  1. Yep, the one the thread is talking about.
  2. The problem here is that while you can get the poi by bum rushing it, if the event hasn't opened the area you are teleported out in under 2 seconds. Sometimes you're tossed before you even ping the poi so you have to charge in a few times to get it. There is simply not enough time for the full channel process to get the lantern lit, mounted or not.
  3. The bank in a city is shown by a bag symbol. It's true that a frequent question in Map from new players is "where is the bank?" to which several helpful sorts link the nearest wp and say to look for the bag. But it's not actually that hard to learn where six cities keep their banks.
  4. I was going pretty fast on it. Full heavy soon after it could be made, several light pieces at a piece every week or two. RL has gotten ugly, though, and after making the light head I've flagged. Too low on resources, no oomph to run metas and exploration and convergences and weekly rifts to accumulate more. Today's post about the fun stuff coming tomorrow got me jazzed up again, a bit, and I did a meta and one map's weekly rifts before breaking for dinner and guild rp. But I don't know when I'll get the focus back I need. Maybe when I finish my non-GW2 creative project that's been a helpful distraction from Bad Things.
  5. Sorry to have misstated it. I have only needed to reforge ascended gear a few times over the past decade. It's easy enough to give the duplicate to an alt, or to keep accruing laurels, or to use exotic. If you must have ascended due to doing fractals, then you will get the accessories you need over time just from doing fractals as I understand it. They are cleverly designed to allow self-contained bootstrapping.
  6. You can also make your duplicate accessory equippable by changing it in the Forge so it's the same one but upgraded. The wiki has details on how. Just don't upgrade both exactly the same way.
  7. I don't know if anyone's suggested this yet. I'd -almost- put this in Bugs except it did get changed a little already. Regarding the "yoga" section of the Amnytas meta, specifically the hotkeys: There is very little feedback to let you know which move you have tapped. Originally there was nothing, you couldn't even be sure you'd hit the correct key. Now there's a brief flash but then no indicator while you are channeling the move. Yes, your animation should tell you, but you're in a stack of other characters and, if you're like me, you're very zoomed out so it can be difficult or impossible to see your character. On top of that I consistently have UI things vanish during the SotO metas, usually just parts of my mount, then all of my mount, but sometimes my hotkeys turn invisible within their borders. Even with visible icons on the hotbar, if I'm not watching for the little flash it can feel like pressing my key did nothing, as if I were lagged. It helps that Dagda always does the same sequence, and it is definitely great that she has a colored orb plus her giant projection turns the correct color. Would it be possible to have more indication on the hotkey that you have in fact hit it and are still channeling that move? Perhaps a brighter border around the key while channeling would be enough; a full on animated pulse would be a bit much with everything else going on.
  8. I have mixed feelings about the two metas. Heitor is much faster once the boss starts, and even overall, but the beacons part is annoyingly tedious and if done right doesn't even offer any combat for xp, weapon use achieves, or loot. Clearing the gate area is also tedious. Knaebelag has more variety and rewards along the way, but the minibosses on the ledges are also a grind to get through. I've tried soloing the beacon lighting in order to then tell others the bad part's done, come help. Sadly, the minibeacon goes out fairly easily so it takes enough time to light it and return for flame that the event runs out of time. I just want my Clots, so whichever is closer to finishing is the one I'll go to. Right now I will probably push for Knaebelag next to get that part of the April Fools achieve done, and that might be why Heitor's seeing less people engaged with it at the moment, they're also preferring the west meta for a small extra thing to progress (it only gets you another of the tonics, but it's *something*).
  9. *grins* Hence my "in the best way" comment 😉 As in we can already have invisible backs for free, and maybe we want to occasionally have a back showing with an outfit -- so using this means having to transmute to quickly don a cloak, or to have the cloak showing with an outfit but not with the armor. But if you *never* want a back showing with a specific armor set, this is a very good skin.
  10. The meta reward is also magnificent! And useless! In the *best* way. Now that I have it I will go feed my very visible cats.
  11. The only reason they could make it so fast was they had over 5 months notice on the requirements and worked on them throughout that time, so once the armor was released there was very little left to do to fill in the gaps. I was almost instantly ready to make one set because I worked at it during all those months. I wasn't sure what would be required to make all 18 pieces, so I held off on accumulating more. Now I've made half the second set and can make a 4th piece in it fairly soon, though some bad RL stuff has drastically slowed me down -- but it seems very unlikely to me that anyone made all 18 pieces inside of two weeks starting from scratch. Even if they used real money for gems to gold to buy the buyable parts, there's still just so much exploration, meta completions, and essence gathering to do it would be very difficult to do it that fast. (Yes, with enough gold you can now buy essence via the tradeable containers from convergences ... that would take a leviathan among whales to do, however).
  12. It's been making me glad of my many alts. Lanterns take some time to light, a poi is yours just for moving close enough. Plus, as I don't have BlishHUD, pois are easier to find because they show up on my map for a first completion. So my 18 completions are being done with fresh mappers each time. As a bonus this alleviates the repetition because I have different skills and weapons to use on the various events I join while mapping. I do hope they move that lantern out like they did for the Great Hall, though. Not everyone has enough level 80 alts to make the armor without dealing with the inaccessible lanterns.
  13. I would wait on that until you see what t2 requires. You might want plenty more essence of all tiers.
  14. Way back when in the vanilla or even beta days, they had an interview with the sound designers in which it was pointed out that when you fire pistols, you get different sounds of the falling casings depending on what you are standing on. If you're on corrugated metal as in skritt roofs, you get metal clanging instead of the duller thump from dirt. The sound design is sometimes hard to notice, because it's so very well done that it all just blends in to immerse you, but it comes from extraordinarily talented people with deep attention to detail.
  15. Hopefully t2 will address some of these concerns. I agree engineers are generally unlikely to be festooned with stabby bits (and those hooks sticking out aren't great for thieves shimmying through windows or rangers wading through underbrush). But on behalf of my very nice cheerful people-person necromancer who is a talented tailor, I have to object to saying necromancers can't be elegant. Necromancy isn't evil in Tyria, it's just another magic source. Would you say a mortician couldn't wear a tux or ballgown? Harrumph.
