Thank you Harfang.1507. Going after the Skyscale mount is just the sort of goal I need to get me going again.

I'd like to piggyback onto this thread rather than start another "Returing player needs advice" topic. I've been away for 3-4 years and have gotten a bit bored with FF14 and ESO (my other go to MMO's these days), and thought about jumping back in for the new expansion. I have 10 max level characters (I think 1 for every profession, and I guess I doubled up somewhere), all crafting leveled (unless they changed that), and around 1000 gold (no idea if that's alot). Here's a few questions. What's the best place to jump back in? Should I just pick a new build, learn it, and bounce around to the world events, or is there a good place to hop on the new story and learn that way? Would I find it difficult to just buy EoD and start from there, or should I try something else first? If I"m going to wait awhile on EoD story content, are there any benefits to buying the expansion anyway? Can I work on new builds and mounts outside of the actual expansion? Thank you all for the encouragement..... I'm now excited to get this underway. I've played this game alot off on and on since launch, and have always found I enjoy it alot more when I'm working towards a specific goal..... I'm not in a huge rush, and with 9 alts (1 of each profession), I should be able to knock out the currency fairly well. My main issue now is just picking a main again, and finding/relearning the build rotation etc... But, honestly that is sort of the part I enjoy about coming back to games after a long break.... cue up the youtube videos.. Thanks again

I've been away from the game for awhile, so while I've unlocked all of S4, I havn't done any of it. I'm looking for a good goal to get me going in the game again, but a little cloudy on how big of one the skyscale is, and if its worth the work, if you have the other mounts. Thanks for your help.

Also..... Have there been any major changes to gameplay in the past 12-18 months....or just any major changes in general? Any more expansions in the work, or just more living story type expansions? Thanks again

I havn't played meaningfully in over a year, but I"m sort of getting the itch again. I have all professions geared well at 80 and both expansions, as well as mounts up until the Griffon. I rarely participate in WvW or PvP outside of dailies. There's plenty of living story that I need to catch up on, so I think that would be a good way to re-learn how to play the game again. I would like to concentrate on 1 build/profession to really learn to get things going again.... Any recomendations for the best surviveable, fun build going atm? How difficult would it be to acquire the mounts that I don't currently have.... I think it would be the beetle and Skyscale (?), and then there is another for WvW (I think), but I imagine I wouldn't really need this. How are things in the game right now? Any other suggestions for stuff to do? Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.
