Maybe the females wear false beards to stay hidden because the dwarves feel humans can't be trusted.

It's also entirely possible that it's a big joke the dwarves play on humans, because they've figured out that if a dwarf says it one time, humans assume it's true every time.

Pretty sure it's not your computer. This happens from time to time right after they do an update. I am also currently unable to complete a single boss event without a DC or two.

That type of thing actually happens a number of times for me...Where an NPC does something I disagree with (or at least mt character would), but I'm forced to go along with it because I have no choice. I'd really like to be given more choices along the way, but I understand that that would cause more writing, animation, and expense to Anet so see why they don't. I know they try to show the differences in Vigil, Whispers, and Priory, but it's really kinda vague, and has little bearing in your choices after then end of that story line.

The devs have flat out said No...it's not gonna happen. As it was explained, they know that this would cause the players to simply fly over all the areas, tasks, etc., as well as nullifying all the other mounts. And they don't want that to happen.

I think this would be fine as long as it didn't affect combat in any way. For example: Norn get +5% movement in snow; Sylvari get +5% movement in jungle, Asura get a hoverboard that gives +5% movement for 15 seconds anywhere, then must recharge for 15 seconds (or some such). But if it affected combat then you'd introduce a boat load of other issues, so definitely not. Realistically, I do think that Norn should get +strength, Asura +concentration, etc, but that would cause issues that I don't think we want to deal with.

I'm on Anvil Rock server, but when I go to log into WvW the Anvil Rock Borderlands are not available. I get EBG, Borlis Pass BL, Sorrow's Furnace BL, and Maguuma BL. Is this a known issue?

If the legendary came with the mount, I would agree with you...but it's a whole separate grind.

Well, at the risk of sounding flippant...it's because it's Tyria...not Earth. Maybe the gravity is too strong for extended flight, or the air too thin. Within the game, it really is up to you to come up with your own reason. IRL, the folks at Anet have actually stated they did this for reasons mentioned above: they don't want people simply flying over everything. The way points already allow you to bypass most of the content...I guess they want us to enjoy the rest. BTW, irl a chicken has wings, and can launch itself off the ground, but cannot fly. 'Course, can't hover either.
