  1. @Rhein.8197 Honestly it is ridiculous to argue about DPS when GW2 doesn't even have DPS checks, in Final Fantasy XIV there's DPS checks, were if the party doesn't do X damage in a limited amount of time, we all die. But since Final Fantasy XIV is a paid subscription it keeps a good chunk of toxic people away, the experience is way more friendly. I never had anyone being overall rude to me in Final Fantasy XIV, quite the opposite, everyone helps each other and even if we fail a raid multiple times no one starts crying, we help each other up and go at it again, here in GW2 I avoid humans altogether as I do in any other game, due to the high toxicity. Thankfully the developers made it so we can play solo, contrary to a good chunk of MMORPGs.
  2. Competitive modes already bring toxicity in every game, however some people compete even in PvE modes (which also bring toxicity there), this is nothing new to the gaming community nor GW2. I personally avoid competitive modes and games, and if someone toxic bothers me I simply ignore them (is the best medicine), worst comes to worst, I report and blacklist them.
  3. no you people dont get it. we barely got through the story and I'm trying to get my stubborn friend to understand we cant play this game and should quit. Can't understand if you saying that cause you bored, or cause you find the game hard. Me personally believe it's disrespectful to say the game is to easy and should be made hard, a game that is supposed to be casual friendly. There's way more harder content for the hardcore fanbase to tackle (with way better rewards too), story mode should remain as easy as it can, so the entire player base can actually enjoy it.
  4. There's so much wrong with what @"Hanelotte.4863" said, I'm going by parts. DirectX11 Compute ShaderDynamic Shader LinkingMultithreadingTessellationDirect2DDirectWriteSynchronized Shared SurfacesShader tracing and compiler enhancementsUAVs at every pipeline stageTiled resourcesConservative RasterizationExtended NV12 texture supportThis is not even the entirely of changes and features that made it into DirectX11, I won't even bother to talk about DirectX12 and Vulkan cause I would be here all day, backwards compatibility was always a thing, but running DirectX12 on a DirectX10 GPU (won't let you use DirectX12 features).
  5. There's no denying GW2 needs a huge engine upgrade, which would delay content updates (which I don't mind).GW2 can look and run x3 times better, no one uses DirectX9 in 2020, not to mention most of the vanilla content looks extremely dated (low poly textures all around), something that was improved in the expansions.
