  1. I used to play PvP and WvW a lot, and quit for years until my kids got into GW2. I've been running almost the same build I did when HoT came out and I quit, which is just a celestial druid with staff and GS. It rocks in zergs for the healing and I run berserkers trinkets for roaming, it has GREAT mobility with QZ and the superspeed from druid plus 3 on staff and GS. I honestly don't see any problems at all. I don't even know what the elite spec from the cantha expac is, but cele druid has been absolutely holding up, very few people give me trouble in 1v1s. Oh wait edit: You also said PvP. I use the healing + power amulet for PvP. No idea what it's called but it got me to gold3 in the trials after not playing GW for several years, iiiiiinches off platinum on games I should have won. probly lost because of my own person rust. It's basically the same idea as cele.
  2. Same thing that was happening 8 years ago.
  3. I take a two year break, come back and first patch notes are bug fixes to every other profession and a list of nerfs to ranger. I see nothing has changed.
  4. What's wrong with SoR and SoS? Been out of the game for... I dunno like 2 years, but they don't look like they've changed any since I left. I've been running both of them in WvW roaming and been pretty consistently beating everyone (although admittedly that may because there's no opponent quality control like in PvP, the handful of equally experienced roamers tend to just stalemate and we mutually agree to leave each other alone.) I just glanced at metabattle to see what others are running, and it looks like no one is using evasive purity and instead only using WS for condi removal? Seems weird to pass up EP, that's a darn good trait since you're going to be constantly dodging anyway. I have noticed condi revs seem to be the class everyone is annoyed with but I haven't been terribly bothered by them.
  5. That's a cool idea. You'd have to give it a dodge ability though.
  6. Factions did give an elite beast mastery skill, although that's probably totally irrelevant for what the devs feel like creating for GW2. Would be cool to have a super damaging pet for PvE but they'd never let it happen in PvP (again) without making the ranger itself take a massive hit. Like your pet does triple damage because you give it 2/3s of your own life kind of stuff. That's not a fun example, but you get the idea.
  7. I'm not sure what to do with it, but the Echovald Forest in GW1 had a bunch of wardens protecting it. The ranger versions used traps and bleeding. Honestly I have no idea what GW2 needs since basically every archetype I can think has already been filled in one way or another.
  8. I've come back to the game recently and was wondering why the hell I was immortal and obliterating every class I went up against despite me not even remembering what the skills I had equipped did. Then I realized rangers now have barrier. B) PM and SoS + Druidic Clarity = Fluffy hopping straight into the dang middle of the whatever I can find. I should probably try to remember what the heck soulbeast is.
  9. Every time I try to come back I see something like this.
  10. It's that for sure, but also there are multiple very effective zerg WvW builds. No we're never going to be a guardian that is the staple of rando zergs, but rangers can absolutely be a part of WvW, even in GvGs.
  11. I have not done the collection, but I believe that's the very early (first?) event of the series. You go up on the top of the plateau where the "base" is by the helicopter. The second event is on the escort down a canyon as you wait for the slyvari to plant explosives. There are tons of barrels there up the stairs. Edit: You can also ask other players near you. Almost everyone picks up rifles because they usually instantly kill enemies they hit.
  12. Ya they're all over the place. Just wander around the map. You have way more than you need. Go south on the maps if you really can't find any where you are. If you're really confused you can always "cheat" and look at the wiki maps.
