  1. Are you seriously dissecting the entirety of my post just because I vented frustration and are trying to dismiss everything I said? The part that doesn't work for me now is the fact that the abilities have a multiple-page cost (several abilities) and now it's shared across all three tomes. I built my character entirely around the idea of mainly rotating between the three tomes with some of the main-hand axe attacks+focus abilities sprinkled in between. Add to that the Renewed Focus(?) Elite that reset all the cooldowns for the tomes and I was happy. Now I cannot rotate between the tomes. Now there is legit no way for me to recover my old FB playstyle. The class mechanic's been turned into something that's been nerfed so hard (in my opinion) that /For me at least/ it's a matter of "Literally why bother now?" Now I have so few charges that I would actively avoid even touching it. I would have been fine if they nerfed the abilities a little bit. But the way they reworked the charges is horrendous. The main problem is as I stated/ that the pages aren't tome-dependent, AND that some abilities cost more than one page. Also, please. Don't be so asinine and pedantic about the way I speak about my profession's mechanic. Good grief. So I gave you my reasons. Are you going to dissect this completely too and dismiss it?
  2. I'd rather have my charges back to being tome-dependant, rather than the crap we have now. I legit cannot play my Firebrand the way I literally built her to play anymore. Apparently 'flexibility' is something you punish now. Apparently now I'm punished for... uhh.. *checks notes* Using my profession mechanic and centralizing around it? Punished for playing my class? Gotcha. This is honestly the first time I've ever uninstalled a game due to a patch.
  3. I hate this. I hate this entire Firebrand rework with all my heart. It's killed all my will and eagerness to play my Guardians. I /LOVED/ playing a Tome-centric guardian that constantly swapped between them. I LOVED it. And now it's been butchered. I can't play the way I literally /BUILT/ my Guardian to play. No matter how I've tried to change my traits around (even with the Renewed Focus(?) Elite skill, my enjoyment and ability to play how I built is irreparably destroyed and cannot be salvaged. I.. I'm sorry? Since when was flexibility something you punish? Why do you punish us for /literally using our mechanic or even building for it/? I can barely even tap into my own class mechanic now! Could it have been balanced a bit better? /Maybe/. But to completely butcher the entire elite spec like this? Are you kidding me? Please. Please reconsider.
  4. My main criticisms are that: One, it's another upclose spec, and that other weapons should be adjusted to feel viable with the Catalyst. Using a ranged weapon (such as scepter) feels almost a bit pointless, but I can work with it. The Jade Sphere losing ALL of its charge when you deactivate it early, let alone when it doesn't last long at all on its own.
  5. As an Ele player, I'm just praying they don't make this upcoming elite spec another stupid 'Up close brawler'. And specially not liking what I'm seeing so far; especially regarding how every other spec so far is so heavily mobility based. I do NOT like the idea of getting constantly thrown around by just using my own skills. We're Elementalists. We're mages. Scholars. The squishiest of the squishies (in terms of health and overall durability as far as I'm aware). What in the hell are we doing up close and personal?
  6. Am I the only one who actively /does NOT/ want an up-close melee elite spec? We already got that with Weaver and its sword. I want an elite spec that actually keeps us at range. Since... You know... elementalists have the lowest HP of scholar-types and are fragile mages? The heck are we doing in melee range?
  7. Is anyone else wishing we could get back the old animations from the former 'Tome of Wrath' and 'Tome of Courage' skills? I don't even mean the skill actions themselves. I'm referring to the huge, floating grimoires that hovered in front of us; not only was it more interesting, but I feel like it made more sense since we were, y'know... actively using the book. Is there any chance we could get those animations back, to replace the current animations on the Virtue Tomes for Firebrand?
  8. Honestly, this feels like such a nitpick when I think about it. When I was playing my Firebrand a year or so ago, I actually used primarily mantras on my hotbar (I don't care about the so-called 'Meta'. I use skills that I like). I liked my character reciting a chant. I LIKED how I had to charge it up and prepare it ahead of time. I liked the ammunition method of how the final charge was a powered up version. But now? Now, mantras feel... unimpactful. They feel so incredibly bland and boring to me now. And half the time I can't even tell if I've used them. Far less animation, nowhere near as pretty.. character's not reciting voice lines. Like.. what? Did they just abruptly trash several skill icons, animations and voice lines in favor of something far more boring? Where did those go? I'm sad.
