  1. Thanks! I haven't done WVW in years since it split with PvP, but I'm sure there's probably some variant to be made. The Flamethrower + Elixir Gun combo has good blasts and support built in. Depending on whether you're fighting in groups or solo, mobility might be an issue as Core doesn't have the easy superspeed or spammable leaps of Scrapper/Holo. I imagine the value of Elixir S declines in WvW, only delaying the inevitable if you're caught by a raging mob. Rocket Boots might then be a good replacement.Elixir S is used on pretty much every WvW build (outside the meta minstrel scrapper) because it secure a stomp and it gives you critical stealth. The build should work decently if we assume trailblazer/dire. IMO using supply drop is still gimping any core build compared to elixir. I also think shield is weak in the long run - pistol 4 is often what wins fights because you need more damage to compete with power builds. With the flamethrower you got some other burns but then you have to flip to EG anyway to survive any counterburst. I wish I could put both thumbs up AND helpful. Thank you for the info and your experience! Will have it in mind when I try out this build

I really, really, really love the versatility flamethrower + Egun combo brings. This looks especially great in the hands of a greaet player like you! Will try and improve myself with this build. Thanks again for the videos (and another thanks for the walkthrough comments during the videos)!
  3. This looks amazing. You seem to know what to do and when to do it. May be a stupid question, but: is there an open world/wvw variant of this build?
  4. Sure thing! Right after some groundwork on the table.
  5. OR, you can do what I did and try out WvW. The game mode where you can actually do stuff solo and you are not glued to other 4 random players and forced to be better than the other 5 people. Or if you are in a group there is an actual way to communicate with them (usually discord/ts) if you don't want to talk - don't. Just follow what the commander tells you. Basically, there is a lot more freedom AND it's less stressful. Sincerely yours, player who got tired of pvp, tried fractals, got to T4 thinking it will become more interesting, got bored and is now enjoying WvW. I've done WvW off and on, anytime I needed a GOB or Warclaw, I completed the track. The last time I was in WvW, was to aquire the new Legendary item. I did enjoy WvW for a time (BlackGate NA), but I got burned from it because of:I love to solo, and was finding it difficult to do so. People rarely solo'ed and LOTS of other solo's jumped in OR the zerg stream rolled us.It seemed that when I joined a zerg, most of the times, the leaders (our and theirs) just wanted to flip camps, and not engage in fights.Countless times in the zerg, you could here in discord how people had alts and would 'cheat' with opposing sides via other com channels.I like small havoc groups, but either do to when I was able to log on--it seems I could never find a group.Yeah I get way you are saying. I am working on convincing my friends to come back to the game so we can try and fight zergs. Just today me and a few other intelligent people in my Zerg got absolutely destroyed by what felt like the best elementalist, fb and necro in the world. They were so coordinated that they ended up breaking apart our Zerg and beat all of us. Now I want to reach that level.
  6. However, for all we know, said table might be in some remote location that Arenanet forgot about. Don't forget about the groundwork.

  8. Which is to say staring at the mesmer patch notes will eventually make you feel very sad and you'll switch to thief. The only profession that lost their dodge.
  9. Not sure if that helps, but trying to get legendary armor through pvp while playing 2h per day might be even longer as a casual player. You are in a group of 5 and all 5 must perform. Pvp ends up costing more time and, like in my case, it costs soo much nerves with all the beautiful (and for some reason still invisible to Anet) afk/bots. At least in WvW you can do stuff solo if needed. Imagine having to have a group of at least 4 more (random!) people and fight other groups of 5 but if you loose a fight you don't get any rewards. That is pvp.
  10. I have somewhat of an opposite experience. I recently started working for my first legendary set. Since I do not want to invest time and find a static for raids, I have decided to go for a pvp legendary gear (I already have back item anyway since I used to play pvp a ton). OMG how quickly I realized/remembered that pvp was and still is just Depression - the game mode. So I decided to try out WvW. At first it was a bit confusing, but after several videos I have found out that you can do SO much more in WvW even solo. You can not do anything solo in pvp as an average player. In WvW you can suck but still do at least decent be it solo roaming and/or sticking with a group. I quickly crafted and geared up a few characters (engi for solo roam and group healing and a firebrand, spellbreaker and an elementalist for group play depending on what the group needs or I want to play). And MAN it feels nice! I just put some nice music on and just enjoy the game mode the way I want to. And no matter what I choose to do in WvW I get rewarded for taking camps, keeps, just finding people to fight. So much freedom it's awesome! I heard that the game mode used to be better, but I don't know man, I still see people play this awesome game mode.
  11. I too can post “screenshots” from another season.
  12. Pets need a nerf is feedback That was added after He commented. Edit:Are the pets you are referring to cats and birds? Just to be sure that this post is the same as the other 2 or 3.We need at least a few per day to keep up with the fb/necro/condi rev posts from when they were unnerfed.
