  1. I don't see that many "game dead" posts on Steam forum? I do, however, see a load of ADL-trolls posting multiple "GW2 great - Steam bad - Don't buy here" reviews/posts. Guess what... You got EXACTLY what you wanted: GW2 is effectively dead on Steam. GW2 are not even among the top 250 games on Steam! And yes, FFXIV, BDO, TESO and even Albion are all in the top 100: Why would a new MMO prospect look any further? The "trolls" that hurt GW2 on Steam were the "GW2 great - Steam BAD" crowd!
  2. Read the first 2 pages. I still find the kneejerk reactions on this forum strange. And no: I am not going to analyze every post over 12-13 pages because a person expressed that he would LIKE something (not a demand!) in this game. The replies just seems strange!
  3. GW2 forum is strange! OP (and others) express hope for repeatable, soloable, challenging content outside of the non-repeatable story. They are, almost immediately, "beat down" with the arguments: "This is an mmo go play another game." "If Anet spends ressources on this, then MY preferred content may suffer." "90-99% of the game is already soloable". (Combine that with point 1 for a mild laugh) It seems that whenever a (possibly) new player airs: "Hey, I think it would be nice if we could have this!" - The GW2 forum defense league immediately goes to DEFCON 2. Seriously: WTF? Try to apply a modicum of the reason you slap the OP with and EXPLAIN (opposed to kneejerk "this is mmo" or "Anet earnings") why you are certain the OP's idea would be so terrible. More options are not inherently bad. Not even if you are a NC-Soft shareholder (as some forum warrs seem to be). Oh BTW: I am not going to complain (or post) about reactions of the natives. I consider them literally. Example:: Confused = Short span of attention, gullible, easily sidetracked. 😉
  4. That's a YOU need - Not a WE need. I'll bet Anet is primarily catering to the "wants" of the player segment that pay the larger part of the overall bill.
  5. Well Anet threw a lot of rats towards "streamers" a few years ago. (You know, back when they also tried to pitch GW2 as an E-sport...) I don't get people following "streamers" or "social media influencers" either - But I do acknowledge it's a thing, and something that might be relevant when you are marketing a computer game. I guess it would be fair to say that Anet is very good at controlling their marketing content: Being absent is a controlled choice.
  6. Thanks man - In a few words you managed to provide a perfect definition of "condescending" There isn't anything condescending about that post. Player A doesn't like the (in his opinion) diminished social aspect of GW2 compared to GW1. That's not an objective evaluation, nor did Anet explicitly define what the social aspect of GW2 compared to GW1 would be when GW2 was released. In otherwords, that's Player A's own imposed requirements based on his own subjective opinion; no reasonable person would ever expect Anet to be able to achieve that for all players in the first place. Even by his and others own admission, that social aspect in GW1 no longer exists either, so it's a moot point to begin with. True: Anet did not define social apects between Guild Wars and GW2 prior to GW2 release. However, they DID tell us they would bring the things we liked in Guild wars into GW2... Some of us are still waiting for that to happen. It's fine if you feel you don't post in a condescending manner - That does not mean your posts doesn't come off as condescending!(Take a look at some of Vayne's post: I may have very different feelings about a topic but he always post in a respectful/never condescending manner)
  7. Thanks man - In a few words you managed to provide a perfect definition of "condescending"Also: (What seems to be) your personality is why some of us tells friends/family: Don't bother - Game is mostly ok, community though, is: Love it or stay the hell away!
  8. OK, Fair enough: No reason to pay heed to whatever devs we trusted say? If your special kind of reality is the "truth": Why the hell would we give 2 kittens about anything SPECIFICALLY Anet devs says? Most devs actually deliver on what they present/hype pre-launch or suffer because they, essentially, lied! Guess again - I started beta with a full HoM - Now please tell me about those amazing/groundbreaking features I never spotted during beta or launch?
  9. Yeah - We were a bunch of fools for actually "taking , them" - The people who made a great CORPG we loved for years, on their "word" ? - WTF? Seriously? Yeah - Got my dented, half broken rosetinted Guild Wars glasses on - You could do well if you polish that special GW2 version you wear :-)
  10. Boardgames/card games are hardly obsolete. Magic: The gathering had an estimated playerbase of 20 milion in 2015. Most digital games would love that kind of playerbase :) OP clearly meant a digital CCG - I doubt Anet would have the expertise to produce a solid CCG and their IP is simply not strong enough to get away with a halfbaked random CCG like Hearthstone.
