  1. Just did Mad King says at reset. Did not get credit because of this bug. My Wizard's vault did not show that reset had occurred until I changed maps.
  2. Indeed, sometimes I forget and my Pavlov conditioning compels me to open the Arcane Chests. But, (for the most part) I've stopped opening them. Very astute observation that these might be a hold-over mechanic from the previous ex-pac. I did all the shrine guardians once for the Mastery points. I'll still do some of them as I pass by if they won't noticeably slow down my flow of play.
  3. You definitely have some valid points, especially about the Major Arcane Chests. After leveling the Mastery track and performing the minigame, I expected better rewards from these containers specifically. You could also make the argument that rifts need more/better rewards that are not tied to crafting legendaries.
  4. I've found that a group of 10+ people is optimal. You do not have to start the event to get credit. The good strategy is to have people run ahead and leap-frog the bounce spots. Also, the mini game gets harder near the end, especially at the stairs/ledges/shrubs. It might be worth your time to have a couple of people pre-staged at these spots.
  5. Saw a new bug this morning with the last boss/fight in T4 Sunqua. 1st attempt, boss stayed in the middle of the arena and did not move or fight back during the entire first phase (before fire phase). (We ended up dying during the water phase to the tether) 2nd attempt, boss still did not react. As a bonus; the swirling water field in the middle was still visible, but did not harm the group (visual bug).
  6. Agree with the OP. Case in point: Before I got serious about meta builds, I was using Soldier's gear. I even did some "research" on various forums, in which multiple sources told me that Soldier's gear was good enough for a high level DPS character. To make matters worse, the game did not make clear to me the performance difference between various stat sets. I thought I was doing great work in Fractals... Also note that ANET changed the level 80 character boost gear from Soldier's to Celestial... Stat choices could be slightly simplified with minimal loss of fringe builds by adding options to Character Professions in other places (ie the Specialization tree). This would result in an overall net positive for less experienced players in gear understanding an useability. It's important to strike a good balance in these systems between Depth vs Complexity.
  7. I did notice the X beam. However, it's such a small change to the fight as to barely be noticed at all. The oozes are.. there. But, IMO, they don't make the fight more interesting. As mentioned before, I understand if the devs don't have the bandwidth to give each level it's own boss. However, this particular boss has been recycled many times with small variances to its mechanics. A new boss would help the level to feel fresh and new.
  8. The Positive: Length of the level was good. Pleasantly surprised by how open the level felt within the cave setting. Green bauble collection was good/fun and not too hard. I enjoyed the level design and the interconnecting of the paths. Suggestions: Red bauble collection... Red Bauble #2 should have a marker of some sort to indicate the beginning of the path. Maybe move the mining hat and pick graphic overlooking the void (which seems to serve no purpose) to the entrance for this path. That way the player isn't given the answer. But, there is that moment of curiosity that might suggest a secret is nearby. In addition, even when I knew where the entrance was, it was a pain to get to the entrance... I would like a better end boss. Maybe that's not possible. But we've seen this fight so many times... The boss doesn't need to be hard. But, I would like to see new mechanics.
  9. As the saying goes... Question: "How do you eat an elephant?" Answer: "One bite at a time." Gw2 is a fun game. It's also a giant elephant of complexity. Both things can be true. You can dive deep into it's systems or stay as shallow and surface level as you want. Take it one bite at a time. Learn what you want. Do what you want. Some systems (raids, strikes, fractals) will require more of you as a gamer. But, you never have to play in those game modes if you don't want. My first suggestion would be to find a class that you enjoy playing and start from there.
  10. Congrats on getting your Fractals done! I'm just responding in case it helps others with the same problem. Most groups are put together for the dailies. You will sometimes see other groups fill for achievements, progression, or collections. The time of day also factors into how many groups you'll see at a time (evenings are typically better). You'll probably have more luck on the weekends. Suggestions on how to progress your personal Fractal level: 1) Gather your friends/Guild to make your own progression group. - Even if you don't have all 5 people, random players are more inclined to join your group when it's close to being full. People don't like waiting. Just trust me on this. 2) Wait until the dailies rotate to your needed Fractals. - It will happen if you're willing to wait a few days. 3) Join groups that are doing Fractals higher than you need. - As Vidit mentioned above, you don't have to run your current Fractal level. Completing any Fractal at or above your personal Fractal level will increase the number. If you have the appropriate Agony resist, you can join other groups in higher Fractals even if you can't personally make the group yourself. Cheers!
  11. I've constantly experienced this problem in Seitung Province. When I was trying to fish there, I would get prompted to change maps multiple times per hour. The map consolidation technology is hyper aggressive.
  12. IMO, gold making isn't "easy" in GW2. The game is traditionally adverse to giving you currency gold. You are more likely to get materials or other rewards that you have to convert into gold. There are many guides online that can show you efficient ways to make gold. Check them out and see what looks the most appealing to you. Generally I'd group gold making methods into 3 categories... 1) Passive everyday: Some examples would be farming your guild hall / farming your home instance / parking alts at special locations / time-gated crafting / etc. These activities are typically low intensity and bring a small amount of gold that adds up slowly over time. 2) Active farming: Fractals / raids / RIBA / Drizzlewood Coast / Meta trains / etc. These methods give you more gold in a short amount of time. But, they depend your tolerance for farming and how fun you find those activities. Some of the methods also require significant investment before you can even get started. 3) Limited time offers: Expansion drops / living world releases / festivals / etc. Some items are more valuable (or are only available) during certain time periods. Right now there are items in the new expansion you can buy / farm / craft that are in high demand. The price of those items will most likely drop over time as the demand drops and supply increases.
