If I'm not mistaken, in order to make money off the crafting professions in ff14 you basically had to max out all of them ant then sell whatever people were buying at the moment, so I'd say they would find the GW2 "farm mats, sell mats, unless what you're making is ascended or higher you're usually losing money on crafting and selling" style refreshing either way.

The administration has given us plenty of kittens, just look in the new expansion, they even have cats in the restaurant of the new LW episode. As for our applications in game, if a couple of dozen people who otherwise obviously wouldn't play the game stand around on zero input farming builds, I'm annoyed. But if by banning them we also lose taco and fishing buddy, I say it's less damaging to just let them stand there. Anet should just add some kind of nuisance item that we could use to troll them, such as a novelty rock that you can toss at an immobile player that moves them a tiny increment without doing damage. If you use it on a random dude it does nothing special, if you use it on an AFK farmer you can move them across the map. They could charge 2000 gems for it and people would pay it gladly.

From what I understand they introduced the research notes to cause people to use up crafting mats instead of selling them, but the only positive aspect I can see so far was for the people who bought up a ton of materials the instant the changes became known, and again for those who emptied TP of holiday foods the instant it became clear that Anet had removed them from the drop table. I don't know how Anet is going to spin that as a good thing for everyone, so they will probably just do what has worked in the past and not say anything. Yeah, these changes suck. At least we still have cupcakes.

Plain Omnomberry bars are still mostly desirable for the MF though, and the cupcakes are significantly cheaper regardless of if you craft or buy the bars.

But in this case we have a few people who like to add unnecessary emojis to some posts they find silly or disagree with. So it's like your example but the kids are drawing silly faces to each other instead, you have to invest a certain degree of extra effort to even care.

One of those can be skipped by just heading to Bitterfrost and getting frozen by one of the random swirlies, and the doppelganger can be fought by just letting that forgotten event boss inside Augury Rock clone you and then killing that copy. And large parts of the daily grind CAN be skipped by paying for food or making it yourself. This feels like such a troll post.
