  1. well it is bad optimization / some artifical limitations (shadows are computed on gpu, yet gpu cores/memory utilization doesnt go up, just ~20ish frames land in garbage bin, without even trying to push the hardware). i thought dx11 migration was to avoid situations like that i wonder if its any better on top of the line gpus (4080/90/7900)
  2. So.. do we know why changing shadows to anything above off/low butchers 10-20fps for no reason (cpu/gpu usage barely changes, but fps drops and stutters)? Here is small comparison sample (low vs ultra, but on medium/high its just as bad as on ultra) https://imgur.com/a/02B46ya The hardware is not an issue (5800x3d, rtx 4070, 64gb of ram). As can be seen, % in cpu/gpu usage is +- the same, gpu is kinda sleeping (it can go up to 200w and does so no problem in other games doing 90-99% utilization) and is heavily underutilized. The problem does not occur in skywatch (or old maps, maybe to lower degree in kaineng), or at least not to the point of noticing it - its the tower and amnytas. Not only lower avg fps, but also rotating camera is stuttery mess.
  3. all kittenposting aside i get that balancing elite spec weapons and relics can take a while, but some stuff SHOULD be hotfixed... like 49k scourge and all fractal cms being broken for almost a month now is a bit concerning...
  4. we could use https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Canthan_Noble_Skyscale_Mounts_Pack rerun its been almost a year..
  5. So since yesterday when i try to enter wvw on my guard (from pve, on another build) game crashes with c0000005 exception. If i change build before entering wvw, it loads fine. No issue on other characters as well. Ive googled a bit and found out it may be due to some skins, but im using neither of listed ones and dont want to ruin my looks... so any hint, or i just have to remember to switch build before entering wvw forever now?
  6. if you're using chrome/brave/edge any other chromium based browser and switch to that when playing gw2, go to chrome://flags and switch angle from default to opengl/d3d9 or disabled; was having similar issue when browsing web with gw2 in background - now using opengl backend on chrome, no conflicts with gw2
  7. did both, no change 😕 another fact i fogot to mention - it happens only when window is over gw2. if go to the browser on other screen, there's no issue. and on further investigation - its mostly with chrome; harder to reproduce with firefox or brave EDIT comapred chrome:// flags in brave and chrome changed 'Choose ANGLE graphics backend' from default to opengl in chrome; for now seems good and helped overall with start/load times for gw2. weird, as there was no conflict with that on 1070. maybeit has sth to do with recent change to chromium in gw2 itself so if anyone suffers similar issue, try messing around with chrome://flags and hardware acceleration aand googling a bit: seems to be the thing. weird it doesnt affect other games. does recently reintroduced built-in chromium in gw2 inherits the settings from chrome by some weird bug? can we get dedicated switch in gw2 settings or config file somewhere for it? there's clearly conflict with hardware accelerated chromium-based browsers that are configured with setting other than off/opengl/d3d9 and gw2 - d3d11/d3d11 on 12 is broken (at least on some hardware configs - mine is 5800x3d and rtx4070 + latest patched win11)
  8. yes, i did run ddu. the issue is only with gw2, no other games EDIT i actually managed to crash it: https://youtu.be/K67VhI_bvfs - comparison with bl3 (but the same no-problem in other games) disabling arc or afterburner doesnt help either
  9. I recently changed gpu to 4070, reinastalled gpu drivers + enabled resizable bar and... gw2 started freezing when switching focus to another window / alt-tabbing. after going back, it unfreezes, but can take up to 5 seconds to resume, also cant track tp/lfg with browser on top of the game, as well.. it freezes. no other issues - except that, runs fine, no crashes or performance issues. also, the problem doesnt occur in other games - can have them in the background just fine. Any hint where to look?
  10. ok, firebrand is strong but... it would be more sane to do small adjsutments gradually, rather than slaying it with machete... the burn tick nerfs in pve are kinda throwing it from good-but-not-broken into meh, to bad territory. dps firebrand aint that popular, cause you can pewpew with mech or virtuoso from range on power builds, with little to no ramp-up needed, and qfb already lags behind qherald and in some situations qscrappers (boring anti-fun spam-all-skill to get boon builds; firebrand is actually fun to play... i guess we cant have fun.)
  11. im not talking about team sitting 24/7 in studio; im talking about setting proper monitoring and someone getting slack or w/e notificatiosn if something breaks to fix it from home. or at least hop on forum and say its bigger issue and will take a moment. im part of devops team in software house, and if we're responsible for some 24/7 hour service, i cant imagine telling our clients 'kitten off, its weekend, im back to sleep'. you wake up midnight saturday and fix stuff. or you're not cut for ops job. ops job is to make sure stuff works. you can slack around most days, but if things break, you fix it no matter the time.
  12. if you host 24/7 service, you should have some 1st line support. also its 2021, dont tell me someone from ops team cant fix it remotely in 5 minutes
