just let us know what to expect. They literally did.. if you looked in the forum.. There was a post about a compiler update.. I understand that may not be enough info for you.. To me.. it clears up everything.

  4. I've been talking to support about this since 9AM EST. and it definitely was not something they knew about right away. not blaming him/her or anyone of the support but they just got back to me a little while ago with this thread posted. so clearly they're working on it not just on west coast time They didn't know that they updated their compiler? 9am east? this morning? because I noticed the problem.. found the post explaining that there had been a compiler update.. and decided to leave it alone for the night.. yesterday.. after 5.. Support didn't know about the compiler update? maybe.. devs didn't know? doubt it.
  5. Yes, it's for nearly everyone on mac because it was a compiler update.. which yes.. broke things here.. but is probably a good idea because a new compiler generally means better performance, security, and stability. It should not mean different system requirements. I say shouldn't but I guess its in the docs that reqs may change.. ideally though this just means that what processes the engine is more efficient.
  6. Can I just note for people that Arenanet are on the west coast and having unattainable expectations for fixes helps nobody.. the first time I noticed this was after 6pm yesterday.. It's only just after lunch today.. When people complain about how long things take they should consider what time it is and where they are..
  7. Yeah, that totally jives with my experience as well. I can make some headway in a map, but interaction with mobs or being in proximity to another person interacting either with mobs or just a utility skill will crash the game.. I can mount. I can do vistas and get WPs.
  8. I think there is probably an underlying reason that it is what it is and is formatted the way it is for a reason so, I don't think it would be useful. I could contact any of the people who commented in game and vice versa.. If the display name were changed that might not be possible, or immediately apparent.
  9. On a 2012 mac mini, mojave.. usually keep my graphics settings on low. but have high detail on npcs and other characters because it doesn't make that much of a difference performance wise.. either way, doesn't make a difference. whether you are in a map that has anything to do with the event or not. or on an alt not even through the personal story. I crashed earlier when somebody else did a utility skill. and then took high resolution off for other characters and it still kept crashing. I usually get decent performance and graphics that are pleasant enough to me. and my mini is nicer than the windows laptop I salvaged. So.. that's what I usually play on.. Caveat: I can totally understand the kind of difficulties a compiler update would introduce to a game that is already a concrete thing to many people. I think this is a very traceable thing that they will eventually nail down.. reqs don't change drastically because a software developer updates their compiler.
  10. Ok, so my input is that it's not even just on your combat. It will also happen if you are within close proximity to another player and they have a utility skill animation run. I think it could be any combat or utility skill. Just somebodies animation for whatever.. both have happened to me.. out of divinities reach and with that case in the celestial challenge map.
  11. Same issue. Which is frustrating because the first time I can recall experiencing it was earlier today. On an alt. In diessa plateu. which presumably would have nothing to do with the divinity's reach or the lunar new year maps. My main was in divinities reach. and of course it's happening there now too. If this is a known thing.. It should have been taken care of long before this. Being on a mac client is no excuse for this kind of repeated crash if they are going to offer a mac client to begin with. (I prefer it because my mac is nicer than my old salvage windows box and it looks decent. not spectacular but I don't need spectacular when it looks fine.) EDIT: Nope, can't even be in an instance; In this case my main in the celestial challenge map for 10 seconds before the client crashes.
