  1. I was doing the zone 3 test zone today with 4 more other people. We had issues to get everyone to the final checkpoint.. 2 people used /gg to get to the next checkpoint but it got them to the first checkpoint, and then in the next /gg, it took them to different checkpoints and not the last checkpoint that was close to the final boss. It only got fixed when people left the instance, multiple times and kept /gging until they got sent to the final checkpoint. As far as I've noticed, if people got to the first checkpoint before everyone loaded inside it bugs. After a lot of issues, we got to the final boss, everyone hit it but two people died as the boss died. The two that died didn't receive the credit for zone and therefore no credit for the annual achievement for World 3 Testing. I did the run again after that, everyone loaded in before any player started going through the level and the bug happened again. I got to the first checkpoint and we tested the /gg. They were all sent to the begining, but after people left the instance and joined back again, they were sent to the checkpoint that I was at. This time we got to the boss, we all hit it, no one died and we all got the credit for the zone.
  2. Rata sum is by far the easiest city to navigate lol.. (compared to the other cities that is). The central WP takes you to where all the npcs you need. Around that wp level you have bank, guild bank, merchant, TP. On each corridor you will find 3 of each job's crafting stations. Rata sum is so great that I even made the Rata Sum Portal Scroll! I love it. But yea, it can be hard to navigate on other cities, trying to find specific npcs.. they're usually spread out. It gives a better sense of a "city" but it objectively inconvenient... they sell on the gemstore a bunch of passkeys to give you that convenience though.
  3. I hope they leave an option for you to choose if people can inspect you or not. I spent a lot of time thinking of looks, testing dyes so someone can just come and copy me. It's cool if people want to share it but some people may not want it. Yes people can take a printscreen and try to look for it, but still they may not get the exact colors of everything. This new feature annoyed me for sure. Things that actually matter, such as gear, runes, sigils and build should be the target of this kind of feature. People have bad experiences in PvE because they can't inspect others.. if they were able to be inspected, there could be room for someone to help them improve. Such a waste of development time to give a skin inspection.
  4. GW2 is already receiving less and less attention over the years, since Icebrood Saga... the quality of almost every type of content went down the hill after IBS release. They won't give people anything just like they didn't do it when GW2 was announced. I was one of the fools going after the max achievements for the Hall of Monuments back when GW2 was announced. Back in the day, they said something like "your accomplishments will not be lost" and "you will carry on with your legacy".. which led many people to believe that they would have some of their hard worked goodies. What did we get from all that I put on my Hall of Monuments? Nothing that we actually worked for. We got a title (that honestly is worthless IMO), some skins and minis that were so ugly that you rarely saw people using it even when GW2 had just launched. Just as an example, the Tormented Weapons set was super hard to make all by yourself on GW1.. it required to do some really long (around 4 hours each run) and difficult instanced end game content that if people were dead and no one had a rechargeable rez skill, it would be over. People were excited to think that they could have them back on GW2 because they added these skins in their Hall of Monuments. But reality hit hard when I found out that not only I didn't get my hard worked Tormented skins back, but they were re-released through the Black Lion Chest. So I had to pay to get them again.. even though I had them on my Hall of Monuments. The same happened to prestige armor skins, they should have been what we got through the HoM rewards.. untradeable skins that you can enjoy for having played their game for years. I really doubt they'd not deceive the players again if GW3 ever releases.
  5. They give us something with one hand and take something else with the other hand.. no more autoclickers but way less buff time and chance of getting it..wtf
  6. I was annoyed by SoTO's format before the release, I'm stiill annoyed by it now, and I'll probably still be annoyed at the end of it. I am definitely not buying the next one when it releases, simply because it was announced that it will be just like this one: pay full price and have it delivered over a year. If only the 4 updates were juicy but they were not. The first one was ok with the amount of content but the last two were kitty. And by kitty I mean, story wise, maps wise, content wise, mastery wise. I hope that with SoTO they can see that they can't fit a good story and juicy content in 4 deliveries over 12 months, not to mention that character development went to kitten really. I read comments about the story here and on reddit and the general response is that it's hard to connect to the characters the way it's been delivered until now. By cutting off LWS they said they are giving their teams a better QoL when in fact, making them have to produce stuff to fit the 12 months in every expansion seems way worse than before. The crunch is so loud that I can hear it from here.
  7. They are in different locations on the map that they came from XD I guess it's to mimic it or something.. but the truth is that it's just a little hassle for people going in their home instances. I wish I could choose the location of every instance node, afterall, it is my home isn't it?
  8. At this point, the OP should know that Anet is focusing newer players or those that can't or don't want to do raids / WvW / PvP legendary armor. Veteran players kinda had a very low incentive to play SoTO's contents, since most of it is about gathering kryptis essences to get your legendary armor. This is the expansion I played the least in 11 years of GW2, mainly because I already have the final goal from it.. so when I saw the Wizard's Vault Special task asking the player to craft 1 piece of the new legendary armor.. I was like.. aw man, I want the Astral Acclaim that it gives but I don't want to spend on something that will serve no purpose for me. I guess it's a trade off, the points for 1 leggy armor piece from SoTO. Just like the last batch of special tasks had the Cosmic Observatory CM, I assume they know that some people won't want to do it (even though they can) and some won't try it because it's beyond the effort/time they want to put in the game. If you don't want to do it, it's fine, but others that are actually doing their first legendary armor piece will appreciate this task.
  9. Years ago, in 2014 more specifically, Anet changed how dyes worked. Before, you would have to give the dyes separately to each character. Then they realized that it wasn't a good system because people like to have alts but some dyes were just too expensive to give to all your alts, so they changed it to the current system, where you unlock the dyes per account and not per character like it used to be before. The problem is that back then, some people actually bought expensive dyes to different characters, which may seem to be your case. The dye page on wiki doesn't refer to this patch anymore since it's really old but you can read about it in the patch notes from the day the change happened: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates/2014-04-15#Wardrobe I assume that you got a bunch of unid dyes in your mail when you got back to play, they are the ones that replaced the duplicates you had (refer to #3 listed below). The list of the dye changes were: 1. Dyes are now account unlocks. 2. Each dye unlocked on a character will be unlocked for the player's entire account the next time they log in with that character. 3. Duplicate dyes unlocked on multiple characters will be compensated by mailing the player an Unidentified Dye when the second character logs in. 4. Unidentified Dyes no longer drop as common loot from creatures in the world. They are still available as rewards and as a Mystic Forge result. 5. Dye packs can still be crafted by cooks. 6. The laurel cost of Unidentified Dyes has changed to 5 laurels for one dye. 7. Any four crafted dye packs can now be combined in the Mystic Forge to create an Unidentified Dye. 8. To account for the increased scarcity of Unidentified Dye, the Gift of Color recipe now only requires 100 Unidentified Dyes. So if you still have them applied to your characters armor, don't swap them, take print screens from dyes alerady applied and the locked icon on their name, then send it to Anet's Support..maybe they can do something about it?
  10. The drop rate is messed up for some people I suppose... there was a time that they added a fat black dragon skin for jade bots that I reeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaallly wanted.. it took me 100 + keys to get, while some people said they got it with 5.. go figure.
  11. They probably don't know the answer either. The whole relic subject is being thought as it goes, since the beginning..
  12. The discussion was already over when they stated that people would have to work for it and that you would earn progress based on the amount of legendary runes that the player had.. It seemed a fair solution that would keep players engaged and working on their progress towards the legendary relic.. But now it seems they are just going against the goal of making people do their contents lol . Sometimes it feels like Anet loves to stir the pot ..
  13. Maybe some people don't really care if Anet is changing how a legendary item work for the worse.. but they always stated that GW2 isn't a game for gear grind.. the legendary items were planned to be the ultimate goal for players that don't want to grind for gear from time to time.. their design was basically high cost in exchange for the feature of swapping things at will. Going back to a gear grind style is just not GW2.. I really hate to see the studio going back more and more on their statements over the last few years. The fact that they announced that people with a full set of legendary runes would get a significant progress towards the legendary relic made it feel more in balance with the idea that the they would have to spend more time and gold to get the rune effect that was taken from them. Was it frustrating? Yes it was, but it would still make people engage with contents in game while taking in consideration the amount of investment from each player.. Some people even crafted the 7th rune, which most players wouldn't go for, because it is only if you really care to have the bonus on your aquabreather.. Why do they think that giving the same compensation for those with 1, 6 or 7 runes is fair? It's just sad to see the studio treating their players like that..
