  1. I guess leveling up and stuff isn't really important. Getting to lvl 80 is not really a grind, but rather a tutorial. A long bad tutorial if you wish. All gear you looted until lvl80 are to be salvaged afterwards. There is no much loot there anyway in the core game unless you really like farming mats. For fun there are maybe only Jumping Puzzles, ither activities are kinda outdated. I have grinded lvl 80 twice, then on all my other characters I instaleveled up with boosters and xp tomes. New players think that at lvl80 they are maxed out and the game ends there . But it is quite the opposite, GW2 begins at lvl 80. Maxing out a character from 0 should take maximum a week if you are playing casually. My advice would be - keep them if you like the characters, only get rid of them if you need a slot for a new character and don't want to spend on a new slot. Edit: Ignore what I have said above if you have no expansions. Just keep in mind that the expansions are the real game. Core game is a well made demo and a bad tutorial, that's it.
  2. Actually there is no waiting around if you can consistently finish the JP. Like everyone else I used to struggle with this particular JP, but now I find it quite easy. The trick is to stick to the right as much as possible in the beginning then relax as what comes after the big jump is very easy. And try action camera, it is quite useful on JPs like this. If other players are distracting you you may want to disable their name tags from the options. Good luck !
  3. People who knew about CC consumables certainly knew about thier CC skills too. I mean nobody called themselves hardcore because they were using CC sonsumables. Actually CC consumables could be much more useful for newbies, but they don't even bother looking their CC skills let alone get through the hustle of getting CC consumables. Veterans used them just to clear fractals faster and easier, that's all. I don't feel that they were somehow blocking ppl from pugging, I have never seen anyone ask for those.
  4. Honestly CFB is a very chill class. Don't look at tomes. It is no ele. You only use F1 tome skills to do damage while other 2 tomes f2 and f3 tomes are for support builds mostly. You can use them on DPS when you are in tough situation. Those are just bonuses but not mandatory to use. Fb is so easy that you don't really have to do a proper rota to do tons of dmg. Just use F1 skills then as and spam 2 and 4 to begin with. You can learn the real rotation in 2 days max. CFB has even less buttonmashing than soulbeast despite of tomes and stuff. From 100 skills CFB has u only use third of that.
  5. Honestly in my opinion Dragonhunter is not a very good option if you want something simple. I get what you mean about maintaining adrenaline on warrior or heat on holos can sound difficult but in reality they are not. What is however difficult is playing Dragonhunter correctly, you gotta always position yourself inside hitboxes for maximul damage, use certain skills on certain occasions, rotation is very fast and needs proper timing, many animation cancels etc... Honestly for me DH is the hardest power class out there. First of all I would advise you power reaper. I guess you will like power reaper if you like simplicity and destroying stuff. Honestly seen so many reapers humiliating meta power classes on raids just by the straightforeward simplicity and effectiveness. A nice bonus: you got a spin to win skill like Soulbeast. Second one would be Condi Firebrand. Chill, eazy and self-sufficient class with an easy rotation that absolutely destroys anything now. ANET's favorite class. Should also recommend power holo. Very strong now, and anyone who claims that holo is a difficult class "because heat" is at wrong. It is literally your only job when playing holo paying attantion at a very visible bar and press one button on a very large window. Way easier than soulbeast imo, as you don't have long casts that lock you in place, but does way more damage than soulbeast too. Today there is no reason to play soulbeast as there is Holo that does the same thing but easier and better. Lastly, why not thief honestly ? I mean I get your point on rev energy, but thief's initiative mechanic makes it easier to play than other classes with cooldowns. Initiative is the same as weapon cooldowns but better. Just try it out and do a thief rota, maybe you will like it.
  6. No, boons are not automatically granted to anyone in the squad. Sometimes it is about the proximity sometimes it is about specific skills like for example mesmer wells when you gotta be inside the well to get the boon it offers when it expires, etc... Also most of the boons are for 5 people and some are for 10. However having said that the boons are prioritized on subgroups then the squads. For example a chrnomancer casted an alacrity well for 5 people but there are 50 people standing in it. Only people in chrono's subgroup will get the alacrity provided they are inside the well with other 45 people.
  7. First of all I would like to advise you against metabattle as that site is always outdated and has nothing to do with the META for high end pve content. If you are looking for serious raid builds look in snowcrows or even better look into luckynoobs website for fractals look for discretize.eu . I honestly wouldn't play shortbow condi ranger on Deimos even on Ranged Cheese strat, go at least for the power one. Melee vs Randed. I am not going to mention other arguments that are obvious and have been noted in this post like boons etc... Let's talk about the mechanics. Here is the thing we don't have many raids sadly but most of them are designed around melee builds in mind. If it were possible to be out of range of the raid boss it would mean we would be out of danger and just aa the boss to death without any effort. For instance the last boss of w4 is kinda badly designed as a certain "ranged cheese strat" is possible there when a tank and a black kiter just kite the boss on one side letting the raid group to just press 1 with ranged classes and go make some coffee. It is cheap and not fun at all. The whole fight is about dodging the blacks and pizza attacks, what is the fun of just standing away of reach and autoattacking ? The whole idea of raiding is the challange it offers. I know of 3 other bosses that are trivialized like that, but I am not gonna mention it so ppl don't abuse it for "profit". However I should mention that there are a few bosses that are designed in a way that playing some ranged classes is necessary or at least handy to beat the boss. Examples are QTP pylon kiters, Qadim kiter, The Broken King, or even destroying the orbs on gorseval while not vital, it is always handy having one ranger to pew pew a little to cleave those orbs before they become too big. In the end I agree that having some more raids that are designed around ranged classes could be fun, but we would be happy to get any raid with the expansion, considering we haven't got any raids for a very long time already.
  8. I completely agree with this statement
  9. You wrote your question under the answer. Short answer is: PUGS. Long aswer: You can tank as a qfb too (which will do more damage but worse pulls. You want at least 1 firebrand even if playing with solo heal because of Stand Your Ground. If you are playing solo heal, then yes 1 of the quick players should go tank, and chrono should be safer and domi/duel chrono is even better. However in PUGs with low kp, solo druid is too dangerous, so whatever it is you will have 1 HFB there who can tank instead of chrono. Second thing is the quickness uptime. Gorse is too big and dps players should enter Gorse's hitbox to be in range to get quick from STM, which PUGs usually forget unless they are playing DH.
  10. You definitely gain much damage yes. On gorse especially you won't lose boons, it is literally an immobile boss, and a big one btw. What will happen in pugs, they will stand behind the boss instead of being inside the hitbox and never get the STM from chrono because they are too away. On worst case scenario the chrono can still go inspi and share boons without tanking, but I am quite sure it will end up with less dps. I would personally go stm with dueling+domi, but yeah it is ofc a personal choice. Anyway without toughness, you gain more stats anyway, and you are closer to teammates to share boons too. Consider also this: bad groups have worse dps, so the boons work worse on them. Losing 2 stacks of might on a dpser that does 10k rotations and a one that does 30K is not the same dps loss.
  11. I completely agree with you, it is definitely better to run 1 healer comp especially on gorse. But in pugs I wouldn't dare to do that if I don't know the druid personally.
  12. Ok let me try for the last time. Imagine you (with your inspi chrono tank) and your friend Jeff (a hfb) joined a pug group that wants to kill Gorseval. You did well, however the squad wasn't able to kill gorse in time and you wiped at 3%. Then your friend Jeff tells you "Hey Aizza, let me tank this boss, you can go dps". You agree, you stay on your chrono, you swap out the 150 toughness you put because of soulbeasts, adjust the build to dueling+domi and try again. You easily kill the boss this time as you have more dps to cover that last 3% thus carry the group. Was this example clear enough ? You shouldn't compare tank hfb's dps with tank chrono's dps, but the group dps that has a tank chrono and the group that has tank hfb. If you swap out the tank inspi chrono with another meta quickness dps you gain from 10k to 20k more damage PER SECOND. That is a lot. For reference on golem inspi chrono does 19K dps, power quick chrono is around 28k, and quick fb does 31K. The boons you get from signet of inspiration won't cover 10k group dps for sure as usually the offensive boons don't get big downtimes even in average groups. Oh yes please do check, you will surely find the same answers there. For example make a peak on the conversation under the #mesmer channel on June 20 /2021. You will find same thing I am saying.
  13. As I have mentioned in my post all dps supports were counted as dps. Though indeed I could make an exception there as a quick will lower the dps a bit, but still end up higher overall dps than g1. But just to compare on golem qfb does 31k, inspi chrono 19:K (if there is slow) in real fights the gap will be higher as tanking can mess up the rotas a bit.
  14. For SH and Largos there is a very good chrono build (that works only on those 2 bosses), I recommend using this build if playing chrono there with full Trailblazer's stats to begin with https://lucky-noobs.com/builds/condition-support-chronomancer. Ofc you can play hfb tank too on both of those, but you don't wanna have 2 hfb tanks in squad, so one of the tanks should go something else: either the chrono build I mentioned here or some quickness engie or smth. On largos you can just go 1 chronotank with portal and let your druid tank while you are placing ports. On other w5 there are many different options. Again HFB can tank all of them easily. On adina and Dhuum alacrev is best imo, those are very easy to tank, so anything will work. Especially adina is the easiest boss to tank you can just go soloheal Druid comp even if not experienced. For Qadim1 if you are playing with portal strat, chrono tanking is good too, very easy to tank with any class (if playing chrono, you need the power chrono build with 0 toughness, aggro is proximity based), in pugs you kinda want a chrono to put a portal there even if he is not tanking, and pulls are nice too. For Qadim 2 I prefer a HFB tank because you can't tank there easily with chrono without a shield, however boonrips from chrono's sword help there a lot, but playing with shield you won't do much damage, it is double edged sword. Actually for PoF wings chrono is not bad, just don't do the full minstrel chrono thing.
