Bolshie.6137's Achievements

  1. Dawdler.8521, your two WvW peers above were welcoming and supportive. So I felt good about it, tried it out, and liked it. There's a lesson in there somewhere for you.
  2. Thank you both! Played for a while tonight, and got halfway to the Gift, jumping between zergs and flying solo. Think I'm a WvW believer now. Might work on Warclaw next.
  3. Returning PvE player. All I need left for my first Legendary is the Gift of Battle. Logged on to start doing some dailies, and... Am I correct in my understanding that WvW Reward Potions are completely discontinued now? Or do they drop from the Wizard's Vault if you select WvW dailies? Suggestions on how a PvE player can grind out a Gift of Battle? I play Soulbeast, Dragonhunter, and Reaper because I enjoy them, and don't really want to focus on other builds (respect to those who do, it's just not what I'm here for). Is the only real path left for those who aren't OP to progress in WvW in a reasonable timeline to find a commander and zerg?
  4. This. There are too many shards! I get why they may have played with the population per shard -- so people can actually see NPCs (and not a pile of shiny players). But I think the balance is off. I played on and off all day yesterday, and both Seitung Provence and New Kaineng City felt completely vacant. Only a few others playing in the same shard. Totally fine, if you have a working theory for why that is. But it could demoralize new players. The balance should be tweaked with the next update.
  5. Still day dreaming of this, every day I log in. If it's too much work to figure out, no problem! Just remove them from 80 level maps all together! The myriad forms of "junk" we encounter are mostly tolerable, as we can sell them all at a vendor in one fell swoop. Medallions? They're just tedious time sucks. The worst sort of drop. They're only of use to characters in the 65 to 80 level range. Limit them to Central Tyria! Don't replace them with another drop! Give us less loot, or a silver, or whatever it takes! Just make them go away. Please and thanks.
  6. As of noon PST on 11/11: GW2 won't load for me, even if I delete bin64. It loads to a certain point in the background, and just freezes. Ctrl + Alt + Del works appropriately, but the freeze affects the Task Manager as well - I can't engage the Task Manager at all after I've loaded it.
  7. I gobbled up every other part of the "Return to..." scenario without a thought on my second main character . Most of it was fun, but this is without question the single worst instance in GW2. Without genuine rewards, I just can't care enough to finish it. I'm not a masochist.
  8. Please, please, please make Green Medallions Salvageable, so we can nuke them out of our storage.
  9. More fun, creative Achievements! Look to what worked on past maps for inspiration. Endless grinding for the sake of grinding isn't fun. With grinding, Bjora was a turn in the wrong direction. Despite feedback on that map, Drizzlewood's achievements are so much worse: Not only does the map continue with the strong focus on grinding for the sake of grinding, the sheer cost (in both time and gold) to unlock achievements feels like a slap in the face. I can't count how many people I ran into working on the old Henge backpack (a grind people notoriously avoided, not too long ago, before grinding was ramped up), instead of spending time on the new map. Make the Achievement structure feel like it's actually worth the investment.
  10. "They" however, is not defined at all."They" means it could be any gender. "They" could be male, female, something in between, neither or even both. Before this episode, Jormag was usually called "it".That "it" hasn't been continued, makes the pandering obvious. Nope. It is as gender neutral as they, grammatically, it's just considered rude. Don't worry, though. At some point, you'll be sufficiently comfortable with your own identity - whatever it is - that you won't be triggered by an imaginary dragon.
  11. How wonderful would it be if we all had the ability to stack and split stacks of salvage kits, boosters, food stuffs, etcetera? Answer: Just the right kind of wonderful. Also, while I'm really enjoying the new map, players are clearly irritated by the amount of clutter we're gathering between maps these days. This could be easily mitigated by: making a new extra-extra large bag a reasonably attainable achievement on this or the next map (many people like to earn gear); giving every toon an extra-extra large bag (everyone love a gift); just giving every toon an extra bag slot (honestly, how hard would that be?); or, at the very least, giving each account a free bank tab (I've bought three so far, in addition to four additional toons; I plan on throwing more money GW2's way, no question... But if GW2 maps are going to continue to throw this much clutter our way, I think it would be great if we're given the means to store it all, too).
  12. Many players enjoy pursuing unique achievements and revisiting the broader Tyrian world as endgame. I think it would be great if Core and LW maps were semi-regularly updated with new collections, and for there to be a wider variety of specific daily activities on Core, LW3 and LW4 maps. Grinding through the same event 20 to 100 times on the most recent maps simply isn't fun for a lot of us who like PvE.
  13. To me, they feel like bounties without the fun of racing across the map to get to your targets. I still really enjoy joining a Bounty Train or throwing up an LFG to take out a couple. As for strikes? I don't really enjoy lurking in a lobby. You show up, wait, wait some more, fight the big bad boss when enough people arrive, disappear for a week. Bounties just felt more spontaneous and immersive.
  14. Three skritt fighting together, in tandem. I'd fork over gems for that. Dredge. To convey their blindness, have the default view for dredge players be an inverted color scheme. Something truly Lovecraftian. No other MMO or RPG of this size has gone that route, as far as I know.
