  1. There is also combo fields/finishers and phase time to consider. Using information is a good thing but you should still think/analyse and discuss if you wanna increase your knowledge about classes and encounters. Also there are skills that can fire multiple projectiles when there are more targets, example is VG with red seeker orbs and guardian GS 5. GS5 will hit way more when it fires multiple projectils in the boss hit box with targets around. Other example is spectral grasp doing more CC.
  2. No training/progression group has a job or intention because you decide so. When I train I will do it my way and I have zero obligation to you, its not my job to please you. So to the starter if you wanna do ranged join or make those groups. The ranged strat puts unnecessary pressure on the tank/hand kiter and black kiter. Especially the tank/hand kiter have crucial roles, making their job harder increases the risk of failure. The ranged strat is a carry bad ping/bad player strat. Tank/black kiter get a bad debuff every mind crush when they don't go in the bubble. If tank or black kiter gets knocked on the edge they died. Prides hit saul way more often when you don't stack on deimos. Build up way more hands/tears cause low dps. Ranged strat makes it way more difficult to deal with the difficulty spikes during add phase because you don't cleave and stack defences/heals on a concentrated spot. Raids benefit alot from stacking health pools/buffs/cleave and in case of new players it also shows them where to position, hence this is what you do in most fights. Some fights require splits but typically you wanna stack as much as possible. I am willing to do the ranged strat when all dps is playing dead eye and every dps player pays mystic coins to the tank and handkiter for the easy raid sell.

  4. Uhhh no virtuoso can do 40k but w.e. I know what you argue for and its wrong. You would be right if the top 1% would get consistent value out of catalyst. But they don't cause catalyst has huge draw backs ( the way hammer 3 works and energy). Roul even admits as much. It's not only boon disparity, some classes have mechanical advantages in real fights. This is why you look at logs and not benchmark numbers. Also other mmos like ff14 do look at the top numbers vs average. But let's agree to disagree, I don't own EoD and I guess we keep it that way for some more months.
  5. So why exactly are non glass cannons like virtuoso this much higher in dps then current catalyst? Why exactly are the other glass cannons ( that are less glass) higher in dps? Ele is almost non existent in the speedrun meta. Yeah the problem is rooted deep, in the skill balance team. I'm sorry its not difficult you look at whats possible with a spec, in real encounters and runs. And you would find out that catalyst was one of the weaker specs. They got absolutely no clue, dps tempest was strong for a period in hot and other then that ele has always gotten garbage. Almost every spec got qol, yet ele gets a 10k nerf and 0 quality !?!

  8. Can we name the elephant in the room? Its the low end amazon servers, which are still relatively expensive compared to other server providers. Also if anything we should test how the servers run without mounts.
  9. Can I still run two chronos?However I see that most LFG dont look for 2 chronos anymore. If you want easy boons run chrono and alac rev + qfb. Certain fights still favor double chrono or alac rev + boon thief.
  10. Scourge was definitely not top dps in blob fights. Scrapper burn guard and rev all beat it. There is a reason good scourges use boons stripped as a metric for performance though.
  11. Let me guess: you are on a high population server and / or have proper link. All this gets way less fun if you constantly find yourself outnumbered. We have few and ever fewer mechanisms to help combat size imbalances. This makes it harder and harder to get fair fights in WvW. 1 Mounts and siege should not have this much impact on the game. There is already a huge defenders advantage. Twenty to thirty peeps can definitely hold a T2/3 for a significant amount of time. 2 if you are fighting in off hours or a dead server just transfer. Actually if u have that many has the defenders have(at least the same amount of very close to it), the defenders are in disadvantege......... A map blob has like 70

  13. You dont play fractals do you? Weaver constantly outbursts slb in there if he knows how to play. You were talking about how raid weaver is bursty, which is true but its not nearly as bursty as Soulbeast/DH. Which probably is a good thing cause burst windows are longer anyways in raids. The daily 5 minute pre stack ritual, pre summoning LH/FGS, Meteor shower, tempest defense and the stance skip utility thingie is irrelevant here.
  14. If raids go non-existent I wouldn't care, they are not interested and are just a way for the "Elite" to kitten the E-kitten. The loot is garbo, the encounters are garbo and frankly Id rather them use the resources elsewhere for better content. Like a WvW overhaul or maybe like I don't know class balance? Stop wasting resources on an extremely niche game mode, and as seen strikes seem way more readily accessed by the community than raids do. But then.... that just might be because of the people within that section of the community? Who knows. If you want quality raiding WoW exists and that is ALL that game has been about and has been built from the ground up over the years to be master at raid encounters, Guild wars 2? Was never designed for such and shoe-horning it in was a mistake, one that continues to be wanked about even today as its population dwindles and continues to sink. Sorry, but its a waste of precious developer time. I dont care about gw2 raids in particular though ? The game is supposed to be easy. For quality raiding and tbh quality pve you join ffxiv. I would sign up for deleting all pve support and reworking wvw and pvp. This opinion doesn't change the fact that I rather play with raiders in strikes, cause they approach pve in a fashion that resembles my own approach to raids/strikes and bosses. The community you like plays a difficulty of gaming where it's impossible to lose. Ofcourse they are gonna be happy and all inclusive. When stuff gets real and they can lose precious loot they get toxic and form communities (wurms/old chak/champ trains/marrionet/Halloween maze/sw). Last week I made an all strikes everyone welcome, I did a few of those actually. People cannot even talk and say hi, if you like to play that way that's fine.
