  1. Hi all! The GW2 Rich presence addon has a new feature: The Automatic Raid Announcer. This means that it will send a message to your specified discord channel as soon as you press the 'Create squad' button in game. (~15s delay) to announce that you tagged up. In this message it will display your current map, character, a chatcode to join your squad and a chatcode to your closest point of interest. This is how it looks like. You will not have to interact with Discord or the GW2RPC addon in any way to send the announcement, except setting it up once and having it running the background. How to set up raid announcer Install GW2RPC. See the previous post for instructions or hop on our discord server for help. Create a discord webhook URL for the channel you want it to send to. Add the URL to the `config.ini` file. If you used GW2RPC before you need to replace your config file with the new one. It should look like this: You can specify several webhooks by separating them with a comma. How to disable a set up Raid announcer If you don't want to announce your raid you can easily toggle it off. Simply right click on the tray icon and click on "Announce raid" to toggle it off and on. This menu option is only available if a webhook is set up. Feedback, suggestions and bugs If you have any suggestions or find any bugs, hop on our discord server
  2. TL;DR It displays your current ingame location, character and profession for others to see in Discord. This is how it looks like: https://imgur.com/a/Kgl6rYi Download it here: https://gw2rpc.info/ What it does It uses the Discord Rich presence feature to display additional information in your Discord status. Others don't have to run the addon to see your location in game, including: Character name and class Current map and nearest point of interest Time spent on current map Mount and combat status Active commander tag Bosses you're currently fighting in fractals and raids It also supports: API keys for displaying guilds Multiboxing Languages: en, es ,fr, de New features in 2.3 Multiboxing support Return to "in character selection" if you log out from a character and remain in character selection. Display an emoji (⚔️) behind your character name if you are currently in combat in game. Display currently used mount Display a button in Discord, which leads you to a website for easily copy-pasting the chat link of the closest point of interest next to you for others, as well as a whisper string. Can be deactivated in config file. Display fractal (CM) boss images Only one instance of `gw2rpc.exe` will be active at a time now. If you start it again and another instance is already running, it will terminate. (Useful when setting up multiboxing via GW2Launcher). Bugfixes Fixed a crash with malformed json data Fixed a crash when quickly switching between multiboxed instances (Thanks to Breaking) Fixed a crash when connection to GW2 API or GW2RPC API could not be established due to client side limitations (proxy or firewall) (Thanks to TEnn and SoloMona18) Fixed a crash when GW2 crashes (Thanks to Rengo) Fix timestamps / duration of fractal boss encounters (Thanks to Trinterin) Fixed images for strike bosses (API) Added images for Dragonfall, Dragonstorm, Cold War (API) Updated translations How to install Place the extracted files in <GW2-dir>/addons/gw2rpc/ (create the folder if it does not exist) and simply run gw2rpc.exe. To make starting Rich Presence easier, there is an .exe called launch_gw2_with_rpc.exe included in the download. This script launches both GW2 and the RPC addon. For it to work, it needs to be present in <GW2-dir>/addons/gw2rpc/. You may then replace your normal GW2 shortcut with it for ease of launching. Known issues Note that Discord Rich Presence can be updated only every 15s, so keep in mind that your mount and combat status, as well as the active multibox instance will not be displayed immediately. Somehow you can not click your own Discord RPC buttons, but this is a Discord issue. Copying the whisper chat code places the character name in the message field. Simply copy-paste it into the name field in game then. Note that with introducing multiboxing support, a lot of stuff in the background got reworked. Allthough the beta version was tested by several people, there might be still some unknown problems. GW2RPC always displays "in character selection": Please check the created logfile in <GW2-dir>/addons/gw2rpc/. Especially with Windows 11 it might happen that the connection to the GW2API and/or GW2RPC API is getting blocked. The new .exe might be reported as a false positive by your anti-virus scanner or blocked by Windows Smartscreen, as it is not signed. Have a look at the Virustotal report. If you don't trust that you can always have a look at the source or build it by yourself. Contributing I want to extend the fractal boss mode to every fractal and not only CMs. For this I need the coordinates of the fighting area for each boss. If you want to help out gathering coordinates during your daily fractal routine, hop onto our Discord Server for instructions on how to do it. Future plans A feature where it will automatically announce your raid lead to a discord channel via a webhook if you tag up in game, but I have to think this through. I proposed this to some WvW Raid commanders and the main issue is how to distinguish between public and private leads (which should be not announced anywhere). If people are interested in such a feature, I will dive into it.
