Shena Fu.5792's Achievements

  1. if you can't grind for a few days, you don't deserve the skyscale.
  2. Asheron's Call 2 had a few, all the way back in circa 2002 - 2005.
  3. just play mechanist and pretend balance issues don't exist
  4. I've played the same Soulbeast build for years, and don't feel squishy at all. Rarely die, mainly if I play too courageously or mindlessly and stand in enemy's AOE. (The same build is even pretty strong in sPVP.) I feel condi-trapper is safe and strong build. Axe/Torch + Short Bow. Utility skills are four traps, plus Entangle. Lay traps and get out of the way. Axe and Short Bow will give combos with these traps. Healing Spring is great heal + regen; and even more regen after combo. Furthermore, every OW build needs AOE. Axe, Torch, Short Bow, Traps, are great for single or multiple mobs. OTOH I don't see the appeal of Dagger (main- or off-hand) at all. My traits are Wilderness Survival 312, Skirmishing 332, Soulbeast 233. Wilderness Survival improves dodging, and Skirmishing improves weapon swap. So learn to rely on them a bit more. Pets also matter. The best are Jacaranda and Marsh Drake. Both are Supportive type. This means Soulbeast merged gets an elite heal F3, and other minor heal or steal health skills on F1 or F2. This is extra heals, sustain while merged. Unmerged, these two pets are also great tanks and DPS simultaneously. My gear (currently) is just Viper's + Rampager. Ideally fully Viper, but Rampager trinkets are easier to acquire. Anyway feels great without defensive stats.
  5. If you can't dedicate a few hours to unlock Warclaw, you probably won't contribute much to the zerg anyway. If you can't solo sentries and camps, you definitely won't be much help.
  6. There is a better way to get info than clogging menu with a rarely used option.
  7. Instead of more "dodges", try more CC and defiance breaks. I prefer Pistol off-hand for this reason. Mirage is top-notch in PVE. But utterly useless in WVW. You have 0% chance in WVW. 1-Dodge is the stupidest game design decision in the history of video games.
  8. I'm taking Spellbreaker into WVW thinking it would be good because it was initially conceived for it. Holy hell it sucks so much. No sustain, no damage, no reach. All Warrior heals are so bad and slow. Full Counter is fully traited, but still useless and makes no difference.
  9. That's a fallacy. the ROI argument on copper-fed is only if a player traded gold for gems. But if you buy gems with real money or got the gems for free, then copper-fed's is one of the best items to have. As for tools, you don't have to buy them with gems. You can also buy them for 45 statuettes. Until then, buy tools with karma. Regardless, avoid the "Unbreakable" set. These are slow and have post-channel delay. Instead try to get tools that come with glyphs (and possibly other advantages). Recommend new players spend gems on copper-fed and extra character slots.
  10. Weapons sets also make a huge difference within a class. For melee, I prefer high mobility and fast attacks. In this case, I love Mirage, Spellbreaker, and Thief. Mirage I use Axe/Pistol + Staff. Most of the time you can stay in melee range with Axe with little danger. Spellbreaker is Dagger/Axe + Mace/Dagger. Might Makes Right and Sun and Moon style for good sustain. Thief I like Dagger/Dagger's speed and acrobatic style. Stealth to backstab and to stay alive.
  11. Mech will be the flavor of the year, even until the next expansion. Guards are in the sweet second. It's sweet because it's just as OP as mech. But having Mech take the blunt of the complaints, this gives less pressure for devs to nerf Guards. Such that devs who love guards can continue to be OP, but without the stress from shrieking players.
  12. we get it. PVP caused you PTSD. in that case go find a psychologist. lmao talking about strawmans. when did PVPers demand 50%? 99% of the rent? so you spent millions $$ on this game? sad. "OMG 2 in 20 events are non PVE! Anet is so disrespectful to us!" is a hollow threat. Objectively Anet did nothing wrong. Their only miscalculation may be neglecting how frail, entitled, and traumatized some players may feel about certain game modes.
  13. A better metaphor is if you had a sibling. Your parents gave you 90% attention and only 10% to your sibling, yet you still complain you don't get 100% attention from your parents.
