  1. I suggested alacrity on the first balance thread feedback. Mesmer doesn't benefit at all from 5sec cd on one skill since mesmer relies heavily on combos.Of course ANerf didn't listen because mesmer mains aren't truthworthy. I mean... we are the profession that uses misdirection to win. Ofc we aren't trustworthy ;) I don't think that the new CI is grandmaster worthy. It would have been if it had either no ICD or would reduce all weaponskills' cooldowns by probably 2.5 or 3s.

I believe the builds that habe the least requirement for cPhantasma are tank chrono (although you lose out on protection uptime from pAvenger) and confusion Chrono as your main damage source on that build is not phantasms but F2 and since you're shattering every few seconds you're providing 100% uptime with only minor dps loss.

  4. I finally understand the reason behind the lost time change. Waiting for a fix on this is going to be 3 months of lost time... (I am telling you. Robert Gee is no longer with Arena Net...) Edit: I actually don't.believe that there will ever be a fix :(
  5. Following up on this I made a comparison between OLD and NEW traits if both are picked: Imagine running both traits old and new and we don't interrupt we just CC, alright? Gravity Well OLD: each target: 9s of slow, 3 packages of damageNEW: 3s of slow per target; 3s of alacrityF3 (3 illusions) OLD: 15s of slow, 3 packages of damageNEW: 9s of slow, 3s of alacrity.Mantra of Distraction OLD: each target: 3s slow, 1 package of damgeNEW: 3s of slow per target; 3s of alacrity.NOW: If any of the CCs that I listed above had been an interrupt we would have gotten 3s alacrity AND 3s slow on top (only the old one). Any questions? Power Chronomancer with Lost Time is NOT a build that is run frequently in PvE or WvW (can't judge for PvP but from what I heared it is Mirage that's the problem)so WHY is power Chronomancer getting hit every balance patch?

So with the new balance patch 2 slow traits for Chrono will be nerfed.Lost Time: Cast Lost Time when you disable a foe (damage + 3s slow) NO ICD.Delayed Reactions: Interrupting a foe slows them and grants you alacrity. (3s IDC against defiant foes only) These two traits get thrown into the mixer and the worst of both is coming out missing important synergies. The new version of Delayed reactions: Slow enemies you hit with control effects. 3s slow. 3s ICD per target.This trait is essentially a crippled version of Lost Time. The damage is gone and it now has an ICD meaning that you can no longer stack up Slow using F3 or gWell. New Lost Time: Slowing a foe grants you alacrity for 3s. 3s ICD.This really made me laugh. We just got a GRANDMASTER trait that allows us to gain alacrity for 3s when we slow someone. Slow access is on: F3, Delayed Reactions, Time Warp, Well of Action and Arcane Thievery. ONLY ONE of these skills is able to trigger the alacrity gain more than once.This essentially is a GM trait that says: The following skills give you 3s of alacrity. F3, Well of Action, Arcane Thievery, Shield 4. Time Warp grants 6s of alacrity. I am sorry but this is bullshit. Imagine running both traits old and new and we don't interrupt we just CC, alright? Lost Time and Delayed Reactions is really infuriating.Pre patch Lost Time did damage and slow on Landing a CC without an ICD that means you could place a gravity well on a group of mobs and they all got 3 additional damage hits and 9s of slow.The new delayed reactions will turn this into 3s of slow. If you happen to take both lost time and delayed reactions you get 3s of slow on each mob and 3s of alacrity. You lose: 5x6s of slow and 15 packages of damage. You gain 3s of alacrity. This whole thing is not even commented on as a nerf but just stated as redundancies thst were cleared. It's a clear nerf that I don't understand. Also a trait that offers 3s of alacrity everytime I alow a target (with 3s icd) is not a worthy grandmaster trait.The ONLY mesmer skill able to trigger this mkre than once is time warp. Each other slow applycant is crippled by the ICD. To make delayed reactions at least remotely as good as lost time was pre patch remove the ICD (at least in PvE) so you can stack some slow with F3 and gravity well. The new grandmaster trait is just a meme at this point. We have better access to alacrity by shattering than using this trait.
  8. Hey Irenio,I do not believe that Chaotic interruption is the thing that makes mirage so strong. It is mirage itself. Looking at the history of meta builds with mirage there have been a few times where the "main trait" has been nerfed. Elusive Mind was nerfed and mirages went to play Infinite Horizon.Bountiful Disillusionment was nerfed and Mirages went with chaotic interruption instead. I do not think that these traits were problematic. I believe that mirage is.Nerfing chaotic interruption will not only hurt mirage but also other mesmer builds in which this trait has been perfectly fine for years.I am strongly against nerfing core mechanics/traits because an elite spec is too strong with them. This only results in less build diversity over the rest of the profession.E.g. I habe been using Chaotic interruption on chronomancer builds for years. Noone has ever cared that I did. The fact that you are going to rework it will completely destroy my build and leave me with no real interrupt build for roaming in WvW (aside from sword mirage) I just don't believe it is fair to kill off build diversity because one specific build is strong with this trait. Thanks for reading. TL;DR. Chaotic Interruption has been fine for years. Nerf mirage instead of killing bade mesmer's toys.

Switching Elements causes you to throw an elemental orb into the sky (depending of the element you just left). Catching the orb will instantly attune you to the orbs element. Your element stays disabled until you either pick up or catch the orb. Orbs land 5s after throwing.Mirage:"Sanity is but a mirage!" Your illusion spells start to slowly consume your mental health. Every clone you summon while in combat has a chance to twist your mind turning all your clones into enemies that target yourself.Chronomancer:You can no longer manipulate time without your blue box. As a new profession mount/mechanic you get a blue box that is essentially the best piece of technology you will ever see (best dps, infinite hp and instant travel) but in the most crucial moments there is always a reason that you don't have access to it and have to solve your problems without your crazily op time box. But you now have a screwdriver.Reaper:You are so evil and dark that you sold your soul to dhuum who requures you to gather souls for him. You have to kill something every 120 seconds or dhuum will come forth and take your soul instead killing you instantly.Scurge:You are considered a scurge and NPCs will hate you. You can no longer interact with NPCs aside from Palava Joko.Scrapper:Fixing machines causes your hands to get oily. Every machine skill you cast (turrets, gyros, gadgets etc.) adds 10% of oil to your hands. Each attack with your weapons has a chance of dropping your weapon depending on the oil. You can remove oil by jumping into water.Holosmith:It's just holograms! Your holoforge skills only affect creatures of the night and reapers that are in shroud.Daredevil:You have become so daring that you became addicted to it. Whenever someone dares you to do something you can nkt decline. Additionally you can never choose truth when they ask you 'truth or dare'.Druid:You accrpted your druidic spirit and are now a tree. You're a tree like druids have ever been in Guild Wars.Berserker:You fall into blind rage when activating berserker mode. Entering berserker mode blinds you. While in berserker mode you get blinded whenever you miss an attack. You deal 300% more damage. You cannot exit berserker mode until all foes are defeated.Spellbreaker:Anti magic magic is still magic! You can't fight fire with fire. All negative effects of your magical spellbreaker abilities affect you as well.Dragonhunter:Hunting dragons that fly in the sky has made your neck stiff. You can only point your camera in the sky.Firebrand:The priory requires your service and knowledge. Taking the firebrand specialization teleports you into the priory's library where you are required to do research. You can not leave.

  12. Don't worry, this is just a fun thread. I'd like to think about ways to make the other elite specs as clunky as chronomancer is right now. I'll present my ideas first: Mirage:You were the Illusion all along. Your attacks don't have any effects.Tempest:Overloads can only be used if you run the elements traitline.Weaver:Attuning to elements now applies an elemental effect to your character. Fire makes you burn. Water cleanses burn but applies chill. Earth roots you in place. Air causes knockback and pull effects to be more intense on you.Reaper:You can no longer kill foes. You are now to escort the dead to the underworld.Scurge:Sand Shades only work in the desert.Scrapper:All your abilities now cost an amount of Airship Parts.Holosmith:Holoforge only works during the day.Daredevil:Your screen is black but you can now hear better. (This specialization nkw requires a full surround sound system to operate)Deadeye:You can only use Deadeye's Mark on Bounty Bosses.Druid:Celestial avatar only works during the night.Soulbeast:Merging with your pet grants you the pets skills but you loose all weapon and utility skills.Berserker:Berserker Mode sets you into downed state when it ends.SpellbreakerFull Counter pauses the game. Then you choose which ability is going to hit you next. The game resumes and full counter only works if you guessed right.Dragonhunter:You are unable to ride a skyscale. It is afraid of you.Firebrand:While using tomes you have the effect:"easy to interrupt". (It is hard to fight while reading).Herald:Your soul is doomed to fight the war eternal in the mists. Your character now has "Permadeath"Renegade:Can only be used by Charr.

  14. No way is that legit. Seriously now, do you really think that Mike O'Brien himself would actually show up in a stream and say things? More than that, since when has anyone in Anet management made any kind of public statement whatsoever that wasn't pre-planned and controlled. I know. That is why I wrote it the way I did. I am not certain if the user is an Impostor or not. I suspect it but I somehow believe their answer which is probalby because of the fact that they said what I want to believe ^^.Anyways mesmer is a sinking ship and I am probably going to abandon either the class or the game depends on the fact if I find a suitable new main.

If this account is real... https://www.twitch.tv/mikeobrien_arenanet then I have bad news for us.Yesterday this account and the well known BenP appeared in MightyTeapot's twitch stream and I thought I'd ask him if Robert Gee (the person who designed Chronomancer, Mirage, the Phantasm rework and the man behind the GW1 Mesmer overhaul) was still working on the Balance Team. The answer was "No, he got fired" It is honestly a sad time to be a mesmer main. EDIT; Link didn't work for some reason. Fixed it
