  1. From reading the bug post looks like he got hit by lag during the phase where you have to use your glider. I can see how lagging out there can cause problems due to how the game handles lag. There is no need to do any gliding unless you are doing Migraine or Flights of Fancy. Removing gliding would eliminate any issues associated with gliding. There's one step in there where you do have to glide in order to not die. I know I died once when going through with a friend because I messed on the gliding portion. Edit to add: We were doing his story step so we weren't doing any kind of challenge mote or achievements. Just walk into the bubble where the NPCs are standingI'm not into achievements. I was just doing it to progress through the story. I didn't know standing in a bubble was an option. I thought you had to glide to get through that level. So when I got lifted out of the instance, I was... vexed. I will get over it and go back to it eventually (maybe). It was just a really long chapter full of irritatingly hard fights.
  2. Yah. Sorry if it seemed like I was cross posting. One post was on the bug/dev board for me to ring my bell "Shame! Shame! Shame!" and be upset about the glitch. My post here was just about "hey, Im a new player. this is where I am. I don't think I have the mental fortitude to go back and do what I was doing right now. Give me some ideas about maybe something I could do instead." That's all.
  3. Is that what passes for edgy these days? shame.
  4. I'm just sad. I got air vented out of the HoT boss fight last night. I don't think I can can go back to that again anytime soon. The anguish. So, any recommendations of what I should do now? Go on to LW 3 or jump to PoF for a pet? Go back to map clearing? Obviously all my work to follow the story linearly just went out the window. Any cool Druid stuff I should pursue? Thanks. Druid: Master 30
  5. Wow. That was anti-climactic. So I've been playing this game for about two months, after staying away from MMORPGS for about a decade. And I've enjoyed it. It's been good. But man. Last night. Wow. Going through stupid hard Eir and Pale Tree fights, and then having Mordremoth down to like one fourth of his life, only to jump on an air vent and be blown out of the map. Out of the instance. Back to the beginning. Yikes. It was about 2:30 in the morning. There were some harsh words. But then things got really worse. I got online to see if this had happened to anyone else only to find out that this has been a known bug since like 2015. Let me repeat that for effect. You've had a catastrophic bug, on the boss fight, of your first expansion, since launch. I've played MMORPGS since 96. I've seen a lot of f'd up stuff over the years. I've been pk'd and had homes stolen on UO. I've made the death runs of EQ. I've sat through laborious updates of DAOC and WoW. But with all of that crap, Ive always felt like the devs... ya know... cared enough to fix things. I'm not an achievement guy. I've been making it a point to follow the story linearly. I'm OCD that way. It's been good, but I guess that is over now. I don't really expect you to fix it. If you were going to, you would have by now. I'm probably not going to quit playing. There is no subscription fee, and I'm quarantined, so like... what else am I going to do? I just thought I would share my experience, and to let you know that I am embarrassed for you. Maybe over the next few months. While you're sitting in quarantine with your lysol, toilet paper, and rice-a-roni. Maybe spend a few of those hours thinking about stuff that you've never gotten around to fixing. I've needed to wash my gutters for the last few years. Obviously, there are some things you've neglected as well. Cheers.
  6. I wrapped up the personal story yesterday. Id already hit 80. So uhm… what now? My first thought was to go to HoT. Having run through the 0-80 game with little to no difficulty, I figured HoT would be the same. Until I was seemingly one hit killed by pacts of baby raptors two or three times. It seems like the game has gotten significantly more difficult. This is where I am. lvl 80 Necro/Reaper with 3 unlocks into reaper (also running spite and Death) . Im wearing basically the event gear from the personal story. with a focus on Power, Precision, and ferocity. And Ive made it through the 1 and 2 of HoT and am now stuck on the maddening, #3 gain mastery in gliding, which I have no idea how to do. So... I'm rambling. Anyway. So is this what I should be doing, or should I tackle something else until I have better skill or gear or some such?
  7. Just curious if there are any guilds or groups (or players for that matter) who have ties to UO - Catskills? Don't mind this Gen Xr. Ill just be sitting in the corner watching Hackers or something.
  8. One way to incorporate races might be through a evolution mechanic much like how they brought in Elite classes. For example: create a new event that takes your character to a place, at the conclusion of which, you can select a NEW evolution of your race... which they could then create new story lines for moving forward. That way you wouldn't have to muck around with the early game content. The racial evo would only show up in new content. Sure they could change some stuff... but they wouldn't have to change everything from lvl 1 forward. I dunno.. just my idea.
  9. So, I'm trying to figure out my roles as I level up in the Necro world. I've found the class pretty survivable because of Shrouding out with US. Basically right now I go staff and dropping AOE dps and debuffs when I've done dungeons, and Axe and Dagger dps when running solo in Open world PVE. I'm pretty comfortable with these play styles. Is there anything I should be on the look out for that will help along the way? Particular specializations or skills I might be overlooking? Right now I run death magic and soul reaping. (level 55).
  10. I just tell my wife, when gaming, im content. but my kids are 16 and 9 aka, "feed yourself age". that helps.
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. I went with Necro last night and went up to 16... Working with staff, and axes. The shroud spec is cool. Its just so easy for my hands to slip to the wrong keys and suddenly I'm just swapping weapons back and forth as I try to run away. That's just a flaw of playing on the Mac book that Im going to have to live with. Wouldnt be so bad if I didn't have to look at my wife's set up, with her two 27 inch monitors, and ergo keyboard, with all her, "Im a CPA, Im working.. blah blah blah." pfft. How does that compare to the need for fingertip reliability between turning in place and strafing. How! sigh. Thanks again for the help.
  12. I've toyed with a couple of them, but with all the end game specializations and masteries, etc... just not sure which way to go. I like playing the engineer in early game, but when I look at endgame content its like they become completely different playstyles from the base. I like the rangers, but It seems like the pet always has a mind of its own. I've played both of those classes up to 13-15.So I guess my question is what is a good profession to choose if you want an effective Rangy endgame playstyle. I like to do stuff from a distance because i'm playing on a mac book pro and the small keyboard has sort of limited how effective I am at movement, particularly when fighting multiple mobs. Any help is welcome.
