  1. For me, the real problem is understanding why exactly I won or lost a particular engagement. This comes down largely to tells and the display of information. And I think the game does a really bad job of communicating this information, which leads to fairly mixed opinions of PVP balance and fairly unenjoyable gameplay. Let me explain by using 2 opposing examples of losses. Being denied a stomp by a heralds chaotic release. While yes it's a powerful skill, there is 0 doubt about it's use. If you get hit by this skill, you know for sure that it is probably your fault. That thing has a 10 minute animation and it pays off big time for landing it. When it's used properly, the person using it is pogchamp and even often the guy getting hit can't help but to respect the heralds timing and gameplay decision.Going down in a team fight to plaguelands. This is the opposite, here is a skill in PvP that's hard to see and easy to disguise. If you get hit it's really hard to see what killed you, even the death recap only shows the conditions that killed you and not the reason why you got conditioned to begin with. After a while you'll know it when you see it, and it's not a hugely popular skill in the current meta. But it's a great example of a skill with a "cancerous" design. This to a new player, I have no doubt would cause an immense amount of frustration."Nobody likes dying to cheese" Condition applying skills are all mostly great examples, but it's not just condis. Poor communication can extend to boons even. A decapitate might not kill you, where a decapitate with 25might would. And yeah I know that a lot of people are gonna say "but boons are l2p." But I say there is a very serious argument for the lack of clarity of boons. Imagine this:A thief +1's you from stealth and you go down, somehow he has 25 might but you don't have time to click on his bar in all of the panic.A thief +1's you from stealth and you go down, but this time when he does it there is a big yellow might symbol over his head that acts like a warning "hey I have a LOT OF MIGHT IM GONNA HURT" The feedback in both instances would be vastly different. In the first you'd be receiving feedback on the forums along the veins of "stealth op, nerf backstab." In the second case, if you get feedback at all, might go along the veins of "where the hell did this thief get 25 might from, pls help somebody." Yeah, some things might add to the visual noise of the game. But if we can get it just right- so the important information is toned to be more clear and the less important information less clear, it would be far better. 25 might is a huge game changer, and a little more information other than a symbol on a status bar would be pretty helpful.
  2. I think it's pretty simple. Why don't they allow delta to continue maintaining arcdps build templates. And Anet they themselves just make a BETTER PRODUCT?
  3. Wow, I'm actually impressed by the scale of these changes. I mean sure there is a lot of conversation to be had about them, positive and negative, but they are meaty. I'm really happy to see Anet getting in there and reworking entire trait lines like this, kudos for the effort. Feels good to finally have a tiny bit of hope for the game again Loving the ranger sword changes btw.
  4. Let me ask the questions that people actually care about. What's the plan for the future, do you plan to keep focusing on content surrounding the metal legion in future episodes? Was the metal legion enough of a pull to salvage the game from the disaster that happened around the announcement? What are your impressions regarding what your players feel about the 54-step collection for the rockout emote? Do you think it was too short, long or just right?
  5. The warrior warhorn changes feel clunky. Fury and resistance are good choices. But there are some problems. The coupling of resistance, condition cleanse and barrier doesn't make sense, you only need 1 or the other. Make it resistance base line, give it a long duration and remove the barrier and condition cleanse portion of the skill. Barrier is a bad defensive choice anyway because it's not thematically appropriate for warrior. Consider making it protection instead. I'd also urge against aoe stability, we don't need that kind of power creep via boon spread in the other game modes. Chaos Chrono and FB is enough proof for that. 10-25% damage on the next 2 attacks basically makes this a meaningless bonus effect because it will get wasted on small packets of damage. Why don't you make this interesting? Make it an effect that scales off your stats. For example: Increases outgoing damage of nearby allies by (concentration/ 35) % for (concentration/ 60) seconds. Overall warhorn just feels like a mishmash if different effects. It lacks any identity.
  6. how much you wanna bet they forgot to add fishing like they said they were reserving for lvl 500 cooking
  7. I think the biggest problem with LB is lost of definition. From what I can tell it is supposed to be a ranged CC and burst damage weapon. Let's just say that's what they wanna keep it as, making deflecting shot knockdown baseline would be a smart change. But then you would probably want to opposite from symbol of energy, instead of making it faster, make it slower with very high initial damage. This would make it easier to weave it in with another skill for actual burst damage.
  8. I personally prefer condi chrono there. I would argue that sceptre is wayyy more comfortable to use but from my observation, it's barely any difference.
  9. Either FB because you need a hard carry and want access to every single boon in the game. Or Ren because FB is not just a better healer, but also a better dps omegalol.
  10. Developers - I want to see more developer communication
  11. Reposting this because mods are busting my (word for objects of a spherical shape) and I think the kitten thing isn't working... urgh I remember why I stopped visiting the forums. Here is my well intentioned constructive criticism and feedback with obvious omissions: These changes look really great, would really love to see some more additions to Dominion though. The dynamics of the map are that it's very open, with small close nodes and not a lot of good LOS/Kite spots near the nodes. It makes nodes very difficult to defend and way less meaningful to capture, a bit too much tbh, and that's why we are seeing a lot of a (word for a malignant growth or tumour resulting from an uncontrolled division of cells) ranged/spam builds dominating so hard there. While there are good map assets placed around other sections of the map, nobody is incentivised to go there, or really has any reason. I'd really love to see some kind of a 1-way ramp / JP section added on the short paths between home/mid and mid/far as well. This to make disengaging to a side node more meaningful but also to add a trade-off for going to a different point. Right now you can just sit in-between 2 nodes and practically be able to defend both at the same time as neither is too far that you cant make it in time to prevent a decap.
  12. Hi Irenio I want to give some feedback about the general direction direction of balance. One thing that's disconcerting is the place of FB vs Chronomancer. Chronomancer stills holds the top spot in raid content, its 10 party boon support is still pretty insane and it's only become more so now that chrono no longer needs to take boon duration at all to maintain uptime in 10 man content. While that's good, it's the total opposite for fractals. Because chronomancer balance is more and more becoming centered around Signet of Inspiration. In fractals Chronomancers are still required to bring 100% BD which, mind me, is partially offset by chaos boon duration and potion conversion. It still causes conflict with the support direction of things like Firebrand which is arguably the better 5 party support, but also arguably the worst best pick for fractals altogether having worse burst dps and centered around buffing condition centered playstyles, not to mention that it has worse cc which cannot as easily be substituted by 4 other players as it can be with 9, not to forget it brings no alacrity either, which means its only a buff to the number of auto attacks a person can do. The other concern is the distribution of vulnerability across builds. Currently the most reliable source of vulnerability is from warriors, druids and condi holos. which is a second thought for everything except the largos twins, but its a quiet concern. Please keep this in mind when balancing for 5 and 10 man groups. Edit: When we couple these issues together with the other issues that others have brought up here, its pretty evident that the game is going to be very unfriendly for new players. I honestly think its better to keep the most complex and roles confined to a couple spots on a raid roster, instead of conflating what works here and what works there. Its just going to get very messy and it will make it much harder for new players to get clears in raids and other endgame content.
  13. Can you throw us a bone and chuck us a free stat reselect by any chance? The last year or so has been very rough on support players, especially chrono players. Atm the only way a person can reasonably play support is with legendary gear, which I feel is pushing the gw2 game philosophy a bit far. Especially because right now its like, any random patch could totally make your favourite support profession obsolete and ruin the investment we've made into it.
  14. Sort of While XY males and XX females are most common there are people withXXYXXXXYYXXXYXXXXX only, no additional X or YIn addition there are XX females and XX males Plus XY males who are outwardly female, raised as female and may not be diagnosed until puberty. Actually this derived meaning of gender is a little uninformed. To be male, you dont need to have an X and a Y chromosome. A male is defined as anybody with a Y chromosome at all. The reason is because it is impossible to be born (alive) without at least a single X chromosome. The first X chromosome is required for an embryo to develop at all, the second chromosome is really the only chromosome that determines your gender. The second X chromosome is a backup in women, incase of any deformities, so yes women have "stronger" genetics because of the backup. Men dont have a backup however, because the Y is an extention (an expansion lol) that gives additional instructions to the body on how to make man things :P yes men are genetically more "complicated." This is why, anybody with a Y chromosome, is male. Its because it doesnt matter how many extra "backup" X chromosomes they have, they will still always have that Y chromosome with the extra instructions hard at work making all of those extra man bits. To break it down the following will all be born male:(X)XY(X)YY(X)XXY(X)Y And the following are all female:(X)XX(X)XXX(X)X(X) Gw2 ofc doesnt have to stick to real world science, but I think its nice to have a good understanding of it first before you choose to make a decision on it. Especially this, because its one of the bigger misconceptions today.
  15. IDK if it was mentioned before, but being able to rename inventory and bank tabs would be amazing!
