Hey folks. Just as a quick update the team captains have voted overwhelmingly to ban the Vindicator elite specialization from play. Rounds will start tomorrow. If you or your team still wants to participate, connect with me ASAP.

What is it? Basically 5v5 team deathmatch, similar to Courtyard in sPvP, but using WvW balancing Why 5v5? Small group roaming is one of the lesser known facets of WvW. Compared to pure roaming, you have room for dedicated supports in the team comp. It's also easier to get a group together for 5s instead of 15v15. Small group roaming guilds also have a reputation for "farming pugs" or chasing easy fights so this will be a good chance to see how nerves hold up when guilds fight similarly numbered and organized opponents. When is it? Saturday, November 5th at 3pm EDT (19:00 UTC). The exact start time may be moved up an hour or two depending on team availability. Where is it? North American region Edge of the Mists arena What is the format? Round robin style with single elimination championship rounds at the end What are the prizes? Teams can vote on two class specializations. The specialization with the most votes will be banned from play. Players can only play with one team. All team members must be present in Suay Discord voice channels for their matches. At least one team member must stream their PoV on Discord/Twitch for the casters. All players on a team must use the same colored flag. Only 5 players from each team can be in the arena at the same time and only those five can place markers or call targets. Teams start rounds outside the arena's etched circle on opposite sides. Nourishments, enhancements, hero banners, and reinforced armor buffs are allowed. Stacking sigils need to be cleared between rounds. No pre-buffing allowed except for swiftness, venoms, and life force. No stealth allowed prior to 5s before round start. Rounds end when one team calls GG, is dead, or after five minutes. The team with the most kills after five minutes wins the round. If the round ends with the same number of deaths it is a tie. Round robin matches are best out of three rounds. Championship matches are best out of five rounds. Matches ending in wins/losses net teams 2/0 points. Ties net both teams 1 point. Captains will message each other for round timers. Once the first team has notified the admins they are ready, the second team has two minutes to prepare before the round starts automatically. Skirting the rules will result in spanks. In the event of any issues admins get final say. Rules may need to be updated as needed.

World vs world isn’t just about zerging. There are so many different facets of the game mode, builds to theorycraft, and frankly, ways to play the game that should be celebrated and explored, not admonished and marginalized. I’m happy that you found a play style and community that you find enjoyable to be a part of, but I’m not trying to take that away from you by setting up a 5v5 event. There’s enough space in the WvW community for both styles of play to coexist. Please my friend, before you judge me, my character and what sort of commander/organizer I am- I’ve read the discord chats, maybe we can simply talk. I’m on the same team.

What is wrong with you?

Interest for this event has been struggling and we've gone from six interested teams down to two for a variety of reasons. Giving it the weekend to drum up interest and get more signups. I will also be doubling the prize pool again to 500g, 400g, 300g, and 200g to the top four teams. Once again this will be 5v5 in EotM on October 29th. If the EU scene doesn't materialize the funds will just be combined with the NA 5v5 tournament on November 5th. Thanks for reading!
