Random Wax Orc.7695's Achievements

  1. Is the Gift of Inner Nayos going to be awarded for 100% map completion in the NEXT content update? If so why is it being awarded for 2/3 of the lanterns now and not 2/3 of map completion now? A significant number of players prepared themselves to complete 6, 12 or 18 map completions this update. What are they going to do with all those Gifts of Inner Nayos after the NEXT content update, when they already have their Obsidian Armor completed? It is not moral or ethical to be generous with other people's time, especially your customers. Especially when you provided them enough information to form an extremely reasonable expectation that makes far more sense than your systemic changing reveal.
  2. Scrap it all, and give Engineer dual wield Axe/Axe. That would help make up for the pathetic weapon combinations available to Engineer. One 2h weapon is a single gimmick weapon choice. Two 1h weapons gives pistols 2 more options, and sword/mace/shield each one more option. That's almost double Engineer's current weapon options, and over double Engineer's current viable options. And stop trying to force every new Engineer build into being Support, while continually nerfing Engineer Dps. Give Engineer more OPTIONS and more versatility.
  3. There are 5 weapon skills and 5 kits (not including healing kit and mortar kit which would have to remain utility slots). Each of the 5 standard utility slot kits would be selected from one of the 5 dumby kit weapon skills. The Con: It takes two clicks to get to a kit. The Pro: Engineers can choose between having all kits available OR swapped weapons... plus the engineer standard utility slots would not be lost to kits.
  4. Forgive me for replying to my own post. But Anet could give engineers in-combat weapon swap, and remove the kits from the utilities slots, then re-add kits by giving engineers a kit selector "weapon" that could be placed in the second weapon slot.
  5. Most kits don't fit in most engineer builds anymore. I've gone from 3 kits to 1 kit as GW2 has grown. Other utilities are just too important to elites. This focus on weapon diversity is welcome but it leaves engineer further and further behind. Giving Engineer in-combat weapon swap would not make engineer unbalanced, it would just reduce the depth of the hole engineers have been left in. Give engineers in-combat weapon swap... or give engineer elites access to all utility skills of all elites. Okay, the second bit is a joke, but it contains a point, whenever GW2 does something good for weapons, it affects classes asymmetrically. Do kits ever get boosted or reworked, so engies don't have to choose kits over utility skills? That leaves a bad taste for engie devotees. Okay, that is the answer... Give Engineers in-combat weapon swap OR rework Kits so they all can be selected (Hit weapon swap, and the weapon skills are replaced by a list of kits, and then any kit can be selected... THUS engineers don't lose any utility skill slots to use kits.)
  6. Stationary Wells are a deal breaker. This eliminates Scrapper as an option for way too many players. In what world is it acceptable to destroy the core mechanic of an elite instead of actually doing the work to power balance. "Camp in a tiny Well to get your superspeed that lasts a tiny fraction of the Well duration" "Camp in a tiny Well to get your healing" "Camp in a tiny Well to get your stealth, which will be mostly wasted by camping in a tiny Well" This both limits Scrapper game play and raises the skill requirements for playing Scrapper above and beyond the ability of a huge chunk of the player base. Stationary Wells are a deal breaker. I gave up on WvW long ago, and was never interested in PvP. Now, the only class I had a taste for is being destroyed in PvE. Years of getting all my engineer equipment goes down the drain as well.
  7. If you are playing GW2, then buy it. If Pre-EoD GW2 wasn't really holding your interest, then consider skipping it. EoD neither saves or ruins GW2. The new maps are mostly beautiful, but the Echovald map does have lighting issues that make it hard to play for some people. The new story is mostly good, but the Canthan and Aetherblade manner of speech is at times off-putting (e.g. throwing around un-fantasy words like Dweeb, and [repeatedly] Bougie). There are persisting issues with the new content (like the failure rate of the DE meta, and fishing at dawn/dusk) which should in time be ironed out. Overall, I like EoD more than PoF, but the EoD writing sort of gives the impression that the game developers are rather bougie. I do suspect EoD is my last xpac... not so much because of EoD itself, but because of Anet's persistent disregard for their consumer base.
  8. Fishing in Istan takes the cake. You can easily select a bait for the Wahoo that will not be accepted by all the higher quality fish. So it should be easy, use any bait but eggs or mackerel & max out your fishing power. But NOOOO! Anet replaces those missing higher quality fish that won't bite with junk items and the same handful of world class fisher fish (from another collection altogether). Fishing Power has little impact on the appearance of green fish and yellow fish, but exotic fish don't become more abundant at any point. Anet has clearly set up their loot tables so that Fishing Power impacts the results within the uncommon or the rare fish tables, but doesn't proportionally increase the frequency of calls to better tables. This makes exotic fish (which presumably are at the bottom of the rare results category) extremely rare, because the Fishing Power bonus reduces the calls to the bottom of that table. ANET, stop being so generous with other people's time (between fishing and DE meta I've wasted over 20 hours now, pointlessly, with what should have been play time). I wasted like 3 hours waiting for those stupid 5m dawn/dusk windows in Istan today... and got nothing but frustration at Anet's inability as a game developer. Hire someone who has basic math and statistic skills because this sort of problem keeps happening. Dawn/Dusk loot tables should favor Dawn/Dusk fish... and not be heavy RNG rushes, only to be forced to do nothing but wait another hour for the next rush.
  9. Fishing Rod (25) + Bait (100) + Lure (50-100) + Food (175-250) + Mastery (100) + Fishing Party (0-300) + Tips on Fishing (0-50) = 450-925fp Entering a map I generally have 575fp since Fishing Party stacks are lost and I haven't used tips. 700fp is recommended for Offshore Fish in Orr. However, Shipwreck Moray (Legendary) and Giant Octopus (Ascended) both respond to the SAME BAIT and are active at the same time (Dusk/Dawn). Note: During Dusk and Dawn, both Daytime and Nighttime fish appear. With full Fishing Party stacks 875fp while fed, Shipwreck Moray will typically trump Giant Octopus in the loot tables. With no Fishing Party stacks 575fp while fed, 700fp Offshore Orr is mostly a waste of time. Is it intentional that we need to manage our Fishing Power so that it doesn't become too high to maximize the chance for Giant Octopus? And to do this while waiting 40m-75m for the next 5m dusk/dawn window. This seems like bad design. However, it seems like the strategy should be catch 25-50 fish before dawn/dusk, and reset your Fishing Party bonus whenever it gets above 70 catches (tier V) and build it back to tier III or IV. Could use cheaper lures and food to shift that, but fishing already has a lack of a tackle box issue creating inventory problems. "Oh, I have the right amount of Fishing Party stacks, so I can do nothing but sit in this skiff for an hour until dusk/dawn... because catching more fish will hurt my chances and I can't leave my skiff." (Edit: the sweet spot seems to be Tier IV to Tier V, with Tier III being too low, and Tier VI being too high.)
  10. Leave DE meta exactly the way it currently is (except maybe rewards), but call the current timer GOLD, and have SILVER be 2m longer, and BRONZE 4m longer. Rewards can be scaled down for Silver and Bronze.
  11. I am consistently having issues with high Fishing Power making fish just under the top tier fish extremely rare. Getting an abundance of Legendary or Ascended fish, and then some Exotic fish that uses the same bait will basically never appear. The weighting on the catch type based on Power needs to be reworked to not make some mid tier fish next to impossible to catch. Also, when it can take an hour to build party boat stacks, and it can take several day cycles to catch a fish, the 60m time limit on closing maps really hurts fishing. Fishing can require hours in the same map, and many maps consistently close every meta, world boss or event cycle. Party Boat stacks need to be reworked.
  12. Seriously, Anet? How tone-deaf do you have to be, emailing advertisements for the Turtle mounts pack without first providing a reasonable expectation of being able to complete the DE meta. I am not going to buy the stupid egg from a vendor, after you've wasting well over 10 hours of my time on the DE meta. That meta has to be completed for other reasons anyway. I just wish you respected other people time, and didn't so casually waste it. You've squandered my trust and good will. I am not going to waste even more of my time enumerating all the issues that you are clearly doubling down on. However, if whatever you do doesn't begin with a heartfelt sincere apology to your player base, including some serious contrition lacking any equivocation, then whatever you do will be taken as empty gestures.
  13. I have a better idea. Why don't you give me (and everyone else) 200 Writs of the Jade Sea for wasting over 10 hours of my time, and award the Turtle Egg for defending the hatchery in the meta pre-event.
  14. I wish for ANET to realize that characters on slower computers and slower connections are SLOWER in-game than characters on faster computers and faster connections. Case in point, the gift box staircase in the Wintersday JP: It can't be done by slower characters when faster characters trigger the drop box timer EVERY freaking time the slower characters attempt the JP. This needs to be changed. And it needs to be changed 8 years ago. One player should not be able to trigger a timer that affects another character in a shared instance.
  15. Why would anyone think that an out of context bit of information answers a question. Great, it is a big pattern. The only thing that confirms is it is not random. It doesn't confirm the pattern is accessed in non-repeating manner, or much of anything else. The length of the pattern is too large to be indexed, so using the entire pattern would be quite an accomplishment. And if the entire pattern isn't being used, then the length of the pattern is irrelevant. Why would it be? Imagine an account has a 1 in 100,000 chance of being 2,000 times more fortunate in 1 in 1,000,000 chance. One in one hundred thousand is not very likely, but that 1 in 1,000,000 outcome becomes a 1 in 500 outcome every time that 1 in 100,000 chance wins. Can something like this happen? Theoretically, yes, but it would be much more complicated. We also wouldn't have the data or capacity to track anything like that. Any patterns would be multivariant, probably dynamic and almost certainly incomprehensible. You wouldn't know the variables, and you wouldn't know why the "luck" would begin or end. Well, Skynet is a bot which is a bannable offense... but I personally wouldn't want to anger Skynet. Anyway, if there are anomalies in the probability distribution across players, it certainly wouldn't be something intentionally done by Anet. It would be unintentional artifacts within a complex system. I know someone who repeatedly got lucky drops the week after buying some black lion keys. Complaints about bad luck after that were humorously attributed to not having bought black lion keys. (buying black lion keys is not coded to increase your luck.)
