  1. game has been unplayable whenever there are 60+ people near each other which is basically every fight.
  2. sending anet your computer specs wont do anything. the common factor here is the april windows update. clearly has nothing to do with individual computer specs. turning off focus assist for me didnt solve the issue, it made the "load screen alt tabbing" faster but still annoying nonetheless.
  3. combat related- positioning is one of the biggest thingsknowing when to engage/ where to engagebeing able to bait bombs (positioning/ engages) knowing how to counter certain playstylespredict enemy movementknow when to be aggressive and when to be pull back to regroupbeing able to monitor your squad. cooldowns & health. can you push? or do you need to wait? just because you are full health and have your cooldowns doesnt mean everyone is readybeing on comms (obv better than a commander not on comms)overall awareness of surroundings and the map, dont tunnel visioni know that list sounds kinda repetitive and everything sounds the same because for the most part everything is comes back to positioning and awareness
  4. wow BG always told me it was superior players that made them so good. this is eye opening. TWICE AS BIG WTF
  5. I'm excited for this change. We needed a change and this for once is a good one. Communities can still stay together (just form an alliance...) there will be more balance in terms of population and freshen up matchups. i hope anet sticks with this one and doesnt give in, there will be no more Mag or BG for people to whine about or closed servers that people cant get their guild members in. PLEASE ANET GO THROUGH WITH THIS
  6. So I basically deleted this entire folder and it seems to have fixed my fps drops (fingers crossed). this folder contains local.dat but for me it was fucked up with a bunch of corrupted data files as well
  7. FPS drops resumed last night... but dont worry let's continue to ignore large issues and make more mount skins! seems like the only thing they care about now
  8. UPDATE: ran repair twice yesterday and deleted my gw2 cache. i did not experience any FPS drops last night. I did not turn off GPU OC. hopefully i have fixed my issue. knock on wood For those dropping frames try deleting your gw2 cache. Ofc its only been one night, will update if problems persist. While I was going through the folders to delete the cache i noticed this https://imgur.com/ebbWkz9this cant be normal
  9. GW2 is also known to dislike over clocking. I had to down clock the video card on my old machine in order to stabilize the game. The machine works fine for everything else. It was in a sticky post related to crashing on the old board. Not sure if that posting came across to the new board. That said, I think these current frame rate issues are more related to the server than the client-side hardware setup since when it happens it tends to affect an entire instance, or at least groups in the vicinity of each other. I will try turning off OC completely tonight but so many people having same issue and probably havent OC'd their GPU, so im doubtful thats the issue. people are telling me to clear gw2 cache so i will try that as well
  10. reposting from another thread:ive been getting massive frame drops to where the game is unplayable (5 fps) even in non intensive gameplay like running around wvw (not in a fight), and i have to restart the game. this happens almost nightly and it's getting really annoying. Ive tried turning off shadowplay (havent had it on for the last 2 months), turning graphics to best performance (low everything), i dont have arc dps. sometimes the game will recover after a few minutes other times it becomes completely unplayable. i7 7700k OC'd @ 5.1ghz1080ti32gb RAMgame is on SSD i dont want to hear "get a better PC" i dont have these issues in other games. the only other game is GTA 5 but that game has a known issue of not liking GPU overclocks (works fine with no OC)anet fix your game
  11. ive been getting massive random fps drops. my fps drops to 5-8 fps and the game is unplayable. my computer is plenty strong enough to run gw2. this issue is getting very annoying. i7 7700k1080ti32gb ram
  12. Thank you. I intend to because the majority of feedback had been so detailed, constructive and thoughtful. So many ideas came out of this that I plan on making a reality over the next year and I'm proud to say it all came from the GW2 community. :-) What communication?? WvW players say hi. Anet has great communication for certain gamemodes for others it's terrible. in this case non-existent. Not one WvW question was responded to during that AMA. I understand it was Living Story AMA (whens the WvW AMA??) but we couldn't even get a statement from Anet about WvW, even if it was a generic bullshit one. It amazes me how they continue to ignore their playerbase and let a gamemode with so much potential go down the drain. 3 major NA WvW guilds have left the game within the last 2 months, more are likely to follow. Keep up the great communication!
  13. I think the real issue is keeping what playerbase you have left. You can market all you want but if you continue to neglect gamemodes and stop communicating with your playerbase those players arent going to be around very long. I know this post probably wont be read cause it has to do with WvW, WvW imo is something that had/ has a lot of potential that Anet has decided to ignore. Many players including myself were drawn to GW2 because of WvW. Many of those players are now starting to leave/ have the game. GW2 has some of, if not the best combat system out of any MMO. It is why WvW has so much potential as a gamemode and something anet should really use to market their game. However any marketing will do no good if you cant keep your playerbase.
  14. do you have shadowplay on btw? im pretty sure it's nvidia shadowplay. I had to turn mine off . my frames would drop to like 9 fps randomly but once i turned it off and restarted my game i had no issues. i have similar specs with a OC'd 7700k & a 1080ti-- definitely shouldn't be dropping frames but yeah try turning off shadowplay.
