  1. Made sense course the Abaddon should have know of the elder dragons cause they would have awaken faster from him giving way to much magic to everyone, and then what would they do then since they would aloud everyone to still have to much magic. I missed that post by Mickey before, but this is incorrect. Abaddon was imprisoned with Balthazar's chains, yes, but he was evil before being imprisoned. Abaddon's fall is stated to have occurred over a long period of time before he rebelled during 1 BE. The other gods revoking the spread of magic was merely the "final straw", which resulted in Abaddon worsening a war between the Margonite humans and Forgotten and besieging the Gates of Heaven and wanting to kill the other gods to become "the one true god", and while we don't know what led to the the revoking of magic being a "final straw" moment, it certainly wasn't Abaddon's imprisonment in the heart of the Realm of Torment. Abaddon became a monster then was imprisoned by the five gods and chained by Balthazar's forged chains. Balthazar didn't make Abaddon a monster; Abaddon made Abaddon a monster. Also, "having the Margonites wipe out the Priests of the 5 Gods who left him in torment." this happened before Abaddon was imprisoned, if Mickey's referrring to when the Margonites desicrated the Temple of the Six by murdering the other fives' priesthood.I was referring to the Priests in the Mirror of Lyssa who were massacred by Varesh...
  2. He tried to wipe out a village in revenge for a long forgotten breach of etiquette and when a Kaolai beat him in a game to spare them he killed the guy despite sparing the village as per the agreement. His having Kaolai inducted into Tahnnakai Temple is considered a rare gesture of sportsmanship in the Lore which indicates that he usually is more ruthless most of the time. The only notion that Balthazar fights to protect life came from the Zaishen Order when recruiting Zafirah in GW2 backstory... Long after he was captured by the Gods. Let it be noted that Zafirah felt a presence when she joined the Zaishen and they felt that presence themselves... That presence of course felt very different from Balthazar so there is someone who wants people to fight to protect life but it isn't and never was Balthazar. The only thing that changed about Balthazar was his code of honor which was simply about not running from a fight nor using deceit. Once the Gods imprisoned him via dishonorable methods and left him in the Mists for centuries with the Mirror of Lyssa he practically gave up on honor and went with using deceit to make his escape. Despite this he still let Rytlock out of the Mists for freeing him and later told him he'd spare his life alone showing that he still fulfills his debts.
  3. As mentioned Balthazar never cared for Tyria and any gestures of sportsmanship towards those who beat him at games are rare. The only changes resulting from his imprisonment was losing his reckless attitude and gaining pragmatism in his goals. His Priests the Zaishen drew on a much kinder source of power that protected others while he was imprisoned. The only God who was endangering Tyria out of apparent caring was Abaddon who was trying to generously share Magic for the sake of Tyrians only to have said Magic locked away upon which he waged war on the Gods over, got beaten at the Crystal Sea creating the Crystal Desert and Desolation and got locked up by mad Balthazar who never cared for Tyria but only wanted war. Imprisonment and Torment(due to Balthazar's cruelty when designing the chains of binding) drove Abaddon to Madness and desperate attempts to free himself such as eliminating the Emperor of Cantha, sinking Orr(which was dedicated to his jailers who tortured him), releasing the Titans serving Dhuum's Fury, making deals with Dhuum, allying with Menzies(who is just as mad as his half-brother Balthazar) and having the Margonites wipe out the Priests of the 5 Gods who left him in torment. Abaddon became the monster he was because of Balthazar's cruelty when imprisoning him and Abaddon's death awakening the Elder Dragons then revealed Balthazar's true colors resulting in the Gods imprisoning him(with less tormenting chains than Balthazar himself preferred for his enemies) and stripping him of power where they didn't concerning Abaddon. Balthazar's fate at our hands was long in coming. The story of Balthazar(including the part where he forged the chains of Abaddon who is described as being in Torment in his prison) reveals him to be the primary cause of GW1 and 2 including the Elder Dragon rise itself.
  4. I think you're mistaking anomalies with anomalies. Skyscales are an (arguably) unheard of occurrence thus an "anomaly" in the traditional sense of the word, but the anomalies the OP refers to as are the humanoid elementals formed from overflowing ley-lines (no relation to the Mists though). Overflowing Tyrian Leylines creating a Humanoid Elemental indicates that the Mother of Kralkatorrik may infact be a God... The Elder Dragons may just be the failsafe of the Tyrian God to regulate Magic without the Tyrian God going insane like Balthazar(the strongest of Gods who had no qualms towards grabbing every Elder Dragon's Magic for himself), Abaddon(who was capable of beating two Gods at once) and Dhuum did! Perhaps all Tyrian Gods have a The All connected to their specific Realm of the Gods! The Realm of Torment even resembles The All! That might mean that Mad King Thorn, Desmina, Dhuum and Palawa Joko are practically "Elder Dragons" connected to Grenth(with 2 more "Elder Dragons" yet undiscovered) and that Menzies is for practical reasons an "Elder Dragon" to Balthazar who already consumed all his other "Elder Dragons" except the Forest Lord and went mad!
  5. Dragon Bash is happening in the Norn Territory... Jormag is going to say hello I'd presume!
  6. Is the illness even legitimate? She's the one who told us about her illness... For all we know she duped us! She might even be the boss of the Inquest for all we know!
  7. And yet Maguuma Jungle is one of my favorite places in Prophecies alongside the Crystal Desert!
  8. The Fear Magic is Purple and Zhaitan used Fear Magic... Kralkatorrik is implementing the Fear Magic into his Crystals which are already Purple with Air Magic... Furthermore Balthazar has Purple in his Fire Magic as a leftover from using Lyssa's Chaos Magic which also gets absorbed by Kralkatorrik. Kralkatorrik has Purple Air Magic, Purple Fear Magic and Purple Chaos Magic all at once! Of course his Magic would become especially purple as a result!
  9. Perhaps this Tyria is a God like the 6! Maybe the whole reason Dhuum had to be contained was because the Underworld needed 6 spheres filled(by Dhuum/Death, the Judge/Souls, Mad King Thorn/Madness, Palawa Joko/Lich, Desmina/Blood and 1 more who commands the Ice Sphere) in order to keep Grenth sane unlike Dhuum and Balthazar(who has no concern on how much Magic he consumes to the point where he wanted to consume the Elder Dragons)! If Mad King Thorn leaves the Underworld taking the Mad Realm with him the Realm of Grenth will start feeling side effects due to two spheres of The All being removed logically(which would probably be why Grenth did his best to keep Mad King Thorn sealed according to the Lunatic Court).
  10. Again, not talking about the Pale Tree here. Talking about something similar but on a world scale where all life originates from, hence "World Tree" where all life is born that summons an avatar similar to the Pale Tree. Not conflicting at all either since the central sphere remains the same as a representation where all life originates and the other spheres of influence can destroy that central sphere of life if imbalanced. This World Tree theory is interesting since the Mist, Tyria, and Elder Dragons somewhat represents 7 of the 9 realms in Norse Myth.Asgard is the MistMidgard is TyriaMuspelheim is PrimoNiflheim is JormagAlfheim is MordHelheim is ZhaitanSvartalfheim is KralDeep Sea don't fit in any realm though... I'm not saying that this is where they got their reference, I simply find it interesting. Ginnungagap apparently is tied to the Ocean in some Norse Texts(despite others claiming there was no Sea when the Ginnungagap first existed). Deep Sea Dragon is Ginnungagap or Vanaheim(which is tied to Water and Woods)! Njord is also a Vanir sea god and the father of Freyr and Frejya. Also something something favorable conditions for fisherman and seafarers. But the realm itself is described as a fertile realm of magic and light. Nidavellir is however the 9th and I'm not sure how it would fit into this equation. I like the correlation. I don't know that it fits all that well, but it's a nice symmetry.Niðavellir and Svartalfheim are one and the same... Helheim is part of Niflheim(as is Niflhelheim) if you were unaware... This means that Jormag doesn't match any of the Nine Realms including the one that doesn't fit into the equation AKA Jotunheim/Utgard(which was apparently turned by Utgard-Loki into a Castle with illusion magic to trick Thor who was traversing Jotunheim)! It's interesting how Gesta Danorum says it was Utgard-Loki who was bound inside a cave which means he insulted everyone at the party and not the Loki that was Odin's annoying blood-brother like modern readers assume... Utgard-Loki is clearly the main villain of Ragnarok who killed Baldur(tricking Baldur's brother into using Mistilteinn/Mistletoe the sword of the Witch King Þráinn no less) and the nemesis of Heimdall who he mutually kills! Wonder what happens the normal Loki... The guy is only mentioned as pulling off ridiculous pranks on people and challenging Utgard-Loki's Flame(Norse word for Flame is Logi) to an eating contest so what happened to him?

  12. Seems all that's unresolved is Zojja, Lyssa, Menzies, Bangar Ruinbringer, the Inquest, Deep Sea Dragon, the Pale Tree and Cantha...
  13. I checked and it seems you are right! Menzies is not referred to as a coward even though his army is. His army was probably routed and only came back when Balthazar got bored and was captured. Menzies is called the deceiver Menzies I should say... if he is alive then he could fake his death though I'm sure Balthazar should be smart enough to see through it.
  14. It's like they have a beef with their lore and would rather start a new game... The only loose end now left after Eternal War is the one that has been exposed by Eternal War: Menzies. His armies are still active in the chunk of the Fissure of Woe(the eastern half it seems) that was turned into a part of the new Elonian island Dragonfall which means he is still active despite Balthazar reclaiming his Eternals. Dhuum is dealt with for good and the Hall of Judgement is secure even if the normal part of the Underworld(which is everything but the Ice Wastes) has been turned into part of a new Elonian island(Dragonfall). ArenaNet had a big plot concerning Cantha(involving Usoku and Ecclesiate Xun Rao who is called the biggest threat to Cantha) and I'm certain they want to get straight to that big plot as soon as possible! Now that Balthazar and Kralkatorrik is out of the way who better to lead into Cantha than Menzies the Mad? Hopefully Menzies and Ecclesiate Xun Rao/Emperor Usoku are one and the same!
  15. Menzies is a coward and would never show himself so Balthazar has zero hopes of fighting him so he would get bored of having his soldiers constantly fighting an enemy who dares not show himself and Balthazar at that point was far too honorable to even think of using subterfuge(as we would) to find Menzies! Balthazar wanted a fight and Menzies refused to give him one so he settled on Elder Dragons! Balthazar was idle due to Menzies not playing by his rules. If Menzies was more willing to challenge him or at least provide him with an entertaining opponent then Balthazar wouldn't have grown bored of not having an enemy to fight. Menzies is now the biggest player of Path of Fire since he drove Balthazar to idle boredom induced bloodlust due to his constant hiding and scheming! The Path of Fire leads to Menzies and the next Expansion ultimately!
