You telling me lolBut seriously condi as a whole in this game is a problem there is to much condition application and not enough removal in the game to manage it even with a team at times. even a game that seperates pvp and pve instances and applications of skills cant seem to fix it and thats also a problem. but over the years im pretty sure we can all agree anet only care about the pve since their pvp devs are really caring about pvp. Its been this way since launch this is the worse pvp game ive ever played in an mmo and i play SWTOR pvp and I even feel thats better managed and DCUO for gods sake is better managed pvp.

Yea i figured but with the change I made from S/D to S/P for burst I have had good damage and with some reflexes and good judgement I learned I can survive a bit better with blinds and stealth with rifle dodge. I run Haste but still trying to figure if I want to take it out for Smoke Screen or a signet or something else I dont know yet. and I have been messing with Acro, DA, or SA seeing how they can mesh with Trick and DE as well. So far it just depends on what is best for the situation but I tend to run more DA and Acro most so than SA right now since I like the poison to slow down my targets healing so I can burst them down. If you want BQoBK, it's necessary to take Trickery for Steal CDR. In this case, you will need to build DA/Trick/DE. In this build, you should keep Haste especially if you're going to take Trickster. It's less overall damage, but it's more tactical. However, I will never use this build with S/D or S/P. Swindler's is a just too good to pass if I'm using a sword. If you're going to take DA for the poison, then yeah, swap Haste with something else. IMO, Acro is a staple choice if you want to use a sword, so in your build, I think you made the right choice of DA/Acro/DE. However, choosing DA/Acro/DE lessen the frequency of Quickness (No Steal CDR). If that's no longer your aim, then swap out BQoBK for M7.I was thinking more along the lines of Trick/ Acro/ DE to build around so I can squeeze the most damage out of sword but I give up poison and some healing and damage on Mark but I'm sorta ok with that.

  4. thank you for the vid! im using haste with be quick or be killed so I can keep up good quickness times. You vid is a good reference to go off of to see if im doing things right I even decided though to go with Trickery/ Acro/ Deadeye I did a few rounds and Im performing pretty well but need more condi cleanse outside of just shadowstep but I am still pretty durable with the help from my dodges and smoke screen if things get rough. Im going to give your build a go though.

Thanks for all the feedback and video on double casting cantrips I did lean towards using rifle more as a main weapon but it does fit my play style to be able to switch up between the rifle and s/d. A lot more engagement for me than just using shortbow to move around and s/d to fight. Im trying to see how Be Quick or Be Killed and Haste works out for me with Payback in PvP/WvW im just not use to when to use my haste and my burst windows on targets and I feel i just waste it since most things can kill a Thief with 1-3 hits. Especially Soulbeasts I have a huge issue with.

Hello all I was just wondering if someone could give me some tips on how to play S/D Deadeye I've been trying some new stuff out by dropping Acro in favor of deadeye since I feel they play pretty similarly but I dont know if im doing it right for PvP/WvW. I tried looking at videos for it but I didn't really pull much up besides some montage videos but really didnt explain much. Thanks all in advance.
  7. I see your point. I ran with SA for the stealth and it helps but ive gotten better at playing S/D so I use DA for the Poison since the heal from Mug didn't do much for me in saving my life IMO. Now i just bounce between Blinding Powder and Smokescreen depending on if I want to stay and hang out and fight longer or stealth for a quick daze. Even Smokescreen im seeing sometimes i get hit depending on if they hit me with some explosion like a holosmith blowing every cooldown they have to nail me so im trying more Blinding Powder. Still is fun with SA to survive a bit and harass until my teammates show up to assist. You can of course use anything you like, but know that the build you are talking about, power core s/d, was built to decap, boonrip and to +1, so neither smokescreen nor Blinding Powder complements it just as SA doesn't for the very same reason.However as I said you can use whatever you like, just mentioning those points in case you were wondering about why S/D is Meta.Yea I understand why its Meta. I just was wondering since im trying to make a build thats just as viable in PvP/ WvW as the Meta build. I know I want to get the most out of my thief so I need to use a little imagination. Since I take the term "Meta" more so as "Basic go to build" if I wanted to do ok in those areas but I always feel like Meta builds or all builds for that matter always have room to grow.

  9. What do you guys use now with the new changes to SA? just a question I asked among my friends and Guild mates and wanted to get the opinions of the community. I tend to bounce between the two but ive been lately leaning towards more SA the stealth and cooldown reductions to smokescreen and shadowstep seem to help me out a lot in Pvp. Im also not running Condi S/D so i feel DA might be missed on me even though the extra poison is super good.

If support healer thief is now a real thing then i'm happy for those who wanted to support more in PvP/WvW but i'm looking forward to healing skills stealth you and healing while shadow stepping. The applications to that are amazing when you compare it with just healing from mug. If you are a S/D thief for example you with have Steal, Sword 2, and Shadow Step utility skill all healing you even if you give up damage and poison for the trade off. Knowing Anet its going to be shadow step to target get only 200 hp allies get 400 hp and ruin it but I can't wait to see how some of the traits turn out.
  11. Ok i'm trying to learn it now to get use to the set and i can see the choking gas has been helping a lot even when I just fire it off in a large group but I get focused down when I do it. PvP is a little new to me still anyway so its just practice that I need. I really do like all the tips and feedback since I really was confused as to why it was used.
  12. Ok thats kinda sad though being that its only took for one skill. Even though im taking P/P for unload but at least I can interrupt with that and blind with it. I'll give it a shot though all the same and see if I like it. I dont have problems in P/P S/D when I PvP but since im not using Daredevil anymore it is hard to get around. Thanks for all the info if I like it then ill use Shortbow but I rather be "useless" playing something I like than be "viable" playing something I hate.
  13. Hello everyone title pretty much sums it up. I wanted to make a S/D build and realize that nothing really changed to much with it and it looks like core is still the main way to play the build but for a secondary weapon I've been seeing shortbow being used pretty much exclusively. I was wondering why? I don't really understand the weapon much and if there is something I've been missing I want to know what it is. I've been using P/P for the fun of it because unload is great when people don't block or unaware of the massive damage dump. Just shortbow seems to be the go too for everything no matter what it is and I just want to know what it brings.
  14. I wish they made an actual brawler like with fist weapons make them move fast but have counter abilities and guard abilities. It rewards for active play but those who don't pay attention get creamed. Since they dont want to up out sustain in fight we can at least get a block and counter skill coupled with our dodges. We will have a middle ground with core thief, a nimble fighter with dare devil, long range with dead eye and a new brawler. Maybe call it martial artist or something the name can change. Introduce it in an expansion with cantha and make steal something called blindside which you run up to your opponent and stun them for a second or 2.
