  1. I have tried something and it has worked... I went into the game, and the black screen with "input not supported" was floating around as per usual... I hit ALT+ENTER and it allowed me to see a windowed version of the game, so I went to the option from the character selection screen, (top left) and changed everything back to normal... thanks for your help, (or attempts to help) but I got lucky with this.... Really shouldn't mess with things I don't understand.
  2. I don't mean to be rude, but the way you are explaining things doesn't help, and confuses me too easily, can you try to break down into steps what I need to do to get my settings back please?
  3. in your file explorer (if windows) simply type in %appdata% , then open the guild wars 2 folder, it's that easy. move the gfxsettings xml out of that folder, start gw and see if that already did the trick. reinstallation will likely just be a huge waste of time as it does completely unnecessary thing (recreate game files while they aren't the problem) and probably doesn'T do the necessary things (recreate user files which are the problem). most reinstallations keep user files untouched and therefore your problem will persist. I REALLY need your help, you were right, it has put me back to square one... I really need help with this. I need to get into the Graphics, and change my refresh rate back to default :(
  4. Well, I am currently reinstalling it, if this fails to work, I'm simply out of luck - and out of a game too it would seem.
  5. Sadly, I'm no wiz when it comes to understanding or finding files to adjust, w/e... so I will just try a fresh installation, and hoping that will set my Guildwars2 game client back to factory fresh log in settings.

I have been trying hard to get better frame rates for my game, and I kinda managed to, but I changed the frame refresh rate to 25hz by accident, at which point my game was unplayable because the screen was no longer at a refresh rate that could display any images... So, my issue is, do I need to do a full re-installation, and will that fix the game back to standard factory settings?
  7. This MAY help some of you out, and it may not, but I recently got a new isp, and with it a new internet router. I went into my router settings, couldn't find anything there, and left that alone, but what I did next has helped me a GREAT DEAL... I simply went to my permissions area, inside my Anti-virus protector, and added GW2 onto the "allowed through firewall" list, which means my FIREWALL no longer detects I am using GW2 (or rather it does and ignores it), and allows my connection to GW2 100% access to all servers and access points. Since I did this... NO DC what so ever! Give it a go my friends, it can't hurt to try it can it? - maybe you too will have your DC problem solved as it has done for me.
  8. Hi all - Not sure if a lot of people do this, but I wanted to update you on my situation... As you may know, I too had a issue/bug/error when trying to purchase GEMS from the BLTC... Now, I can tell you this, if you DO NOT make a ticket, you will NOT get the issue fixed... That I can guarantee you. So, to my update then... I made a ticket and got a response within a day, I was informed by the GW2 support team that they have a system in place which detects "COULD BE" fraud activity, by this I mean they have a computer alert system, which detects possible over-spending coming from your account, that surely isn't what they consider "Normal Rate"At first I was annoyed because I couldn't buy GEMS, but I can see now why it flags these purchases. It is to protect us, as players, from having someone break into our account, and flushing our IRL banks dry from in game GEM purchases.When I think of it this way, as a security measure to help us all, I don't feel so angry. My first purchase after returning to the game, was for a lower amount, I am guessing the lower amount never flagged the system and went through okay, however upon realizing I didn't get enough, I tired to buy more (4000), and the block kicked in... If you try to get more than X amount in a certain time frame, I think that is when the system flags your account and blocks your purchases, because it looks "Suspicious" and rightly so... It's not so much the amount you buy, but the amount total and frequency. Anyway, my issue is now sorted, the wonderful GW2 support team, made a few "adjustments" to my account, and bingo!, I can now buy GEMS. I guess what I am saying is, we need to be careful with what we buy and how often, to not get flagged by the system... think hard on what you may need, make one purchase, and then leave off buying any more for maybe 48 hrs... this is just a guess, I don't know the actual window between purchases. I wanted to let you all know, because I know lots of us have had this issue, and I wanted to share my information and knowledge of this with you all, and I hope that I have been able to help some, if not all of you, in finding a resolution...   11. Happening to me in 2020... Can this company really NOT fix bugs that occur? Not only this, but my AH doesn't work, and it fails to purchase any gems from the gem store.
