  1. Guild Wars 3 can be awesome if thieves/assassins get offhand swords.
  2. I currently play with a Quadro 600 and the game only runs well in potato mode. I'm tired of seeing such ugliness in game when I see so many videos on YouTube really showcasing the beauty of GW2. I need some graphics card recommendations. I don't mind spending 100-200 bucks if that will make the game run more smoothly and be prettier.
  3. Wars and engies are the most fun for me with this round of specs. I think once ANet has tweaked the numbers more and polished the engie golem, we're going to see a ton of new engie players myself included. Everything else is pretty meh. In theory elixirs with necs sounds cool, but in practice it's pretty terrible and boring as hell from a gameplay point. My 2nd main is a thief and I feel like we got shafted with the scepter. It's pretty lame if you're running solo content and I didn't roll a thief to be a buff bot. What I don't understand about this community is the constant need for "roles" guardians, eles, necros, and engies can all heal and buff super well. Why the hell does thief need to fit a role that 4 other classes can do? I made my thief because I hoped he would become the GW2 version of a combat rogue from WoW. Give me dual swords and stances. GW2 has such fluid combat it's truly disappointing that ANet keeps missing the mark with maximizing their combat potential. Mesmer is boring, but pretty. Guardians look cool, but they're softer than eles. Enough said about ele, it's a joke and really needs a revamp with traits and spells. Rev was pretty meh I barely played it because it bored me. Same with ranger.
  4. This is easily my favorite spec so far. I love that the mech really makes you feel like an engie. I'm definitely rolling an engie when EoD drops especially once they polish the mech mechanics more.
  5. After the showing today, I'm picking up my ranger more and definitely rolling an engie. I think once they tweak engie more and adjust the toolbelt or lack thereof coupled with the craziness of the golem it will be super fun.
  6. The mech is super awesome and the gameplay looks fun. It's not viable in pvp lol. People will either burst the mech down and make you useless or they'll cc the sheet out of you which once again makes you useless. Mace doesn't really add anything new and the cool down is atrocious. The golem is essentially a pet and you want it out as much as possible so having 100s to wait for it return after death or dismissal is idiotic. Drop the cool down to 20 or 30 seconds. Bonus points if they revamp the toolkit and let engies get a mech toolkit if the mech is dismissed. Yeah it's more work creating another 5 skills, oh noes well that's what happens when you don't give it many tools from the start.
  7. Yep, I was thinking the same thing. I hate how they keep making trickery be mandatory for every build. It's so annoying and frustrating. If you use sp/d combo like Cal was showing off to try to pump out the heals he was showing you're going to run out ini pretty quickly. I face palmed when he confirmed the reduce ini pool.
  8. ANet made a winner with this one. I don't even have an engie and I'm impressed with the detail and thematic of this spec. Even if the pet AI is clunky at first that can be ironed out. I love the overall presentation and it's making me consider rolling an engie. Thus far war and engie look like the best specs. I don't know who worked on this, but hot kitten I wish that guy was assigned to ele, thief, and mes because all those specs suck in my opinion.
  9. Most of us felt that way when we found out scepter was our new weapon. I saw so many awesome assassin suggests with offhand sword from players and I can't post enough how disappointed we're not getting it. Shadow mage looks really meh given that necro already covers that theme. I don't care about support, I want to play the spec to have fun not be a buff bot. Hopefully there are fun new mechanics and utilities with specter that really give it a nice feel.
  10. It's astounding to me that ANet has missed the mark all these years because GW2 still continues to have kitten near the best combat out of any MMO. I used to love pvping here and would no-life pvp back in my college days because the strategy and depth was good waaayyyy back then. Like when confusion actually rearranged your keybindings and you could form a team with your guildmates. I'm going way back to 2013 and 2014. What's equally mindboggling is that GW1 has amazing pvp and they literally just needed to mimic some ideas from it and implement them into GW2. Circle quest 5 is so old and stale. Occasionally getting 1 new map with sheety mechanics no one pays attention to(Djinn)really isn't adding much to the mode. I have abandoned pvp myself because WvW is no better. I just hope that EoD brings faction battles or something exciting back to pvp. No other MMO has been able to scratch my pvp itch and it disappoints me immensely.
  11. This guy gets it. ANet's overall PVE design is not designed for thieves and the motif ANet has established for them. It's silly for thief players to want to be "supportive" with boon sharing and such because that's literally not what the class was designed to do. No thief mains rolled a thief thinking hurr durr I sure hope I can heal and spam might for my allies. Most however did see that you can teleport, stealth, dual wield daggers, and dual wield pistols so you can fulfill the assassin/swashbuckler trope if you like. That's why I'm disappointed in scepter being our new weapon and hopefully it just craps out unique DPS damage so we have another fun DPS spec to play not be a kitten back up supporter.
  12. I'm legit confused as to why players want thieves to support, that makes no sense. Thieves in GW2 are your rogue/assassin archetype(minus offhand sword)players roll thieves to teleport around and slash things. Eles, guards, and necs can pump out support like a good IT department. Thieves are meant to be a fun DPS class. I don't play my ninja in FF14 hoping one day he'll learn healing spells and be able to buff my team. I just like watching cool kitten jutsus fly out and roleplay as such. I hope ANet doesn't try to make a shadowbender support thief, that sounds absolutely terrible especially since we're getting the scepter when people wanted greatswords or off swords for so long.
  13. Stupid name choice, but this spec actually looks fun to play. I might have to roll a warrior now because I know thief is going to disappoint me.
  14. Thieves should've launched with off sword so if they retroactively applied off sword I'd be set. I'm not a big fan of scepter, but core s/s would be nice and add more flavor back to core thief. S/S dare builds would be fun to play too, especially with the ninja dash.
  15. Dare to dream son. I still run dungeons regularly because I like most of the weapons and armors from them. Arah weapons are still by far some of the best weapons to me to this day. I wish fractals had associated armors or weapons with the given fractal that would be pretty dope. Fractal weapons are cool and all the nightmare ones too even though barely anyone has them. I would like to see ghost pirate weapons from Siren's Song or cool dwarven weapons from Deepstone.
