I am trying to understand DPS calculations so I can take my crappy rotation skills out of the equation when evaluating weapon and stat combinations. I've found a lot of information, but I can't quite seem to distill it down to all of the pieces. As an example, if I want to compare the DPS of a character with the same stats and sigils, but switching weapons and 1 skill I'm not sure how the math comes together. So, if I wanted to compare DPS for scepter shooting Dragon's Tooth versus a dagger shooting Drake's Breath, can I do that? Has someone already done it? I know I could go beat on the golem with just those two skills and get to an answer for me, but it would be handy to have the math to add many skills in and take out my rotation ability/in-ability. I'm pretty new to the game, my first level 80 was just a couple of days ago. Mostly looking for people to accomplish things with. I like to run dungeons, Silverwastes, and working through HoT and PoF. Would like to try Fractals, but have not yet. I generally play 8PM-1AM ET. I've done a little PvP and no WvW, but am open to both. :) I do not mind listening on discord, but am not able to speak so have to type my responses (which I don't mind as long as you don't mind).
