  1. I can confirm as of today this bug is happening again. My Ground Targeting is on Normal and I've tried all the other tips I could find but it still moves the camera instead of rotating the decoration.
  2. I can confirm as of today. In another thread it says this is supposed to be fixed, but it's still not working for me when I try today. Maybe it broke yet again? My Ground Targeting is on Normal and I've tried all the other tips I could find but it still moves the camera instead of rotating the decoration.
  3. This poll is missing a "undecided" option for questions 1 and 2, forcing people to pick randomly if they are unsure about one or the other but still wish to contribute to the rest.
  4. I think they should double down on strikes by revisiting HoT and PoF boss by boss. We already know they'll standardize the currency, and having more variation through all the expansions would make a lot more players feel good about doing them due to already having familiarity/nostalgia. It mostly depends how good the buyable strike rewards are though. The biggest allure for raids is the legendary armor and buying the unique raid armor/tools/rewards. Strikes need something about as big for people to take them seriously.
  5. I like the spec, but dear god PLEASE change the sceptre skill 1 sound! It's driving me crazy any time I use it, especially when on autocast. I don't know, make it quieter or less harsh, but it's just really loud compared to everything else when used over and over.
  6. I was shocked when I realized that unleashing the pet doesn't do anything for the pet. It seems like there isn't enough love given to the pet for an elite spec that is supposed to be centered around it. There's literally no incentive to unleash the pet for more than the minimum time, and to spend all your time in ranger unleashed mode. Shouldn't both modes be tempting enough for the ranger to consider which mode they want to be in? It would be especially interesting being able to viably run around with only the pet unleashed and have it feel great, because currently that's only possible to feel with the ranger unleashed constantly. Pet no longer uses it's skills, you have to. Normally I'd think this was ok due to the increase in control over pet skills, but this has a HUGE drawback that only comes up in this elite spec (which is ironic considering this is the only one the mechanic exists in). Now I get it, there's supposed to be drawbacks, but they REALLY need to be in something else, not the pet. The pet is supposed to be the main focus of Untamed, you can't then take things away from that same main mechanic, it has to be something about the ranger that has a drawback. Let the pet at least use it's normal attack chain when unleashed, and please make the pet share a percentage of the Ranger's stats when unleashed, the ranger already has the drawback of dealing less damage in that state anyway. Alternatively, let the player decide which pet skills are on autocast and have the pet use them during it's attack chain like normal. I don't want to have to constantly be clicking a 2 second cooldown skill that the pet would have just used normally for another type of ranger. Even better, have autocasted pet skills still autocast even when the pet is unleashed. This way you can decide to give the pet more freedom, making it more powerful when unleashed, or you can command the pet making it less powerful when unleashed (though if you're commanding your pet when it's not unleashed you're probably unleashing it the minimum amount of time possible anyway). In my ideal world, I would say having less control over the pet and having the pet much more powerful is what unleashing it should do, and when the ranger is unleashed the pet defers to them and the ranger decided what skills the pet uses. I think that would fit the theme more, but I'm putting this suggestion third since I bet it's the one least likely to happen Pet doesn't benefit from being unleashed at all. It feels like I'm using my pet as a focus at the cost of making my pet unable to do anything on it's own. It just doesn't feel like a pet anymore, it feels like an automaton. I don't really understand why it was a design decision to make the pet no longer feel like a pet in the elite spec that is about the pet, but whatever i guess. At least make the pet more powerful, right now there is no incentive to keep the pet unleashed like there is to do so with the ranger.
  7. When the untamed traitline is slotted, the pet will replace it's attack ai with a weak, periodic melee attack and do nothing else. I understand that some of the pet's skills become on command only like the special command pet skill, but this means that the pet will do nothing unless it is micromanaged. The biggest issue with this is that when the pet is unleashed, it is not able to use any of it's skills since you can't even give it skills commands in this state. all of the skill commands are replaced by generic untamed skills, but any pet specific buffs from being in the unleashed state are rendered completely useless due to the fact that the pet will no longer use it's normal skills. Honestly, the best fix for this is to let the pet use it's normal ai while unleashed (though having it not use them while not unleashed is still a huge issue), taking advantage of it's toolkit and skills, which is the reason anybody choses their specific pet. There would already be a tradeoff, since they pet's special skill command would be replaced by the unleashed state's special skill commands. ----------------- Personal commentary (a personal review of the pet side of the spec as it stands): As a side note, you are no longer able to make your pet "attack my target" while playing untamed, which means you lose all control over your pet's target if your pet's special command skills are on cooldown. I'm personally not sure why the pet's command bar was replaced by what it is while not unleashed, it seems the whole pet interaction of the unleashed was butchered and in many cases rendered worse than core ranger's pet. It's truly sad to see this for the "pet focused" elite spec, I haven't met a single person who isn't disappointed with the pet overhaul. Every person who I've talked to says they see no reason to unleash the pet because of how little return it gives compared to having the ranger be unleashed. in most cases, people will play ranger unleashed and swap to pet unleashed for the minimum time possible. The problem is that the "pet focused" elite spec was supposed to encourage people to have their pet unleashed and then unleash themselves to deliver the "killing blow". in general, the pet part of the elite spec has to have an overhaul for it to be different than Soulbeast in anything outside of flavor.
  8. Ah, i misunderstood, since there's quite a few PvPers who just assume that PvE and WvW skills are the same as they are in PvP. From what i understood, the changes are WvW exclusive, so I assumed you were talking about people who mainly play PvP making judgements about the WvW meta.
  9. Am I safe to assume you want a fourth for more build diversity? I know i regularly change my utility skills between combat, and love only having 3. It allows me to think more strategically about what ill need because i can't fill every niche. I feel that it would just cause power creep, which is totally different from balance issues.
  10. I feel that the main complaint about strike missions is that the one we have now isn't hard enough (and i do agree, since in order to help people grow into raids it needs to encourage 10 man groups). I also believe that the format they seem to have now is great and should be kept short like this. Although you could potentially solo or duo the mission, the goal isn't just about finishing it, its about having a good enough team synergy to beat the boss fast enough to get all of the bonus chests.
  11. Nah, they're a race. The last surviving one actually helps you enchant your armor to protect you from the Mursaat in GW1 Prophesies.
  12. The Bloodstones were created before the last dragon Cycle. Abaddon gifted the surface races magic by tapping into the Bloodstones that were already there. However, Magic already existed in Tyria before this, in fact, since forever as we know it. When the gods told the surface races that magic came from them, it was only a half truth, since the magic they gave they had already taken from the world. However, Ley-Lines already existed underground, where Asura lived unbeknownst to the surface races. They already harnessed this great power in their interconnected Asura Gates before they ever even met the surface races. The Seers, Mursaat and Forgotten already knew how to use magic before those gods came as well, as they created the bloodstones in the first place in order to hide some of Tyria's magic from the Elder dragons during the last cycle. They did this so that they could continue to use magic after the rest of it was devoured. This is all explained in-game. I've looked, but I can't find transcribed out of game versions of the books found in the Priory Archives. Also, sourcing the Wiki is the most vague thing you could likely do, and if you read through it you'd see that this is literally the history of Magic in Tyria. Also, Charr don't even use magic in their technology, that's why it's so unique.
  13. How did the Seers, Mursaat and Forgotten know how to use magic before the human gods even came to Tyria? The story of the human gods giving magic is, in lore, revealed to only be a half-truth. They only controlled the magic of the Bloodstones. Magic itself is the lifeblood of Tyria, and is everywhere. Source: The literal existance of Ley-Lines and Elder Dragons. Magic has always existed. Also, In Eye of the North, the Humans and their gods didn't even know about asura, and they've been tapping into the world's magic long before they met the "sentient races of Tyria" that were "gifted magic"
  14. I don't understand the sentiment, I have looked over the proposed changes to scourge time and time again, but only see it as an overall buff. It'll change the play-style, yes, but the new version is even more exploitable in WvW than the current one.
