  1. looks like someone else already proved that wrong. The problem is that ele does not reward you for the effort you put in to be anywhere NEAR as worthwhile as LITERALLY anything else (ok except maybe engi is a good tie but at least theyre rewarded for the effort) And now engi has TWO expansions BACK TO BACK where you are roughly the best self sufficient profession. Holosmith admittedly did require effort but you were rewarded for that effort, HEAVILLY rewarded. Even without a lot of effort holos were pretty darn good. At least they were always kind of fun with that photon forge. Now you have mechanist that does strike and condition damage, really even as condition theyre hybrid focusing on condition just like revenant, healing, and a highly sought after boon combo of barrier and alacrity, youre a top tier profession for TWO expansions in a row, and your first elite spec got reworked to actually be somewhat desired for a while as a quickness healer support. what did eles get? literally nerfed in less than 2 weeks post expansion launch over some unrealistic situations and conditions that rarely ever actually happen in REAL gameplay and in the process of that nerf they accidentally got mechanist BUFFED?! Before you try to dispute the ele nerf, anet literally admitted in the patch notes that they did it hastily and were wrong to have rushed to nerfing them.
  2. it was dead in instanced content and not worth playing anywhere. why would anyone want to play ele except to be pretty, when you can LITERALLY play any other profession, press 135u289 u0wj, and do the same or better as an ele doing everything. Elementalist was really selfish before. Eod launch catalyst was pretty decent. I like updated catalyst more cuz i dont need to play the game like it's a 2nd and 3rd job and i wont get early onset arthritis trying to be half effective as everyone else
  3. It's actually not *that* hard to keep that up. You don't even *need* max stacks if they keep true to these changes and don't nerf it any more
  4. *Happy catalyst noises* maybe it won't be a dead profession anymore! I mean in most gameplay it was pretty difficult to even use and I was getting kicked from strikes just for wanting to play catalyst even though I can still do better than the average player. (lol kicking me but then they die in 2 minutes anyway cuz they can't do mechanics) I'm EXTREMELY excited to play catalyst next week. Condition still sucks but at least I can play it again. Over the past decade of playing Gw2 ele has always been my favorite to play. I've played it more than anything else. This is the most excited I have ever been to play elementalist in that whole decade of Gw2.
  5. unless theyre completely reworking the spec, there wont be any fixing. it could be top dps and quickness supplier and people would still call it weird to play. because it is.
  6. I think it's a good change of pace from normal necros, but it seems people are mentally having issues accepting that it isn't the same. That it won't be super tanky (even though it still can be). It was literally called high risk high reward on the stream but there isn't really that much risk unless you build full glass cannon? In pvp ive heard of people doing a 1v2 and 1v3 sometimes as harb. I played it for a while in Southsun cove and it did pretty decently against even that champion karka camp event. It can be hard to keep life force up but that's because it constantly drains to keep your hp up. I felt that signet healing ability was fairly more useful than the elixir. For the elixirs I would use the one with might and fury and the one with quickness and then the elite elixir before doing a burst in shroud. With full diviners stats, it felt pretty good. The boons lasted almost twice as long and dps felt decent. For traits I used death, 3 3 2. Soul reaping 1 1 3. And harbinger 1 3 2. Full diviner stats. Runes of ogre I think, summoned the rock dog. Sigil of force and leeching. With pistol focus, this gave me pretty decent survive from the super quick high gain of carapace, some power from carapace, high vulnerability on enemy, some condition control, pulsing protection easy, more damage boost from soul barbs since we don't stay in shroud forever, the typical crit and crit damage in shroud, and finally with the diviner stats I could have 3.5seconds of aoe quickness pulsing from shroud. Thanks to the 9something seconds of boons from the elite elixir and thanks to diviner nearly doubling their duration to these 9 seconds, it feels like a berserker type of build that isn't *too* crazy. But if I take the trait that shares the elixirs instead of the pistol trait, it might even be considered to be really good. Pulsing quickness and dropping 9 seconds of ALL boons to ALL close proximity allies while not being entirely unkillable but still decently tanky AND actually having drawbacks (blight)? This feels like a strong but actually fair design for power. It's nice to have a necro NOT be an unkillable stereotypical necro. I did not try condition build at all. I don't really care for condition builds at all so I won't say anything unfair or biased about it 😄 Also I'm not that picky unless it's about elementalist (then I'm the absolutely most pickiest little snob sorry not sorry) so I think I can be pretty fair and unbiased about this.
  7. elementalist to get a longbow and an arcane element attunement (and everything that comes with an element. combo fields, auras, finishers, all of these with a new effect cuz new element) in the upcoming expansion. have it come with a little bit of boon steal and a little bit of group alacrity as well (maybe only applicable while using the new attunement) oh right, also for it to not be too terribly difficult like weaver was. when tempest came out of course things got a little more complicated but not too much, when weaver came out, jfc did that get complicated. let ele longbow be a little more simplified and bring a focus back onto the elements instead
  8. i've heard Tengu use the charr skeleton and animations, so it probably wouldnt even take much effort to bring them into game. i mean they already exist in HoT as enemies, which means theyve been worked on for animations and such.
  9. i didnt even play before reset until right before i posted this cuz of work. picked up yesterdays daily at like 7pm (my reset is 8pm). many other people were in the same situation. literally didnt play until the jungle wurm before reset. updated, restarted game TWICE, did shadow behemoth. no mining node. reset has nothing to do with it.
  10. shadow behemoth still does not drop node if you do wurm first. literally just updated then did shadow behemoth.
  11. btw people can be on time for the meta and still get forced into an overflow map, or late by A FEW SECONDS and still miss out on the event. People have lives outside of this game you know and sometimes just coincidentally cant make it to a map until a few seconds too late, why should they get punished for having a life?
  12. overflow maps are created for that name, overflow. except when there's a meta going on, that map doesnt get a meta, meaning DOZENS of people are basically getting denied the ability to play.
  13. "While the Search for Buried Treasure meta-event is active, Treasure Hunting Kits will attempt to reveal treasure that is not extremely far away when possible." definitely not in game yet. CONSTANTLY ping ponged between the branded section of the map and the frozen section. back and forth more often than not.
  14. im fairly certain you can do most of the story with next to none of the masteries.
