  1. While Anet is trying to fix the que bug, we may as well overhaul the entire system. The following changes are most needed 1. Auto-running should not count as activity. Straight-forward change. You can no longer perpetually afk in a map without being removed simply by autorunning into a wall. 2. Queuing is now account wide . Changing characters no longer forfeits your que. This allows players that want to enter WvW on a specific class to do Spvp/PvE on other characters. Should make the game more active. 3. Allow players to "Pass" on a que. A player who is alerted that their que is ready, is allowed to "pass" their que. A pass simply swaps their que position with the person right behind them. So if you are in a SPvP match or doing some other content you can let the next person go while you finish up your content and only have to wait a small amount of time for your que to pop. To prevent abuse, maybe allow only 2 passes. 4. Time to accept que significantly reduced to 1 minute. This one is probably the most controversial, but is probably necessary to allow #3 to happen. The current grace period is absurdly long at approximately 4 minutes, so just a few people afking at the front line can stall an entire map 15+ minutes. The system is too generous for hard-core afkers and at the expense of people that are ready to immediately engage with the WvW map.
  2. Or just get rid of it. It's objectively the least played, and most disliked map.
  3. Those that crafted 6 runes are not being disadvantaged. The functionality of having 6 legendary runes (before relics) is the exact same as having 6 legendary runes+1 legendary relic.
  4. I would normally save myself the effort, but necroing isn't allowed. Lets do a basic assessment of where we are at. This project has been in development for how long? 6 or 7 years? During that time what specific progress points have actually been met? We still cannot assign people/guilds/alliances to the correct shard, and we haven't even gotten to the more nuanced elements like population balance based on coverage or other player metrics. In terms of misassignment, this beta is definitely worse than the previous couple, and those weren't particularly great either. If anything it seems like the beta is getting worse and based on our rate of progress this project is never going to be finished. I've made threads before about how Anet has a poor track record when it comes to releasing overly ambitious wvw projects (desert bl, eotm, ect). Given the budget and resource constraints of the WvW team, lets be honest with ourselves. The current WvW team is not sufficiently staffed (and IMHO lacking a competent manager) to redesign/reprogram the entire WvW server infrastructure. At this point we are just wasting developmental resources towards a vision that is not achievable (and even if it was, its not even clear that most people prefer it anyway). We should be devoting all available resources to improving match-up rewards, balancing combat, and reworking siege and other objectives. Two of these are relatively 'simple' projects that would be incredibly popular to the game.
  5. You'll have to buy it, otherwise you'll lose to the people running the Pay to win op relics locked behind expansion.
  6. I would probably pay to remove this expansion and go back to EoD.
  7. Idk, I'm not familiar with your country/state consumer laws, but you probably could get a refund if you really tried.
  8. I don't actually even understand the bolded part. It seems to contradict itself. Can I buy just SoTO, and then use longbow on my core guard, or do I need to also own HOT and unlock dragonhunter?
  9. Not trying to be provocative, but it's pretty obvious that this "Secrets of the Obscure" is vastly different from the first two expansions we got, and even more limited than the End of Dragons. A lot of the content that people are looking forward too, such as new weapons and legendary relics, will not available during release, but rather drip fed over the next (couple?) months. What you are essentially buying is a "hope" that the content they promoted will be ready in the next couple of months/quarters. This is not a type of product that I would expect from a reputable gaming studio. This brings me to the next issue. For those that actually bought the expansion with the expectation, how can they be sure that the content Anet has promised in the future is actually released on time? Anet delays their scheduled releases all the time, so there is no guarantee that this time will be any different, or the possibility that they just 'release' some broken feature just to say they met their own deadline. Anyway, preordering an expansion just incentivizes companies to give you lower quality/unfinished products. However, this is truly unprecedented. I don't think I've ever come across an expansion where critically and highly promoted features aren't even available at release, and may or may not even be available in the next 6 months.
  10. While I agree with your assessment that this is not a legitimate expansion, certainly not a product that any reputable gaming company should ever sell, I think it was pretty well broadcasted on this forum, and through their posts much of this stuff wasn't even available at launch. You should never preorder games. Ever. Buy it the first day it comes out if you want it badly, but whenever silly people just blindly preorder things without seeing the product, this stuff will happen. I've said from beginning not to preorder this "expansion", and I hate calling it that, because this is not an complete product. People gave me all these funny emotes.
  11. I think this seems reasonable. I would amend (1) to be 6 months. 1 consecutive year is a very long time for a video game.
  12. The point is to discourage people from transferring at all. Pick a server, make a commitment. Outside of some complex exemption system, other random individuals will always be affected. Not much can be done about that.
  13. 1 week is to little, and if we're being honest is just more annoying than actually doing anything. They should make it 6 weeks, and extend the debuff to prevent any further development of reward tracks, reduce all magic find to zero.
  14. No. I play this game every day, in at least 3 timezones. I know what I'm talking about here. ANET is not claiming any Maguuma objectives of note. Could there be some rare instances where Anet claims a random camp on redbl that gets flipped in the next 5 minutes? Sure I guess maybe that happens, but anything like a keep, SMC, or upgraded tower absolutely not.
