  1. I've made it easy on myself. Over 10k hours and stopped playing alts, just ele main at this point. Now I've managed to cut out fractals and raids by playing an unwanted class, so with this change I can cut out WvW and PvP too. That just leaves story and world events, where I can stand around and press 1. Pretty soon I can cut out GW2.
  2. So tell me how 25 seconds of stealth while downed is 'fair'?
  3. They increased the cool down on Throw Mine because pieces of shit run in circles around a keep throwing them behind as they have no AOE indicator, but knockback or put anyone following them into combat, while they run away with superspeed. It's usually the trolls on blackgate that do it for days on end, getting their little kicks from being cunts.
  4. How the hell do you get 210-240ms from West Aus? At BEST mine is 285ms if nothing is going on. In WvW usually 310+ ms and that's on 100/40 nbn plan.
  5. It's unfortunate to say, but the WvW aspect of this game is fundamentally broken right now. It should be taken down until fixed and restored to some level of functionality. It's not up to the players to respond to this. Clearly in open empty areas latency/packet loss is fine, but it doesn't even take a map queue to cause all kinds of headaches and 4+ second latency. I would estimate 20v20 will start to impact play-ability. IMO packet loss causes serious issues which the game engine doesn't handle at all well, however the servers are also not keeping up with demand. This is easy to see when the same player connection moves from normal ping to high packet loss/latency back to normal just from more players being near by. It's also been ongoing since long before CoVid, thus no blaming the current state of affairs. Drastic measures need to be taken.
  6. Sounds unfortunate. I haven't had to queue in months.. maybe years. Different servers, different results I guess.
  7. You were so wrong by this point already, I stopped reading.
  8. I hope it takes a full stack of Legendary Spikes.. mostly because I have a full stack of Legendary Spikes (+some) :)
  9. I just feel that Obsidian Flesh is a skill I never want to hit, ever. The only one time it seems useful to me is if I'm trying to leg it into a tower portal, but even then I'd rather just die. From a primarily WvW tempest point of view, it seems wrong that using a skill would negatively impact my situation. It's also extremely beyond annoying that it interrupts overloads, both using it while overloading and it expiring before the overload ends. This is also why I never liked to use Mist Form, which features all the same problems.
  10. Greetings. Too much to know what the overall effects will be.Current thought is: Skills/Traits with a 5 minute cool down doesn't make for compelling game play. Either reduce their effects, or rework the skill/trait into something more useful.
  11. Without going in to so much depth as this thread already covers, I think it's player skill which should be rewarded most. There are many traits out there that do not invoke skill. The automatic invulnerability traits like Elixir S and Lesser Endure Pain just provides a low-effort escape while not requiring any activation or critical timing. More curious is why many classes do not have access to boon removal, thus why scourges are so desirable. Boons such as Retaliation are far more overpowering than they should be. Some groups easily run permanent up-time of retaliation, which to any class that puts out frequent (usually low) damage attacks or AoE take significant damage, all while the enemy effectively does nothing for it. Being heavily punished for attacking leaves you in a situation of not wanting to attack. One option would be to spread boon removal to more classes or another to lower the effect of retaliation. Perhaps even change retaliation from a boon to a Guardian specific AoE buff, so players would at least know who to target to remove it. Lastly, the skills that can fully restore a players health such as Defiant Stance, Infuse Light or even the instant resurrection skills. While these can be interrupted if you're lucky, there's nothing more disheartening than a close fight that results in one player going from down/almost down back to 100% health again. If you also happen to be playing on a condi character, you've no control over the conditions already stacked on them, so they inevitably recover to 100%. Anyway, that's a bit of a shortlist. There's plenty of desires/wishes/ideas but start with the basics imo.
  12. They are bored/disinterested in WvW and just want to finish their daily then leave.
  13. Yes, in part. One thing I don't understand is why it's still all the same game mode. I don't think WvW is a mode unto itself, it's just a wide open PvP area. If there were more modes, along the lines of capture/hold, infiltration or just really any possible scenario of one side vs another two it would make it infinitely more interesting to me. Why not have one world hold SMC, while the other two attempt to take it? If SMC is taken, it resets. I've had some really fun battles when three groups get to inner on SMC at the same time. The number of scenarios you could play out with 100+ players is staggering to consider and we have.. one. (well 3 if you consider alpine bl/desert bl I guess). Rotate scenarios weekly. Right now it's more like an FPS deathmatch.. over.. and over.. and over.. and over.. No change = stagnation, and it certainly is right now.
  14. He's referring to NA and the broken Activity in various tiers. Eg, this is the current standings of K+D, an indicator of 'which servers are busiest':Rank Server Activity Dragonbrand - Tier 3 NA 60711Borlis Pass - Tier 4 NA 60616Maguuma - Tier 4 NA 60430Ferguson's Crossing - Tier 2 NA 59022Crystal Desert - Tier 3 NA 56291Blackgate - Tier 1 NA 53869Sorrow's Furnace - Tier 4 NA 47800Fort Aspenwood - Tier 1 NA 46186Sea of Sorrows - Tier 1 NA 41361Yak's Bend - Tier 2 NA 39582Tarnished Coast - Tier 2 NA 37346Northern Shiverpeaks - Tier 3 NA 36232This indicates a trend for players to transfer out of T1 to stack on a lower server for better fights. There's substantially better numbers and 'Activity' in a T4 or T3 server than there is in T1. Meanwhile, run a blob for an hour and you'll roll over any T1 server without barely a scratch.. making terribly boring, unenthusiastic and downright terrible game play for anyone left in that server, on any side. Thus people pay to move.
  15. Ok, so West Australian here. Normally it's 280-300ms ping which is rough to deal with at best. Interestingly I think the switch to Amazon EC2 servers just went through today. Consequently my ping now sits at a steady 370-380ms which does make some content particularly obnoxious, such as trying to break a resurrect to dodge. I don't expect low ping; distance is an issue, obviously. However I do expect decent server architecture and right now the Amazon servers are performing ~20% worse.
