  1. Interesting. Seems like it might be a SSD only problem. I might also consider re-installing GW2 on my SSD in the future, so if indeed this is a problem it would be nice if it is fixed. SSD, 48gb here. Nice, I guess it will be fine for me to download again onto my SSD then. Not sure why the OP is having a problem installing on their SSD then. I assume that you only need the required 48 GB of space free on the SSD to be able to download and install the files, unless there is some compression done of the game files after installation? BTW You don't need to download it again. You can just move the gw2 folder and all its contents to a folder on your SSD, update your desktop shortcuts to point to the new location and it should work fine. Lo and behold I've found the issue that was doubling the size of the GW2 folder, and honestly everything else I move to that drive. I'm no expert on Windows or hardware/software, but it turns out that moving files from an uncompressed drive onto a compressed drive doubles the storage use of that file. The remedy I've found is that I simply uncompressed my SSD, and copy-pasted GW2 onto the SSD. Issues in Windows forums have come up before dealing with this. Credit to Vaibhav Mullick for the fix posted on March 25, 2017 on the Window's forums. And source: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-files-winpc/windows-10-copy-file-to-portable-disk-take-double/6aeadb59-f7ea-44c2-b876-94e1fa1e1b33
  2. On my HDD I have (sitting at 47.9GB).-addons-bin64-gw2.dat-gw2.tmp-gw2-64-gw2-64.tmp-thirdpartysoftwarereadme I haven't been able to install on my SSD because of the issue. I found the original problem which was a dupe in the addons folder. But when installing or copying to the SSD the space will reserve the GB needed for the file (in the case of cut-paste) and slowly eat the storage, or it will quickly eat the space (when fresh downloading).
  3. No I downloaded without signing in and slowly watched my 60GB turn to 100MB. Only it wasn't slow it was basically eating my SSD. Edit: I can confirm my .dat file is only 47.8GB, but whenever I try to install on my SSD it uses up 90+GB.
  4. Why does Steam say you only need 55-65GB storage for GW2?My GW2 folder is 95GB.
  5. This Discussion/Poll is for purely suggestive ideas for ArenaNet. I believe the implementation of in game rewards can allow the "content to be the reward." ArenaNet has added skills for movement with Gliding/Mounts with the new living world episodes... but what about collections for new combat skills or trait lines? Gliding updrafts in the Core zones, and currently existing structure updates to new maps? I created a thread back in December of 2018 suggesting a way that the fluff items in-game could be used to change the meta in interesting ways. I now suggest that we could be given new skills but will keep the same effects from my previous thread for this example: Deviating Bulwark - Increased defense against physical attacks, applies 2 stacks of self-confusion every time it reduces damage.Hermit - Chance to block all incoming damage for 5 seconds, for 5 seconds receive no boons from teammates.Sugar Rush - When you receive Quickness, you receive Superspeed for 2 seconds.Minor Sugar Rush - When you gain Swiftness, you gain Superspeed. 20 seconds of "sugar crash," self inflicted Slow for 3 seconds, and prevent Superspeed for 10 seconds.Storyline Skills (Account bound, not soulbound) Lightbringer's Leap - Self stealth for 4 seconds and drop a light field. (AoE Leap)Magister's Cough Syrup - Drink an archaic concoction that grants 3 stacks of stability for 5 seconds, and spew 2 stacks of poison for 3 seconds in a cone in front of youTactician's Bundle - Contains a bundle of skills (Shield (Block), Wrench (Throw), Grenade (CC AoE). The "Pact Commander (Support)," "Dragonslayer (Crowd Control)," and, "God Slayer (DPS)," trait lines.Requirement's include: Mastery LineCollectionsRNG drops from bosses/eventsDo you have any ideas about how "Content can be the reward," or any ideas on trait lines or skills that could be balanced?
  6. This is a discussion/poll of in-game NPC profession guilds. Would you like to see it? An in-game NPC class/profession guild would be part of the new and existing player experience, (raids, leveling, dungeons, etc.) it would consist of:-Class specific mechanics-Class specific builds for characters (maybe community led like build sharing in GW1)-Gear options (see builds)-Different playstyles-Advice on Combos/Chain attacks-Profession specific selectable gear and skins These guilds would have (for the sake of aesthetics) crafting tables related to the specific profession the guild is based on. These would be hubs and each would be based in separate, lore-friendly, environmentally suitable places in the world. You wouldn't need to be that specific profession to enter, but to buy gear and use the services you would need to be of that profession/class. The guild's emblem would not be the class icon, but a separate, lore-friendly icon. What do you think? :3
  7. At first, I was disappointed, "Why is the episode taking so long?" I ask. "I just want new content," I say. Theories emerge like, "ANet is using the pack to fund LWS5." Or, "they're using the pack as a kickstarter to the final episode." My common sense tells me, that due to Anet's record of generally polishing their content before releasing it that they are working hard on it, and want to make it a surefire win. But, listening to a certain song; something churned inside of me. Arena Net doesn't want to release it until the Game of Thrones finale happens so the effect of their hard work won't go unnoticed. It is a hard thing to be overshadowed and people will be reeling whatever the outcome of the popular television series. Whatever precedes the announcement and whatever succeeds the outcome of Episode 6: War Eternal is to be seen. If I am correct, I say, well played.
  8. It's radio silence on the matter. I also agree that if LWS5 are every 3 months it's FUBAR.
  9. I pre made these gifts for the PvP armor though... so it's kind of the same with the new ones coming out, don't you think? What happens to those who have legendary armors already? They don't get the new skin? @Ben Phongluangtham.1065 said: The recipes for upgrading the PvP Ascended armor into legendary will remain the same. Though, new recipes for upgrading the new armors, when they are done, may be added. We haven't decided this fully yet.
  10. Do you think we should be able to salvage these items:Gift of Competitive ProsperityGift of Competitive ProwessGift of Competitive Dedication Salvaging these items would be like the Gift of Fortune where it returns the mats in base form when you salvage it.
