  1. Raids ARE for everyone, just like doing the masteries is for everyone. Claiming it is gatekeeping therefor is illogical. Go do what's recquired to be able to fight Xera and stop trolling. Also raids are end game content for people that actually understand the game on a deeper level or at least care enough to look up strategies and builds. If you dont want to do that then dont even try, because you wont come very far and neither will the squad playing alongside you. Its quite pesky explaining such basic things to someone who obviously doesnt want to give in to reason, but i did you the favor.
  2. this post had me disturbingly confused. "so gw2 lore and eod make sense"... okay... did people claim otherwise? "this is why i play this game"... okay... why did you tell us? "I have all xpacs and EOD but need help getting hero points to unlock traits coz I was absent from PVE and WvW for years"... okay... so is this the main thing of your post or is it more random stuff you just wanted to share with us?
  3. abyssmal marketing. i can't fathom how much money they constantly lose by not advertising this game adequately. mechanically this game is pure fun. it's so smooth, quick and neat, they truly hit the spot and i sometimes feel like they don't realize that. I feel like if they would introduce more team/group content this game could have a gigantic comeback. i always loved rushing dungeons and melting enemies, i just wish it had a bit more of the strike mission boss approach, maybe a bit less mechanics but with more punishment for mistakes. ahh. the dreams.
  4. Not everything youtubers touch or say is gold. Claiming 3-4 strikes equal a raid instance is the equivalent of saying 2-3 dungeon paths or 15 silver mobs equal a raid. That's an uninformed comparison. Or ignorance at best. Contents with low skill requierement struggle to stay relevant and in order to prevent that come with mindless grinds or a countless amount of trivial rewards (as strikes do atm). Raids have an identity, they requiere coordination, dedicated roles and come with mechanics that wipe you if you don't respect them. You simply cannot replace that with what strikes currently are. In that case it is not a proper replacement rather than just a refusal to deliver content in favor of different content. However I don't mind if strikes replace raids if they meet these criterias or maybe have different difficulty levels to choose, which would be a good way to please everyone.
  5. "with the exception of bosses like boneskinner". You beat me to it: Strikes lack identity. They're as trivial as a silver mob with a thick healthbar. That has nothing to do with raiding, even if they try to make it look like a toned down version of it. It's not.
  6. I don't like the strikes, at least not as they are currently. Most mechanics are meaningless, everything is super fast and seldomly does it punish you hard enough if you ignore it. If they go for strikes as the new raids I really hope they invest a bit more thought into them.
  7. Isn't, like, really everything in GW2 much more vibrant compared to GW1? If i remember correctly, they did this to attract more people. GW1 overall was much darker, not only visually but also in its story. I don't see the problem. I'm looking forward to stroll around in cantha.
  8. I have 7k+ hours, envoy title and every character on 80, almost all of them have world completion and all specs unlocked, plus almost 6000 skins unlocked, grinding fractal cms and T4 almost daily... how did you manage to put 8k hours into it without ever touching end content? Im honestly wondering, what does your gameplay consist of?
  9. If they somehow manage to make housing an integral part of the game like they did with the mounts I'd welcome it, but I lack the imagination for how that could work. Since skins and items can be stored in the bank / wardrobe I don't see how housing could have any depth to it except in terms of a personalized home, which for me wouldnt be enough to justify it. Apart from that I can only say that we don't know. There has been a part of the community asking for it, but there has never been a specific statement on that issue as far as I know.
  10. By building a bridge and then walking over it
  11. Malyck's dead, baby, malyck's dead
  12. More people are faking their KPs. Even despit the fact that killproofme now has become more regular thing i still join a lot of pugs that clearly don't meet their own requirements. Had a group yesterday unable to do enough cc, dying all over the place and so on. When I called them out one of them started to blame me lol
  13. What I dont understand is why a mastery point is locked behind the achievement? As most people already pointed out you dont need it to max the masteries. So why is it there?Imagine someone grinding all 16 weapons, you surely won't do it for the mastery point. Neither will you spend 1000s of gold for a mastery point. You'll do it to get the skins. So again, why is there a mastery point locked behind the achievement?I tell you why: Because ANet knows some people have an urge to keep the achievement tabs clean. It's a cheesy way of teasing their players.
