kinda appears the devs are forcing metas more and more. it's hard not to be worried by that approach as this is the same group that designed eod specs which see very little usage in wvw (and imo are generally quite poorly designed). ultimately tho, and as someone alluded to earlier, they have been attacking the skill ceiling for several years now. the aim seems to be, more and more, to make the game easier for bad players and worse for everyone else. it's unfortunate and will (imo) ultimately irreparably damage the gamemode as without veteran skilled players the organised content for everyone will suffer.

Amen. It is far to easy to defend with a fraction of the people. Having defensible keeps is fine but SM has such a big influence on the state of EB, it doesn't seem right at all for it to be so difficult to flip, its unfun. I often thought removing the ability to place defensive siege (ie siege cap it for defenders) and giving the lord a massive health or toughness increase might be an interesting way to go with SM. This would encourage actual fights in the objective which, outside of clown shoe wearing 'defenders', most people actually want

A few years ago they stated that WvW wouldn't be getting any content in the expacs anymore as WvW content will just be released 'when it's ready'. There's much to say here but, in essence, alliances/restructuring was the carrot at the time but that can hardly be considered anything other than an absolute joke at this stage ('2024 btw, kind of'). So what does that statement mean now? For me at least, in the context of the last ~4 years of WvW it's very hard not to read it as 'WvW won't be getting any content'. I don't think they have run out of ideas I think new stuff is just not on the table at all. Ultimately, I think the reality of WvW is that it's in maintenance.

It will be interesting to see how WvW ends up when they pull servers out from under the casual WvW population. I really don't see how it won't cause a sizeable drop in population. We'll see but I just hope that the alliances release date doesn't clash with Star Citizen's.

up power damage by 20-30% and it'll solve a lot of issues with small scale. - you can't kite/outrun/out heal a 20k burst - you can actually threaten a zerg as a solo with said burst dps - cele or these clown 'bruiser' builds wouldn't be an issue as you could just pop them - condi tanks would be much less of an issue when you can just burst them down it'd be twitch-y mobility based gameplay with a reliance on positioning and fight awareness but is that any worse than the state of small scale atm

hi friend, lb berserker is just a tiny bit outside of meta in wvw as the f1 hits 5 people per field (up to 25 total) + it pulses, its very, very strong in certain situations 🙂 it could be meta if it brought more than just raw dps to the table. the more you know!

i do understand your general point but i would feel its clear that stuff that's over/under-tuned in pvp, in that same context, is problematic in wvw. its not as frequent or immediate but still pretty problematic. beyond that, wvw is stale af and it's a real pain-point for many wvw people so why not just give the pvp nerfs (or buffs) in wvw a try when they happen, wvw is pvp after all.
