  1. One example I observed is in celestial exotic armor. A lot of armor has been dropped in at well-below market price. An earlier drop was overcome by the market and prices didn't change much so now, another, broader drop has been inserted and the prices, across the board are dropping by several gold. The timing and manner of the change caused my cynicism to tingle. The drops were very similar and seemed strategic. Anyway, I'll drop out on that. There's no conclusion to be drawn. It's intriguing, though.
  2. All possible. And if it is Anet, they're within their rights to do it, but it's a bit unsettling.
  3. Several moderately high cost items. It would take a long post to detail what I'm seeing and it can all be explained away. There are just some curious patterns that would be difficult for a single player to pull off and improbable for a confluence of multiple players to have done.
  4. I'm seeing a broad, downward push in certain areas that looks suspiciously like someone dumping to rebaseline those parts of the economy.
  5. Fair enough. I didn't interpret the relevant part of that page, correctly. My waste.I thought it was a bit condescending to point out the wiki, which is my first stop for anything I don't understand about the game. If it wasn't intended that way, I withdraw the characterization. Thanks all, for the helpful, if not satisfying, information.
  6. Snark aside, where is the relevant passage in the page you linked, that is relevant to the topic at-hand? The limitation is the subject, not just a simple association.
  7. I can see the logic in that. I guess I'm mostly disgruntled at having wasted resources for an undocumented limitation. It makes me hesitant to commit time or money (real or in-game), going forward.
  8. Don't ask me why but I made a second master chef. But after I completed the rigors of the development, I expected to be able to take full advantage of the what my new character had to offer. Sadly, I discovered that their (varietal) gardens, one in Hoelbrak, the other in the Applied Development Lab, are linked. Both gardens will allow planting, both gardens will mature, but once one set of plants is harvested, the other set reverts to "growing". I can only harvest one or the other, each day. I'm guessing this is because of the limits on harvesting other players' gardens. But this is not that and is not documented as such. If it were, I probably would have reconsidered the large expenditures of time and gold.
  9. As I recall, the enemy I was targeting did not die, though in the flurry of activity and many enemies I could have missed it. Your explanation has merit. I'll test it again and see if it is borne out. Thanks.
  10. Look at Bowl of Fire Salsa. It gives +100% Downed Health, +20% Damage While Downed, +10% Experience from Kills. The added damage and experience need no explanation, but the Downed Health is confusing. I used it for the first time, as an experiment. When I was downed, it popped me right back up: Winner. But when I went down again, nothing. Cool-down? One-time use? Later, while the boon was still in effect, I went down again. Again, no help. How can I know when I have protection and when I don't?
  11. The reward at the end has never been life-changing, but to get something useful was like finding a dollar on the street; a nice perk. Blueberries are like finding an empty candy bar wrapper. I didn't bring it up to say my life is now over. I just thought it was odd and unpleasant. Rasimir.6239: Yeah, I guess it was sort of a question, in that regard. If others regularly get food as a reward, then my history is the exception. If their experience is similar to mine, then perhaps the drop parameters have been tweaked. I was curious.
  12. Agreed. I get that. But having completed a few dozen maps without ever seeing it happen, then having it emerge as the rule, rather than the exception, is disturbing. It feels like a lot of wasted effort.
  13. If I recall correctly, it was raspberries from Fireheart Rise, blackberries from Iron Marches, blueberries from Plains of Ashford and Wayfarer Foothills.
  14. I've played a number of characters over the course of several years and until yesterday, completion of zones always yielded ore, cloth, wood or leather as part of the reward. My newest character completed five zones, this weekend. Four of the map rewards included berries of some type, but no crafting materials. I realize that cooking ingredients are legitimate prizes, as described in the wiki, but they are far less desirable than the aforementioned crafting materials. but what suddenly changed to cause them to be foist upon us at nearly every opportunity? I'm now not so anxious to continue exploring, knowing that it's not going to be worth my while. I'll probably turn to doing other activities that yield items which will make my character better.
